INTRODUCCIN

In English we have many words that we can use in order to refer to people or
things, those words are compounds of the word some, we have someone,
somebody, something, and others those are compound nouns and each one has
their own rules for their utilization.

In this investigation work I will explain the general rules for the utilization of the
compounds pronouns.

SOME
The verb is always singular after these compounds. And the compounds of Some
are Someone, somebody, something, somewhere.

SOMEONE
It is used to refer to a person, in affirmative sentences and in interrogative
sentences when they mean invitation or when an affirmative answer is expected.
Example: Someone left the keys in the car.

SOMEBODY
It is used in a similar way of someone, and also in affirmative sentences or
interrogative sentences when they mean invitation or when an affirmative answer is
expected.
Example: He knows somebody in France.

SOMETHING
It is used for referring to a thing, idea, fact etc when you do not know or say exactly
what it is.
Example: I want to do something interesting next weekend.

SOMEWHERE
It is used for referring to a place when you do not know or say exactly where.
Example: For next holidays I want to be somewhere in England.

ANY
Any can be used in the following ways: as a determiner (followed by a singular
countable noun) or as a pronoun (without a following noun).

ANYONE
Used instead of 'someone' when asking or saying whether there is even one
person or when it is not important which person you are referring to, because what
you are saying applies to everyone.
Example: Is there anyone at home?

ANYBODY
It is referred to a person when we use negative or interrogative sentences.
Example: Im not looking for anybody else.

ANYTHING
It is usually used in negatives or questions, instead of 'something' when saying or
asking whether there is one thing or even a small amount of something.
Example: Do you want anything from the supermarket?

ANYWHERE
Usually used in negatives or questions, used instead of 'somewhere' when you are
saying whether someone or something exists in even one place or goes to even
one place.
Example: I dont want to go anywhere with you.

NO
No can be used as an adverb (for giving an answer), before a comparative
adjective or adverb. As determiner. It is used for making a negative reply mainly
spoken.

NO ONE
It refers to any person.
Example: There was no one at the classroom.

NOBODY
It is used when we want to indicate that there isnt a person in any place, or refer to
any person.
Example: Nobody told me that today is your birthday.

NOTHING
Not anything that is important or worth thinking about.
Example: I saw nothing strange in the street.

NOWHERE
Not anything that is important or worth thinking about.
Example: Nowhere in the earth is free of pollution.

EVERY
Every is generally used before a singular countable noun. The only exceptions are
where every can be used in phrases like 'every three hours'.

EVERYONE
When everyone is a subject, it is used with a singular verb. In formal writing, a
pronoun or possessive adjective that refers to everyone is usually singular:
Everyone should bring his or her own lunch.
Example: Everyone is making the homework.

EVERYBODY
It refers to a group of people.
Example: Everybody at home is making a cake.

EVERYTHING
All the things, activities etc. that are involved in a situation.
Example: The earthquake destroys everything.

EVERYWHERE
Used for talking about a very large area such as a region, a country, or the whole
world.
Example: With Internet you can visit everywhere in the world.

CONCLUSION
As we can see the pronouns compounds can be used to refer to persons, things or
places in different way and now we know the rules that we must follow if we want
to use them in sentences.
