Purpose of study
The purpose of the study of topic Opinion of MBA
aperients about the Shivaji University with special
reference to students of BBA- III CIMDR College is:-
Where the students are less affected to the
university or the main purpose to this topic can be seen
it to that students mind has been influenced by the
senior students or other peoples such as parents, family
members, and primary school teachers etc. Due to
which students are choosing the other universities.

Research methodology | Mini Project Report 10

Objectives of study

1. To study the students opinion about shivaji
University
2. To find out the causes for various opinions
3. To study the university preferences for doing
MBA.
4. To find how many BBA students are interested in
doing MBA

Type of Research

Quantitative Research :-
Quantitative research refers to the
systematic empirical investigation of social phenomena
via statistical, mathematical or computational
techniques. The objective of quantitative research is to
develop and employ mathematical models, theories
and/or hypotheses pertaining to phenomena. The
process of measurement is central to quantitative
research because it provides the fundamental
connection between empirical observation and
mathematical expression of quantitative relationships.
Quantitative data is any data that is in numerical form
such as statistics, percentages, etc. In layman's terms,
this means that the quantitative researcher asks a
specific, narrow question and collects numerical data
from participants to answer the question. The
researcher analyses the data with the help of statistics.
The researcher is hoping the numbers will yield an
unbiased result that can be generalized to some larger
population. Qualitative research, on the other hand,
asks broad questions and collects word data from
participants. The researcher looks for themes and
describes the information in themes and patterns
exclusive to that set of participants.
Research methodology | Mini Project Report 12

Scope and Variables of Research

Scope :-
In the study of this topic, scope is limited only for
BBA III last year students of Chintamanrao Institute of
Management Development and Research, Sangli. Here
study is only limited to the MBA aspirants.

Variables :-
Here we are involving two different variables i.e.,
Students above distinction and students under
distinction. We have selected 9 students above distinction
and 8 students below distinction.

Research methodology | Mini Project Report 13

Sampling Method

Simple random sampling:-
In a simple random sample ('SRS') of a given size, all such subsets of the frame
are given an equal probability. Each element of the frame thus has an equal
probability of selection: the frame is not subdivided or partitioned.
Furthermore, any given pair of elements has the same chance of selection as
any other such pair (and similarly for triples, and so on). This minimizes bias
and simplifies analysis of results. In particular, the variance between individual
results within the sample is a good indicator of variance in the overall
population, which makes it relatively easy to estimate the accuracy of results.
However, SRS can be vulnerable to sampling error because the randomness of
the selection may result in a sample that doesn't reflect the makeup of the
population. For instance, a simple random sample of ten people from a given
country will on average produce five men and five women, but any given trial
is likely to overrepresented one sex and underrepresent the other. Systematic
and stratified techniques, discussed below, attempt to overcome this problem
by using information about the population to choose a more representative
sample.
SRS may also be cumbersome and tedious when sampling from an unusually
large target population. In some cases, investigators are interested in research
questions specific to subgroups of the population. For example, researchers
might be interested in examining whether cognitive ability as a predictor of job
performance is equally applicable across racial groups. SRS cannot
accommodate the needs of researchers in this situation because it does not
provide subsamples of the population. Stratified sampling, which is discussed
below, addresses this weakness of SRS.
Here we are selected 20 students randomly from our class for the
investigation. Simple random sampling method is used for selecting of these
different students.

Method Used for Data Collection

Questionnaire:-
A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of
questions and other prompts for the purpose of gathering information
from respondents. Although they are often designed for statistical
analysis of the responses, this is not always the case. The questionnaire
was invented by Sir Francis Galton.
Questionnaires have advantages over some other types of surveys
in that they are cheap, do not require as much effort from the
questioner as verbal or telephone surveys, and often have standardized
answers that make it simple to compile data. However, such
standardized answers may frustrate users. Questionnaires are also
sharply limited by the fact that respondents must be able to read the
questions and respond to them. Thus, for some demographic groups
conducting a survey by questionnaire may not be practical.
A distinction can be made between questionnaires with
questions that measure separate variables, and questionnaires
with questions that are aggregated into either a scale or index.
Questionnaires within the former category are commonly part
of surveys, whereas questionnaires in the latter category are
commonly part of tests.

CONCLUSION
Most of the BBA students wanting to MBA for
Business purpose whether it is expansion of family business
or starting new business. But still Most of these students do
not prefer Shivaji University. The main reason behind this
opinion can be lack of education quality, and less
infrastructural facilities.
Many students think that there are less job
opportunities after doing MBA from Shivaji University. It is
not true, there are opportunities in different jobs and it
depends on how students develop them self and their own
skill and abilities.
Thus we can conclude that the Shivaji University is
good for doing MBA or any other post-graduation. But there
is requirement to create a positive awareness among
students so they can start preferring Shivaji University.
