Richter is their newest featured artist Kristi will now !e presented
in the Gallery"s Artist Showcase section for the next month
Kristi Richter was !orn and grew up in #hicago and now resides in
$ash%ille& Tennessee Art has always !een a priority& and she owes
her 'ealous interest due to her grandfather& who was a professional
commercial artist and had a studio in #hicago (er mother was
also an artist& so she inherited talent from !oth sides of the family
Kristi followed an art curriculum through high school& !ut it was
when she attended The American Academy of Art and #hicago
Academy of )ine Arts respecti%ely& that she really started to
understand her potential and how to express it (er studies
introduced her to the many facets of art such as ad%ertising& illustration& calligraphy& photography&
scratch!oard& a!stract& design& charcoal drawing with li%e models& and color schemes O%er time& she was
a!le to recogni'e her wea*nesses and sought ways to impro%e them& and she solidified her strengths
Kristi"s fa%orite medium is acrylics !ecause they !lend easily& dry +uic*ly and the colors are opulent and
%i!rant ,ost of her wor* is done in acrylics and has included pet portraits& posters and ad%ertisements
that are animal-related She has also written and illustrated a children"s !oo* a!out a dog which she would
li*e to pu!lish
Kristi"s definiti%e o!-ecti%e is to start a !usiness exclusi%ely doing pet portraits or a fa%orite wildlife creature
rendered in acrylics& scratch!oard& watercolor& a!stract& and cartoon She has designed a !usiness card
