Abstract

The purpose of this Technical Bulletin is to describe the Service Pack 1 patches for
Release 6.3.1.4. Service Pack 1 is being tracked by CQ-76620.

Description

Release 6.3.1.4 Service Pack 1 includes seventeen (17) patches to resolve the
problems described in the table below. For additional information on the items listed, see
the associated Technical Bulletin that CQ.

Persistent Patch Install Procedure

The following persistent patch is for the 6.3.1.4 build only. The patch must be installed
during a maintenance window, when the BSR 64000 is relatively quiescent.

NOTE: Always transfer the persistent patch file in binary format and not ASCII
format. Failure to do so may insert, change, or remove characters in the patch file which
may cause issues with the installation and operation of the patch. Because the filename

has a .txt extension, most GUI-based FTP programs will automatically transfer this file in
ASCII mode. Use the verify md5 command on the BSR 64000 CLI to verify the integrity
of the patch file.

Do the following to apply the patch:

1. If present, remove individual patches that this Service Pack includes. Otherwise, skip
to the next step. For example, to remove the patch for CQ69180:

BSR64K:7A(config)#no patch install flash:patch_cq69180_6314.txt

Note: Earlier individual patches remain in memory, and are therefore still in effect,
until the affected module(s) or the BSR is reset.

2. Perform an MD5 verification by running the following command and ensure it returns
the statement, "Message digests are the same."

3. Enter config mode.

4. Install the patch.

5. Make the patch configuration persistent.

6. Note: If an issue resolved by a patch included in this Service Pack is happening prior
to installing the Service Pack, follow any instructions for clearing the condition in that
patchs Technical Bulletin, or reload the BSR to clear any existing issues.
