Whether governments should give financial aid to

musical and artistic areas remains controversial.

Some people think that this decision can promote
the image of national culture while others claim
that it can endanger governmental budget. I
strongly agree with the former idea for the
following reasons.
For
- Psychology of individuals and nations
- Educational effects
- Economic value
- Cultural and political benefits
Strong tradition
Against
- Unfair
- Waste of money
Firstly, the belief is that this policy results in
inequity between different fields. Those people
who work in education and health care find that
their contributions are not appreciated as much as
artists and musicians, followed by their declining
motivation. Nevertheless, it can hardly be denied
that artists have struggled with low salaries over
the years, which affects their quality of art and
undermines our tradition. No sooner are they given
sufficient financial support than they feel indebted
to government and try their best to give birth to
wonderful creations to glorify the image of their
countries. Besides, artistic products are mentally
powerful and influential. Surveys have shown that
citizens, after enjoying beautiful artworks, find
their mind at peace, feel inspired and continue
beautifying their tradition through their current
jobs.
Second, it is argued that it is a huge waste of
money to increasingly invest in these fields. Facts
have shown while countries like Vietnam are still
experiencing financial difficulties and dealing with
epidemics, it would be unwise to pour so much
into such luxurious fields like arts or music.
Nevertheless, a strong tradition is created by a
strong economy. Such nations like Korea, America
which have seen a significant growth in artistic and
entertaining fields have generated a great amount
of profit to develop their countries. Furthermore,
born and growing up in nations where arts and
drama are encouraged, children can deeply learn
their cultures at the early age through wonderful
works and cultivate their patriotism. Imagine how
much country lose when their children have little
idea about their origin, culture and others,
especially in times of globalization like today.
- Patriotism: long yeu nuoc
- Unwise: khong khon ngoan, ngu ngoc
Art is a crucial part in our life. Some people think
that the quality of prize winning art-work is
continuously declining its real value while others
claim that the true work of art still exists and even
more develops . I partly agree with the latter view
for the following reasons.
Whether the quality of art is declining remains
controversial. Some people claim that the
economic and educational growth have a positive
effect on art while others think that artistic quality
is put in danger in the modern world. I strongly
disagree with the statement for the following
reasons.
It is, firstly, believed that the quality of art declines
because of economic reason. Some people who
want to earn more profit are ready to create sex-
arousing or violent works to attract youngsters.
Nevertheless, this might be true of a certain group
of people who come to art for pure profit. Living in
a knowledge-based society like today, people can
access art more easily and learn art from different
sources, even at the early age, followed by their
better understanding of art. In addition, with the
living standards being enhanced significantly,
people are free from daily worry and bury
themselves in rich mental world. By dint of this,
more art-works are born and appreciated.
Secondly, the argument is that technology
undermines the value of art. While artists in the
past spent long time and effort creating true art-
works, those of today just use technological tools
to copy and paste their artistic products. Yet,
technology, if used appropriately, actually provides
artists with more opportunities to come up with
creative ideas. By applying computer tools, artists
can produce their cartoon pictures and draw as
much as possible. Furthermore, the opinion of
people about art changes over the time as a result
of social and political factors. Whereas people in
the past highly valued cubic pictures, those today
put more emphasis on personal display among art-
works. Equally important, true art-works are still
here to stay. Such products by Picasso and other
famous artists show timeless value from humanity,
education to nature.
In brief, the quality of art does not wane, and in
fact, wax in the modern life thanks to better
education, economic living and its true value.
- Wane: decline
- Wax: increase
- Cubic: thuoc ve khoi vat the
