INSPECTION NOTES

Visual inspection of the platform assemblies was carried out in order to address the extent of the galvanised layer defects. The
inspection at the subcontractor premises has been requested by Jacobs after Portastor have raised the concerns regarding the
quality of the galvanised components.
All components have been closely inspected and photographed by JB and IH; client inspectors have confirmed that all defects
need to be repaired. Platforms grating have also been checked (grating is not getting painted) and few defects were highlighted
for repairs.
Paint procedure for platforms have been reviewed by IH and JB (client inspectors were informed that the paint procedure is
still to be approved by the client).
Client inspector IH have also suggested that all the drain holes should be sealed with plastic seals.
The NCR issued during previous inspection have been given to Brightstar AH

As agreed with IH and JB all defects should be repaired to conform to the specification and when completed all
platforms and handrails will be inspected in York.

Components selected for further rework will be monitored by Brighstar and upon completion of galv repair full paint
system will be applied to the affected areas
Note:
Bare metal areas exposed during galv repairs will be treated with one coat of zinc rich Sigmazinc 109HS prior to full
paint system application.
