SYNOPSIS
This course combines the knowledge on two prime areas; mainly structural steel design and timber
design, and their relevant codes of practice and design procedures.
COURSE OUTCOMES (CO)

CO1 - Acquire and apply technical knowledge of basic fundamentals on relevant codes of practice for
design of structural steel and timber structures.
CO2 - Have in-depth understanding on basic design components involved in each design case.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

PO1 - Ability to acquire and apply basic knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering.
PO3 - Ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
PO4

- Ability to use a system approach to design and evaluate operational performance.

PO10 - Having technical competency and ability to apply to specific Civil Engineering discipline.
