Hello Stephen
I have found out some Information aobut my Ridge side of the family. Apparently my great
grandfathers name was Oakley Ridge, his family was one of the first families to live in
Waynesviiie, Ohio. But basicaiiy that is ail the info i can find. The library in Waynesviile
says they have alot of Info on the Ridgefamily there but since I live in Florida, itwould be
kind of hard to get the info I am lookingfor. if find on out any more info let me know.

I am researching the ancestors and or relatives of Oakley Ridge from Waynesviile, Ohio.
He was a full blooded Sioux Indian. He was probably born around 1840. He married
Compton. Their son who is my grandfather was Hugh Carroll Ridge, who was born in
Waynesviile, Ohio. HughCarroll Ridge was born on August 13th. I am not sure of the year
he was born in though. Any help with information on the relatives or ancestors of Oakley
Ridge would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry that it took me so longto get backto you message but I just noticed you posting. Here is the
Information that I have found on my family.
1) grandfather (Ohio): Hugh Carrol Ridge b. aprrox 1893
grandmother (Ohio): Irene Clinton Ridge
Children: my father John C. Ridge (b. Pittsburg Perm)
2) great grandfather (Ohio): Charles Oakley Mahlon Ridge b. about
1867
great grandmother (Ohio): Alberta (Bertie) Compton Ridge
Children: KermethRidge, C. Forrest Ridge, Hugh C. Ridge,
and Another male who died at birth
3) gggrandfather (Ohio): Mahlon Ridge b. around 1845
Mahlon's sisters: Martha and Rachael Ridge
gggrandmother (from Virginia) Catherine Ridge
Cannot find info on her maiden name.
Children: Oakley C. Ridge, and (David C. Ridge by a
second marriage to Orpah (Ayer) Ridge.
4) ggggrandfather: Thomas Ridge b. 1805?
ggggrandmother (Ohio): Elizabeth Ridge (No Maiden Name?)
George W. Ridge may have been related to my gggrandfather Mahlon Ridge. Mahlon had two sisters:
Martha and Rachael.
There is an obvious American Indian influence in my family. You can easily see the Indian features in
my Father and pictures of my grandfathers, although I am not sure where it comes from. It seems as

though my family haskept thispart of the family quite and hard to find. My father is not real sure of
his ancestry but he knows that is of Indian/English heritage. I amalsoaware that a lot of the Ridges
from this Area of Ohio are of QuakerHeritage but I believe my family is related to (Brown's and
Roger's) from Tenessee (This information I found ThroughWaynesville records). (Other names
related to my family are Kitchen, Clinton, and Compton).
Onceagainsorryabout takingso longabout getting backto your message. I hopethis helps.
