Initial Idea 1

There is a stamp over the face of the actor in red

with the word denied. This adds confusion to why
the actor has been denied and what has he been
denied from. The stamp being the only coloured
aspect of the poster attracts a lot of attention.

At the top of the poster the main actors names

are shown in a row. This is used to draw
attention to fans of the actors who may not be
shown in the poster. Well-known actors will
cause people to watch the film.

The main lead covers

most of the poster. The
actor is starring directly at
the audience, almost like
a passport photo. This
direct stare adds unease
for the audience and
creates a dramatic effect
on the poster. The actors
is cut off at his shoulders.
The use of an actors face
can attract an audience if
the actor is well known.

The text for the Title is

formatted into a business
print to look like a
company logo. The A, V
in the title are in a shape
of arrows to represent
heaven and hell and
hows ones up and the
other is down. The title
also has a science fiction
feel which fits in with the
genre of the film as it has
a science fiction element

The background of
the poster fades form
white to grey. This is
used to show the
difference from good
and bad and how the
main character is in
the middle. The blank
background also adds
more emphasis onto
the actors face
causing it to stand
out

At the bottom of the poster in small writing all of the

corporate details are written including the release
date and the name of the director and copyright
information. This is used so if the viewer wants to
get any other information on the film it will be listed
at the bottom.

The tag line is placed

underneath the title
and is written in a
different font this is
used to differentiate
the title from the
tagline. The tagline
itself references that
hell is a long trip
down and adds more
to the idea of heaven
and hell in the
poster.

The Title of the film is at the top of the poster and is in large black font. This
makes it contrast from the white background. The Font is formed in lines to
give the effect of a staircase. This font is also used to give a science fiction
effect and the large block characters allow the title to be read at a distance.

The tagline for the

poster is formed in
stairs also. This is
used to represent
the text Its a long
trip down as the
text is declining in a
stair formation. The
font used is again
large black block
letters so standout
from the white
background

In small writing the

bottom corners of the
page the production
companys logo is
shown. This is used to
credit the production
company and also
attract fans of the
company to come and
watch the film. A certain
well know production
logo can attract a lot of
viewers as they have
maybe had pervious
good experiences with
this company.
The main effect of this poster is to be simple but effective. Not much information can be taken
from just looking at it alone but that leaves the audience the ability to speculate on what the
film is and what the story may include. The poster supplies some hits towards heaven and hell
also corporations.

The White background

is used to make the
silhouette and the text
stand of the page. If I
chose to improve this
initial idea I would add
a small amount of grey
scale to the
background. The
white background can
also attract the eye
due to the massive
contrast.

At the bottom of the

poster is a black
silhouette which is in
the shape of a
business man. The
man has bright red
devil horns which
represent that his is
Satan. The red is the
only colour used in
the poster which
makes them stand
out and gives them
the most definition
on the poster. The
silhouette is placed
at the bottom of the
page to represent
him being down in
hell. He is also
positioned under the
tagline to represent
the long trip down.

The slightly open door has a white bright light behind it. The light is
stretching into the otherwise dark room and lighting the area. Nothing
can be seen through the door which represents heaven. This light works
on the old saying of the light at the end of the tunnel. The walls of the
room and door are shown to be white which can also represent heaven
as white is used for the clouds and it has become common for the
representation of heaven for everything to be white.

The title of the poster is written down

the side of the page. This is used to give
more effect onto the door in the centre
of the poster. The font is also in white
block capitals to stand out from the dark
background and also make the text easy
to read at a distance.

The tagline isnt used

within this poster as I
dont think it would
work well with the
image being shown. The
poster uses the effect of
simplicity to its best
attribute as it leaves
thousands of questions
to the audience.

The Actors name in the

film is listed at the
bottom of the poster.
This is used to draw
fans of these actors to
watch the film. The 5
biggest actors in the
film will be shown
here. The font colour is
in black to make the
text stand out from the
blue background.
