PERSONAL PROTECTION
Provide a shower, a powerful tap and sink unit and an eye basin near the work place.
Respiratory protection: during brush electrolysis, provide as far as possible an inhaling of the sprays / vapours where
they are created and extraction out of the premises, or work in a ventilated room and wear if necessary a filtering
FFP3 mask (EN 149:2001 standard).
Hand protection: wear gloves (in latex or nitrile for example).
Eye protection: wear glasses with lateral protections. Do not wear contact lenses.
Skin protection: wear overalls and safety boots.

10 - STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
STABILITY
Good at ambient temperature with water evaporation for only risk.
Good in humidity and light (possible slight yellowing).
CONDITIONS TO AVOID
Decomposition of some constituents from 150C.
MATERIALS TO AVOID
Contact with bases and powerful oxidising agents (nitrates), in particular if the preparation has been accidentally
concentrated or dehydrated.
HAZARDOUS THERMAL DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS
Beginning of polyacids growth at around 150C and then notably of carbon oxides and unsaturated anhydrides.

11 - TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No data are available regarding the preparation. The evaluation of health hazards has been realised thanks to
directives 67/548/EC, 1999/45/EC and bibliographical data.
SKIN
The risk of skin allergy is probably very small because of the low concentration in formaldehyde.
EYE MUCOSA
Can become irritating in case of contact if rinsing with water is not immediately realized.
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Slightly irritating if the electrolysis is performed without an inhaling of the sprays over the workplace.
Formaldehyde can cause respiratory allergies on some sensitive people.
IN CASE OF INGESTION
Possible gastrointestinal troubles if the swallowed quantity is large.
OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES: table n43, for formaldehyde (in France).

12 - ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
There are no ecological data on the preparation.
In general, a pH lower than 5 is fatal.
ECOTOXICITY
The components are not considered as dangerous for the aquatic environment.
MOBILITY - PERSISTENCE AND DEGRADABILITY - BIOACCUMULATIVE POTENTIAL OTHER ADVERSE
EFFECTS
According to the available data, the compounds in this preparation are easily biodegradable and are not bioaccumulative.
According to the applicable EC directives, it is not appropriate to apply theN symbol DANGEROUS FOR THE
ENVIRONMENT to this preparation.

13 - DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
This product and water used for rinsing must not be thrown away notably because of their acidity and their content in
metals after use. They must be processed within the firm or destroyed by an approved organization.
Contaminated packaging if not re-used with the same product is also special waste to be sent to an approved
organization for recycling or disposal.
Classification according to the commission directive 2000/532/EC of 3 May 2000 and its modifications (in particular
2001/118/EC, OJ L47). Use the mandatory documents to follow-up the waste products.

Packaging containing residues of or contaminated by dangerous
substances
As the volume of rinsing water is small, it can be added to the waste solutions.
NOTE: in addition to the community provisions, it can be specific legislative and administrative, national or local
provisions on this topic.

HEALTH SURVEILLANCE
Council Directive 98/24/EC of 7 April 1998 on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the risks related to
chemical agents at work
An appropriate health surveillance of workers must be carried out according to the risk.
For each worker who undergoes this health surveillance, individual health and exposure records are to be made and kept
up-to-date.
