CYQUEST

3223 mineral processing aid is a synthetic

dispersant designed for use as grinding aids, slurry viscosity
reducers, and in scrubbing to remove slimes. They are also
effective as dispersants for conditioning phosphoric acid
sludge, and preventing consolidation of slurry during shipping.
Field Performance Case Histories
Classification Aid
Precious Metal Operation In a semiautogeneous
grinding mill, addition of 0.03 lb/ton (51 g/ton) of a
CYQUEST mineral processing aid increased overall plant
production by 10%-15%.
Precious Metal Operation To eliminate tramp
oversize in the cyclones, use of 0.1 lb/ton (50 g/ton) of a
CYQUEST mineral processing aid resulted in a 5%-10%
increase in production.
Desliming Aid
Heavy Sands Operation In a washing circuit,
addition of 0.2 lb/ton (100 g/ton) of a CYQUEST mineral
processing aid improved product recovery by 15%.
Fluidizing Aid
Pumping Operation 0.2 lb/ton (100 g/ton) CYQUEST
mineral processing aid added to a 57% slurry produced
a fluidity equal to a 35% slurry, resulting in decreased
pumping costs and increased plant throughput. At very
high dosages, the viscosity will increase due to
peptization; therefore, the dosage must be maintained
below this point. See Figure 1 below showing fluidity test
results.

satisfy most operating conditions.

Handling and Storage
CYQUEST 3223 mineral processing aid can be stored at temperature
ranges of 40F-90F (5-30C). Because of the viscosity of CYQUEST
3223 mineral processing aid, Cytec recommends that it be used at 60F
(16C) or higher to facilitate pouring. Freezing this product or heating it
to a temperature of 200F (95C), while not recommended, will not
harm its performance. After thawing, mix thoroughly before use.
CYQUEST 3223 mineral processing aid can be stored in and fed with
cast iron equipment.
Shipping
CYQUEST 3223 mineral processing aid is available in 55 gallon
(209 liter) nonreturnable lined steel drums and in 2,200-lb totes.
