Every generation of the SeaSmart Offshore Package solution
is a direct result of in-depth focus groups with senior
engineering teams from our customers around the world.
They cover everything from the operating implications of
different well uid mixtures, to layout restrictions of various rig
and ship types, to specic objectives for power, mechanical
drive, emissions and maintenance any conceivable aspect
can be introduced. We then synthesize feedback and data
from the separate customer sessions and explore system-
wide possibilities to achieve the collective goals.

proven
turbines
Your SeaSmart Offshore Package conguration can include one of
two industry-leading turbines.
The LM2500 marine gas turbine is a simple-cycle, two-shaft, high-
performance engine derived from GEs leading TF39 and CF6-6
aircraft engines. It consists of a gas generator, power turbine,
attached fuel and lube oil pumps, fuel control and speed governing
system, associated inlet and exhaust sections, lube and scavenge
systems as well as controls and devices for starting and monitoring
engine operation.
The PGT25+G4 is a 34-MW gas turbine consisting of an enhanced
LM2500+ G4 gas generator coupled with a two-stage, high-speed
power turbine module with increased ow capacity. It delivers high
efciency and reliability, fuel exibility and low emissions in both
mechanical drive and power generation applications. Comparisons
across a wide range of ambient conditions shows that during off-
ISO conditions, such as cold or hot days, the PGT25+G4 provides a
1020% power increase.
Easy to install and maintain, the LM2500 features marine
corrosion-resistant materials, minimized size, weight and space
requirements per horsepower, as well as high thermal efciency,
low fuel and airow per horsepower. Its simple modular design,
including split compressor casing, maximizes in-situ maintenance
capabilities such as in-place blade and vane replacement, in-place
hot section maintenance and accessible external fuel nozzles.
LM2500
PGT25+G4
Gas generator
The gas generator is upgraded for increased ow capacity
of the high pressure (HP) compressor and turbine. The
pressure ratio increases from 23.6 for the PGT25+ to 24.2 for
the PGT25+G4. Design changes have been limited to minor
blade and stationary vane airfoil adjustments that provide
the required mass ow increase. The HPT modications
include minor blade cooling improvements, material upgrades
proven in aircraft engine technologies for higher temperature
capability, adjustments to the compressor discharge
pressure seal to maintain optimum rotor thrust balance. For
DLE applications, the combustor heat shields are upgraded
with benets including eld replacement and reduced
maintenance.
Power turbine
The aerodynamic blading design provides high efciency
at both the design point and at reduced speed. The 6,100
rpm design enables direct coupling with driven equipment,
simplifying the system and enhancing overall efciency
and availability. The cartridge philosophy signicantly
reduces maintenance intervals, cutting costs and increasing
availability. Optimized cooling ows, in conjunction with the
latest generation of seals, increases component life and
maintains the efciency at peak.
Major components:
16-stage, 18:1 pressure ratio compressor with seven stages of
variable stators and inlet guide vanes
Fully annular combustor with externally mounted fuel nozzles
Two-stage, air-cooled, high-pressure turbine that drives the
compressor and the accessory-drive gearbox
Six-stage, aerodynamically coupled, low-pressure power turbine
driven by the gas generators high-energy exhaust gas ow
Technology highlights

Our new inlet plenum design achieves smoother air suction with less turbulence for overall
optimized inlet ow. Built with composite materials for signicant weight reduction, it is also
fully compatible with existing GT inlet intakes.
superior
adaptation
Size and weight are critical factors offshore, so we continually explore new ways
to reduce them. But our commitment doesnt end there. While the strongest
design traits carry forward, we also inject our latest rigorously tested and
proven technologies and design features to even further increase performance,
maintainability and availability.
Game changers in our latest package are signicant design advances
in three key areas:
Inlet plenum ow efciency and weight reduction
Turbine enclosure simplication for improved maintenance access
Filtration efciency
Maintenance requirements are further reduced and simplied through a variety
of other features like 4H lock-out, 8k BSI, fast turbine exchange, an on-line
washing system, as well as improvements in ergonomics and safety.
From each generation of the SeaSmart Offshore Package solution to the next, we
are truly delivering bigger things in smaller and smarter packages.
The newltration systemincludes HEPA lters that are 99%efcient, water tight and salt repellent with a
high burst pressure and pre-lters that eliminate 97%of water content. Even the lter house structure
itself has been redesigned to enhance overall package performance.
The redesigned modular turbine enclosure simplies access to enable regular generator
maintenance in far less time, as well as easier turbine replacement and upgrades as
technologies advance.
