Ford India Private Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company in India.
Ford India Private Limited's head quarters are located in Chengalpattu, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It
currently is the 6th largest car maker in India after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, and
Chevrolet
FIPL's main manufacturing plant has a capacity of 100,000 vehicles annually. After the release
of Ford Figo, company invested $500 million to increase the capacity to 200,000
Mahindra Ford India Limited (MFIL) in October 1995 was started with a 50-50 venture
with Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. Ford Motor Company increased its interest to 72% in
March 1998 and renamed the company Ford India Private Limited
Ford has around 10,000 employees (approx). Out of which 4500 are contract employees, 2000
are technicians, 1,500 are trainees, 1,000 are staffs and 1,000 are apprentices

motor company; he will be taken care by this department

Co-ordinated with a CSR activity
Ford help people suffering because of Thane cyclone by providing Food packets, biscuit packets
and used cloths. Trainee co-ordinated to send it across
Took in charge of distribution of Ford T-Shirts
Ford has a practice of issuing a T-shirt to all the on roll employees after the release of a new
model car with the cars name written on it. There were around 4700 T-shirts and the trainee
successfully completed the task of distributing to the respective department
Helped updating apprentice data
Trainee checked the information available in apprentice completion certificate with the master
copy and made the changes
Co-ordinated for the Family visit
Twice in every month, around 10 employees would be selected based on a lot and then bring
their family to the factory for a visit
Managing personal files of employees
Files of all the employees were sorted based on the employee number
Filing of contractors files
Contractors files were also maintained by the trainee
Took part in the contractors audit
Trainee had a chance of taking part in the contractors audit. ESI Chelan and PF Chelan were
checked in the audit
