Job Profile:
Analysts join as a part of one of the several Product Teams. All members of a Product
Team focus on delivering a service that is tangibly useful to the clients. A primary
requirement of analysts at CMIE is therefore to engage with our customers, understand
their needs and deliver on these.
Clients expect CMIE to deliver a robust, comprehensive and up-to-date database. The
analyst is expected to ensure that CMIE delivers such a credible database in its products.
To do this, the analyst is expected to build and maintain a comprehensive database. More
importantly, the analyst is expected to build and deliver the knowledge of such a database
including its sources, uses and limitations, and their changes over time.
Database building at CMIE is a very finely honed art. It is not the equivalent of punching
numbers into a spreadsheet. We build very large databases that involve several complex
algorithms and processes. The analyst is expected to gain complete mastery over these,
enrich his/her own knowledge, contribute to the further enrichment of the same and use
this knowledge to enhance the users experience.
Analysts are expected to interpret the data using statistical tools, make credible forecasts
and write reports in clear jargon-free Englishall with a view to help the customers.

Job Title: Business Executive
Job Profile:
The Business Executive is expected to thoroughly understand CMIE's offeringsthe
value they deliver and the services they offer to the prospective clients.
The Business Executive is expected to visualise a value proposition for clients based on
the client's requirements and the offerings provided by CMIE. It is important for the
Business Executive to be able to visualise and propose a clear tangible benefit to the
client by their subscribing to CMIE services.
The Business Executive should gain a perspective of the information business services in
India. CMIE offers an array of diverse databases and research outputs. These have a
correspondingly diverse set of applications. In many cases, clients have a choice of
solutions to their information needs. The Business Executive needs to understand this
space to be able to provide the best possible service to our clients.
CMIE's databases are knowledge-intensive, they are innovative and involve a fair deal of
technology. It is imperative that the Business Executive invests time and effort in gaining
a thorough understanding of these. Interactions with product team would be essential in
building this capability. We expect the Business Executives to be quick and clear in all
forms of communication.


Innovation in selling is appreciated at CMIE. The information business is prone to quick
changes in the market place. It is important for the Business Executives to understand
these changes and respond to them appropriately. In this regard, it is also important for
the Business Executives to communicate with the product teams, details regarding their
interactions with the clients and the intelligence they gather in the process of their various
interactions in the market.
The most important end-objective of the Business Executives is to generate business.
This involves the critical tasks of meeting targets, following up on payments and ensuring
that targets are met or exceeded and payments do come in time.

Qualifications required
The desired candidate should be a post graduate with specialisation in Finance or
Marketing
Must possess robust analytical and communication skills
The candidate should have a good understanding of financial statements of
companies, ratio analysis and basic economics

Compensation Package
Rs.350,000/- to Rs.450,000/- per annum depending on candidate's skills and the
ability to take higher responsibilities.
