Course Title Architectural Design 7- Community Architecture and Urban Design Course code Design 741 Credit Units 5 Units Course Co/Prerequisites Architectural Design 6 Course Description:
Design exercises giving emphasis on the socio-cultural activities of man, architectural conservation, proxemics and \ materials for architecture and designing with nature.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes
This course prepares the student to apply the architectural design process with the integration of community architecture in an urban setting. Development of large-scale projects on the basis of sustainable architecture and designing for energy efficient structures. This will include overview of the importance of historical preservation/restoration of structures.
After completing this course, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
1. learn more complex architectural forms emphasizing design applications of basic urban design principles 2. further understand architectural relationships with the environment 3. design for communities with an understanding of site development and planning
