imagePROGRAF PRINTERS GIVE ARTISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, AND GRAPHIC ARTS PROOFING PROFESSIONALS WHAT THEY NEED.
Guiding your customer toward the best large-format printing system available will give you the opportunity to demonstrate the
advantages of the imagePROGRAF solution over other brands. Once your customers compare, theyll realize all that Canon
imagePROGRAF has to offerand theyll thank you for it.
What Customers Need: Unparalleled Choice
All four Canon imagePROGRAF printers are designed using the same underlying technology. Neither Epson nor HP offers a
comparable 60-inch model that aligns with their 24" and 44" printers. So for customers who need multiple printer sizes or are
planning for future expansion, Canon offers unprecedented consistency in a variety of printer widths.
Same inks, print-head, print engine, and calibration technologies are used across all these new imagePROGRAF printer models.
Epson Stylus Pro 11880 60" printer uses a different eight-color ink system thats inconsistent with the Stylus Pro 7900
and 9900.
HP doesnt offer a 60" Designjet printer for color-critical graphics applications.
What Customers Need: Extraordinary Image Quality!
Canon imagePROGRAF printers are designed to offer significant advantages over Epson and HP when it comes to producing
hard-to-hit colors in the blue, red, and purple spectral ranges. Details in the mid-tones and dark areas are also better, giving
printed images a compelling perception of depth and realism.
Excellent image detail in the shadow areas and dark color tones
Highly durable, scratch-resistant pigment inks
More stable colors with LUCIA Ex inks low Delta E* rating
Life-like tones, vibrant saturated colors, subtle hues, and dramatic high-contrast monochrome images with detail and clarity
What Customers Need: The Digital Photo Solutions Canon Delivers
Perhaps no other company understands the requirements of the digital photography market better than Canon. If your customer
needs the confidence of working with a leaderfrom image capture to print outputthen Canon is their brand!
Only imagePROGRAF can offer your customers the creative possibilities and efficiencies made possible with a seamless
Canon-branded, camera-to-printer workflow option.
Canons Print Plug-in For Adobe Photoshop enables processing of 16-bit Adobe RGB images.
Canons wide color space enables more faithful color reproduction of images captured by sophisticated digital cameras, such as
the Canon EOS Digital SLR.
What Customers Need: Automated Color Management
Each imagePROGRAF printer in the iPFX400 Series includes a built-in color density sensor, designed to support high-precision
calibration and more exact color matching.
Epson offers an optional spectrophotometer for the 7900/9900, and the HP Z3200 includes an embedded spectrophotometer.
Canons Color Density Sensor provides the functionality needed for single device color calibration, but without the cost and
complications associated with Epsons and HPs spectrophotometers.
imagePROGRAF printers notify the user when its time to recalibrate.
What Customers Need: To Use The Media They Choose!
Unlike Epson, Canon is doing more to give customers the freedom to use the media they choose. In addition, many of the industrys
leading color management tools support imagePROGRAF printers new color management system for easier integration of user
media into existing workflows.

What Customers Need: Speed!
Whether your clients business is photography or print-making, if they want to make a profit, then they need to produce the work
quickly. Print speed impacts the rate and quantity of prints made in a day, as well as the business ability to meet deadlines and
provide reliable customer service. When it comes to speed, theres simply no comparison between these imagePROGRAF printers
and their Epson and HP counterparts.
High-quality printing is 17% faster than the Epson Stylus Pro 7900.
Epson Stylus Pro 7900 A1-sized in Super Photo mode is output in 12:52 minutes, while Canon imagePROGRAF using
A1 size in Highest mode is output in 10:36 minutes!
What Customers Need: Productivity!
These new imagePROGRAF printers include a wide range of productivity-enhancing features and functions that are
unavailable with Epson Stylus Pro printer models.
A large 250GB hard drive comes standard with the iPF9400, iPF8400, and iPF6450 printers. Epson doesnt offer
an embedded hard drive with its Stylus Pro printers, and the HP Designjet Z3200 only includes an 80GB drive.
Canons larger hard drive improves productivity by storing ready-to-print image files, thereby relieving the workload
from an operators host computer. Epson requires those customers who need to increase productivity to spend
thousands more on a RIP.
Canons Print Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop is updated to include an adjustment pattern setting to help users choose the
output they desire and new tint and tone options for black-and-white images.
Gallery wrap feature allows users to easily create gallery wrap prints for framing.
What Customers Need: Control!
Canon does more than Epson to help your customers monitor and control costs, giving them better insight into total
investment for each piece of artwork.
Canons Accounting Manager Function is designed specifically to help your customers track their actual print and
consumables costs.
With Canon imagePROGRAF printers, your customers have more freedom to choose the type and cost of the media
thats right for them.
