Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is hard to believe that we are hurtling into November and the days shorter and nights longer.
In the United States of America it is traditionally the month the national observance of thanksgiving is upheld. Giving thanks is something we can overlook in aspects of our lives and many things we take for granted. I am reminded of the ten lepers in scripture that J esus cleansed and healed and only one of them returned to thank Him for the amazing change in his life. Giving thanks to someone holds something profound. It should, in its truest sense and when properly meant, convey a deep appreciation to someone we have had a transaction with, a gift received or something that has made the person go out of their way to do for us. Thanksgiving can be given in many other ways too.
I want to personally thank you all as parishioners for all your ongoing work ethic and output in the parishes and at this time to thank you all for all your work over the harvest season. Services on the whole were well attended and we give thanks most of all to God for His abundant care to us, His provision in our lives and His unconditional love. We thank the Lord for His son J esus, that He is our Saviour, that He surrendered His life for us upon a cross and I pray that in our deep gratitude to God the Father that our lives are given totally to Him, thanking Him that the greatest gift given to humankind can be ours and that the transaction of sins, that are ours, were substituted onto His son J esus, our Lord.
Thanks too to Brigitte for putting this newsletter together.
God bless
Geoffrey

Sunday School at St Nicholas', Dundalk Notice to all parents and guardians of children aged 4-12 and who attend or belong to St Nicholas' church in Dundalk. Many of you are aware that we have a Sunday school for the children the first three Sundays of every month which is held during service time. The children are brought to church by parents and guardians first and then during a point in the service they go into St Richards side chapel with their teachers for age appropriate Sunday school. The children then return into the church at the end of the service. We just want to encourage more children to come along, especially those who maybe don't attend yet or who don't know about the Sunday school. You are all very welcome. The fourth Sunday of each month will not have a Sunday school but there will be a children's slot in the service in the church so feel free to keep bringing your children along.
Mothers Union Our next meeting will be our Annual General Meeting in the Wellington Hall on Monday 24th Novemberr at 8pm, followed by tea. New members most welcome. For more information on the Mothers' Union, please contact Gillian Patterson on 042 9379211 or visit www.mothersunion.ie
Parish Bible Study There will be a Parish Bible Study beginning on the 13th November at 7.30pm in the Wellington Hall. This will run fortnightly and is open to all parishioners and friends that they may want to bring along. Bible Study is an essential part of our walk with the Lord both individually and corporately. The bible feeds, guides, challenges, strengthens, comforts, corrects, enlightens and delivers truth to our lives amongst other facts that it holds. Bible study together hopes to be a time of fellowship, learning together and sharing as we learn more about God, his character, his love and his will for our lives. Please think seriously about it and we trust that it will be a growing experience spiritually for us all. Hope to see you there. Services in November 2014
