Generally all the elements have some sort of impact on the organisation There are 2 elements of the general that could have the most impact on Mercedes Benz and Haines signature boat is 1)technological conditions new innovation and advancement 2) Natural environment condition - public issues concerned and public interest QUESTION 2 What do you feel the cultures of these companies would be like? ANSWER Organisational culture The system of shared beliefs and values that develops within an organisation and guides the behaviour of its members. There are two levels of organisational culture Observable culture The elements of daily organisational life through which new members learn the organisations culture and all members share and reinforce its special aspects over time. Examples are Stories, Heroes, Rites and rituals Symbols. Leadership and organisational culture Establishing and maintaining core values The performance of the culture depends on the strengths of the core values that should meet the following criteria: Relevance core values must support performance objective Pervasiveness- should be known by all members of the organisation Strength- the core value should be accepted by everyone The culture of the organisation is that it focusses on advancement and deliverance in accordance with public interest. The culture is set through effective leadership This is maintained by symbolic leader who establishes the symbol of the organisation and maintains the organisational culture QUESTION 3 What strategic and dynamic capabilities would you imagine these companies and the band possess in order to keep ahead of the competition and thrive in changing economic environments Strategic capabilities: Those that are difficult to imitate, are of value to the customer, and are better than those possessed by the majority of competitors. Dynamic capabilities: Physical (e.g. state-of-the-art equipment or advantageous location), organisational (e.g. outstanding sales force) and human (e.g. expertise in a specialised field). The strategic capabilities the Mercedes Benz, and other company as well as the band posses is Innovation Technical knowledge Quality of services. And as a result, the Mercedes are considered as forefront of technology It is well differentiated amongst other renown brands like BMW etc. The dynamic capabilities are The organisation kept up with the pace of the advancement QUESTION 4 Why do you think the food outlets discussed in the cases cant accept that they have to change their staffing practises in the face of the mining boom. ANSWER It may be due to environment uncertainty This occurs when there is less information about the environment For instance, the restaurant could not adopt to the new culture in changing time, probably their customer services or the food menu Lack of management skills in relation to employers. CONCLUSION To conclude ,,it is clearly seen in the case study the positive organisational culture of Mercedes Benz and Haines signature boat. In competence to the other band names, Mercedes Benz are well in par to maintain its mark to be the best.
