Simple present tense:(do)

Form:

Affirmative: Subject + do/does + [VERB] + s/es in third person + complement

Negative: Subject + auxiliary (dont, doesnt) + verb

Question: Auxiliary (do, does) + subject + verb
Wh + do/does + subject + verb

Answer: yes/no + subject + do/does
subject + verb + complement


Rules:

*Verbs which end in a consonant + y change the y to i and take -es
*Verb in simple form
*She, he and it use does (doesnt)

Examples:

I do work with my father in the newspaper

I dont work with my father in the newspaper

Do i work with my father?

Yes, i work
yes, i work with my father
no, i dont work
no, i do not work with my father

I work in the newspaper

Form:

Affirmative: Subject + to be + complement

Negative: Subject + auxiliary (am not, arent,isnt) + verb

Question: Auxiliary (to be) + subject + verb
Wh + to be + subject

Answer: yes/no + subject + to be
subject + to be + complement

Rules:

*To she, he and it use is (isnt)
*Verb in simple form
*To i use am (am not)
*To they, you and we use are(arent)



Examples:

Future:(will)

Form:

Affirmative: Subject + will + verb + complement

Negative: Subject + wont + verb + complement

Questions: will + subject + verb + complement
wh + will + verb + complement

Answer: yes/no + subject + will

*Verb in the simple form
*The auxiliary not is necessary in the interrogative

Examples:

I will buy new outfits

I wont buy new outfits

Form:

Affirmative: Subject + was/were + verb (past form)

Negative: Subject + wasnt/werent + verb (past form)

Questions: were/was + subject + verb
wh + auxiliary(did) + subject + verb simple form + complement

Answer: yes/no + subject + were/was
subject + verb (past form) + complement

Rules
*The verb use in past form (ed)
*The irregular verbs use in the special form

Rules:
*Use the verb in the past participle

Examples:

I have studied for the exam

I havent studied for the exam
