Summary- This magazine front cover shows stereotypical conventions however
subverts away also. This is a fashion magazine aimed for middle aged woman and also
interesting to teenagers. The purpose of this magazine is too intrigue young woman
into the current fashion styles but also includes real life anecdotes which can be
applicable to the audience. The masthead Glamour is placed at the top of the front
cover which in conventional of a stereotypical magazine, its in capital letters filled
in a bold pink. The background, in this case, is white which the main image of the
celebrity Cheryl Cole, placed on the background, is wearing a white top with
flowered patterns holding a golden camera. The main headline is Cheryl which is
written in a bold black font in contrast to the other cover lines that are written in
pink which the information of the article written in black. The cover lines are
written on both sides of the main image which in unconventional of a stereotypical
magazine.

The main colour used on the front cover is pink because its seen to be a
stereotypical girl colour which is the targeted audience for the fashion genre, it
helps the audience relate to the magazine and have an understanding about what
the articles may include. The lighting used on the image is exposed on Cheryls
skin to show to the audience how flawless she is and can be seen as a fashion
icon to young girls. She is using a direct gaze to draw in the audience to read the
magazine but also portrays a positive attitude with the use of a smile which can
help the audience have an optimistic attitude towards glamour as it could make
you a happier person. The use of white clothing on the model can also make the
audience feel like you dont need clothing to make you stand out from the
background your personality is enough. The props used is a camera held by the
model, suggesting that she is taking a picture of the reader which shows a
