There is two types of GTMU :

1- GTMU TYPE A
2- GTMU TYPE B (NoKced in Label)

To establish the transmission between the NodeB-RNC or the BTS-BSC ,
Huawei provide the Abis Over Ip soluKon as below :

CASE 1 : GTMU TYPE A

Connect the GTMU to UMPT by

Ethernet cable or OpKcal Fiber

CASE 2 : GTMU TYPE B

The GTMU & UMPT are connected by

a tunnel congured by the OMC

1- The OMC personnel provide a plan

table of sites that will support Abis Over Ip
to site engineer
2- The site engineer check up the type of
the GTMU used (Type A or B) , the ESN of
the site and send it to the OMC personnel
3- The OMC personnel prepare the
conguraKon scripts and remotely
congure the sites
4- The site engineer supervise the
operaKon in terms to connect GTMU to
UMPT and clean the alarms .
5 - The OMC personnel noKce the site
engineer that the site is ON Air .

- Eth cable : FE0 (UMPT) to FE0 (GTMU)
- FO : FE/GE1 (UMPT) to FE1 (GTMU)
Type B : The site engineer supevise the opera>on

I had the opportunity to assist to the Co-trans operaKon with Abis Over IP on
Mohammadia , supervised by the site engineer El mounsi Yassine in coordinaKon
with the OMC personnel mr.Mehdi at INWI .

For two weeks from 13 to 24 October , we had 14 sites 2G & 3G in Mohammadia ,
8 Sites with GTMU type A and 6 sites GTMU type B as below :
