India is the major contributor of Tea supply all over the world. India itself consumes
large share of its tea production which is nearly 70% and exports the remaining tea to other
countries. It is mainly involved in Large scale production. Nearly 20 million peoples are
employed in the Tea plantation & processing activities. Tea plantations are mainly located in
rural hills and backward areas of India. Especially in Southern States of India, Tamilnadu is
remarkably contributing its best part of tea production in Nilgiris. Tamilnadu

Corporation (TAN Tea) is well known in the Tea Market for its quality and contribution towards
society. There are more than 5500 labours directly and indirectly employed and involved in the
tea plantation. Here the welfare amenities are closely monitored by the government officials.
But there are no clear processes for welfare measures inside many organisations and that
what provision there is, is often only focused on key talent groups such as graduates and
managers. Labour welfare may be viewed as a total concept and as a relative concept. The total
concept is a desirable state of existence involving the physical, mental, moral and economical
well-being. These four elements together constitute the structure of the welfare implies the
welfare of man, his family and community. Obviously, that every labours welfare needs successful
should be covered and satisfied for the organizational development, which is basically about the
labours perception.
Effective welfare support by employers to their labours in the workplace meets both
business and individual needs. It will only be sustainable if the mutual benefit is clear to both
parties. Paying attention to welfare measures are particularly important as the workforce
becomes increasingly diverse: the performance of all labours matters to the company as well as
to the individuals. So the researcher has decided to analyse the welfare measures provided in
