How does ENGL. 373 Technical Writing helps you in the attainment of the TIP graduate attributes?
This subject of Technical Writing is part of my attributes that helps me through my program
(BSMT). Technical writing is sometimes defined as simplifying the complex. Inherent in such a concise and
deceptively simple definition is a whole range of skills and characteristics that address nearly every field of
human endeavor at some level specially in my field in the ship. This course is very important because it is
very significant when it comes in technical communication, technical writing involves communicating
complex information to those who need it to accomplish some goals.
Technical writing provides an important complement to a scientific education. As a student in
Marine Transportation, it is a great help because it tends to increase my ability to express myself clearly
and precisely in writing and speaking due to my communication skills. Good technical writing results in
relevant, useful and accurate information geared to specifically targeted audiences in order to enable a set
of actions or activities on the part of the audience in pursuit of a defined goal. Technical writing is actually
aimed at the general consumer audience. TIP leads this course technical writing arouse the interest to be
professional in different aspects of the profession.
In technical writing it produces different technical documentation that helps people use a product or
service one of the example of this, the journal. These techniques in writing journals every meeting helps me
more to attain attributes of communication skills and professionalism and helps me also to master the
fundamental knowledge on how to organize and to manage some things that I've never done before that
leads me to required efficient and effective professional practice in the field of my specialization. This
course teaches me for becoming a really professional individual, make ways in order to see how they act
as a professional through treat everyone with respect, being friendly with others and understanding go a
long way toward creating an atmosphere of teamwork. I learned on how being a professional is, you admit
mistake, have to demonstrate the core values of professionalism such as good in speech, appropriate
attire, punctuality, self enthusiasm , self confident and dedication to yourself all of these aspects helps me
on how to attain the TIP graduate attributes.
