Preface
Returning to the new cycle of ArtGemini Prize, it gives me great
pleasure to present the latest array of works by artsts who are taking
part in this years competton. The diversity and range of talent on
display in submissions for the 2014 prize is truly astounding, and
hugely gratfying for the organising commitee. Last years ArtGemini
Prize brought together a thrilling total of 744 works from 33 countries
across the world. This years tally is more impressive - with entries
from 44 countries. The internatonal response once again is a welcome
validaton of the ratonale for the launch of this new prize.
The inaugural 2013 cycle was a culminaton of many months of
preparaton afer the idea of the prize was born. I am humbled and
honoured by the contnued enthusiastc response this year by artsts,
art curators, partner organisatons and colleagues and friends.
My thanks go to all those who have lent their generous support to the
prize including the Selecton Commitee and the sponsors of its
various elements.
I look forward to working with artsts, art organisatons and art
sponsors for the next editon, the ArtGemini Prize 2015.

Foreword
Since its launch in 2012 and the successful conclusion of its frst cycle
in 2013, ArtGemini Prize has widened its consttuency, reaching out to
artsts from an astounding variety of disciplines across the world. A
spirited internatonal response to the 2013 prize produced enough
confdence to increase the cumulatve prize fund from 5,000 to 5,500
for this years awards.
An added boost this year has been the launch of collaboratve projects
with the Singapore Art Fair, a prestgious gathering of internatonal
artsts strategically placed in a cultural hub of exceptonal repute. Any
new art prize could not have wished for a more satsfying start than
the recepton accorded ArtGemini Prizes launch cycle in 2013. Artsts
from 33 countries working in an impressive diversity of genres and
styles competed for internatonal recogniton, with results that laid the
groundwork for this years more ambitous endeavours in London and
Singapore. Internatonal response to this years prize is already seen to
be greater than in 2013. The inclusive appeal of ArtGemini Prize
contnues to draw artsts and, as before, has been apparent in new
entries.
As ArtGemini Prize moves into the next cycle it remains steadfast in
pursuing its stated mission of helping artsts achieve those goals
irrespectve of geographical borders.
