Product Description

Novaris Technologies DINsafe power line surge filters
are designed for effective protection against induced
transient overvoltages caused by lightning and other
events on AC and DC power supply circuits.

Versions are available for voltage ratings up to 240V
AC and are housed in a rugged metal enclosure with
DIN43880 compliant dimensions.

Operation

Multistage transient protection is utilised in every unit.
Metal oxide varistors, as the first stage, absorb the
majority of the energy. These components are
continuously monitored for integrity with full
protection indicated by a green LED on the top of the
case. A red LED indicates power ON.

The first stage is followed by a low pass LC filter that
further attenuates the let through voltage. The filter
also attenuates low-level noise and harmonics.

The third stage comprises metal oxide varistors. These
provide a final clamping circuit and protect against
impulses generated by the connected load. This is
particularly important when multiple loads are
connected. Do not exceed total filter ratings.

10 amp and 20 amp filters also feature external alarms.
These provide a clean changeover contact that may be
used to remotely monitor the status of the filter or as a
power fail indicator. The relay is normally energised
when power is applied.
