Cross Examination

Hannah: Good evening witness. Your name is Melvin Singco, right?

Hannah: Where do you live?
Hannah: I assume that you live by the mission and vision of your
profession? And I believe you also remember that your duty is to serve
and protect the life and the rights of every single person in our
country? And you took an oath not only before your fellow men, but to
God himself?
Hannah: Witness, how do you feel tonight? (If objected, just tell the court that
the defense would like to make the witness feel comfortable in asking questions.)

Hannah: Is it okay for us to assume that youre prepared for tonight?

Hannah: How long was your preparation? (If objected, counsel would explain to
the court that Preparation forms a vital role in a success or accomplishment of a specific
operation. Such will be established as we go further with the cross examination.) Whether it
be sustained or overruled, the counsel had already established her way to proving that there
was not enough/ sufficient preparation as required by the PDEA Manual/ IRR in the conduct of
a By Bust Operation.

Hannah: Before we move further, the defense would like to confirm if

the witness is familiar with this document
(LayThePredicate).
Hannah: How long have you been working with the PNP? (IF the answer
is 10years and above). Ask him his age.
***** OPTIONAL*********

Hannah: What is your position/rank in the PNP? and/or Could you tell
the court what PO2 signifies?
Hannah: Is it the lowest rank in the PNP?
Hannah: Therefore, how long would it take for an officer to elevate
his/her rank?
Hannah: Do you have any idea of the PNPs promotion process? Could
you please enlighten the court.
Hannah: You are a member of the PNP. Yes? How long have you been a
member of the PDEA? And by the way, how many ByBust Operations
have you been part of? How many were successful?
Hannah: Is it possible that there be a PNP but not a member of PDEA?
Hannah: What process do you undergo to become a PDEA member?
Hannah: How long is the training? What transpires in the training?
Hannah: Are you aware that there is a PDEA Manual/ or an IRR in which
PDEA officers must abide?
Hannah: Do you believe that you your team in this buybust operation
followed all that was required in the PDEAManual/ IRR?
Hannah: Okay, what time again did the confidential informant went to
your office?
Hannah: How did you know about it?
Hannah: What time did you arrive at the police station?
Hannah: You mentioned earlier that you live in ___________. How long
would it take you to arrive in the police station?

Hannah: Were you late during the briefing?

Hannah: From the word briefing, it is assumed that there already is a
command to conduct buybust operation?
Hannah: How many were you with during the briefing? Could you name
them?
Hannah: How long have you been working with them?
Hannah: What transpired in the briefing?
Hannah: So, if you were only present during the briefing and you were
called only at 7:30pm, and arrived at 8:00pm it is clear that you were
not part of the investigation prior to the conduct of the Buybust
Operation.
Hannah: Could you name the persons who conducted the investigation
for the conduct of the Buybust Operation.
Hannah: Again, allow me to reiterate my early statement in this crossexamination. Preparation forms a vital role in a success or
accomplishment of a specific operation. Thus if it fails, would
boomerang to the team. Furthermore, the witness also mentioned
that she has undergone training and knows the PDEA Manual/IRR.
Hannah: Witness, are you familiar? Or an expert of the PDEA
Manual/IRR?
Hannah: I have no further questions your honor.
