KF Industries was established in 1962 with a limited offering of high quality products. In 1976 KF began to focus
engineering, manufacturing and marketing efforts on floating ball valves. As a result the KF floating ball valve line
has become the most comprehensive and respected offering in the industry. KF's product line has expanded to
include several styles and pressure classes of trunnion supported ball valves, complementing the already successful
line of floating ball valves. Among these, the Series FA
Ball Valve has established itself as the leader among topentry trunnion ball valves.
As with all KF products, the verification of Series FA Ball Valve
design and manufacture is
assured through the application
off control measures defined by a
documented Quality System that

is certified by audit to API Specification Q1. Furthermore,

the Quality Program at KF Industries has been independently verified by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd.
(LRQA) as being in compliance with the exacting requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality System Standard.
For over 30 years KF Industries has been dedicated to providing it's customers with technically superior products oriented toward applications that can be exceptionally severe.
Their broad range of valve designs and sizes, constructed of
the highest quality materials, reliably service a diverse
range of oil, gas and petrochemical markets.
Floating Ball Valves, Trunnion Supported Ball Valves,
Check Valves, Needle Valves. Precision engineering and
state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, combined with
outstanding customer service makes KF Industries the
source for flow control solutions.

KF reserves the right to change designs, materials or specifications without notice or without obligation to furnish or install such changes on products previously or subsequently sold.

General Design Features

KF Series FA Ball Valve
The KF Series FA Ball Valve line is offered
in flanged end body configurations, 2" thru
12", Class 150 and 300. Series FA valves
are available with full port and regular port
bores. These high quality two-piece split
body ball valves are manufactured and tested in conformance with the requirements of
ANSI B16.34 and API 6D specifications.
These industry standards dictate end-toInjection
end dimensions, port sizes, flange configuFitting
ration, materials of construction, quality
control procedures and testing requirements. In addition to these prerequisites,
KF Industries' high level engineering,
state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques
and SPC quality control combine to make
the Series FA a dependable and cost effective solution for many ball valve applications.
All Series FA Ball Valves include a trunnion supported
ball. The ball's extra large trunnions are supported in
Teflon metal-backed bearings which are centrally located
in the valve body. High capacity trunnion blocks insure
that central positioning is retained even at the highest rated
working pressures. These trunnion blocks are internal;
therefore, there is no potential external leakage or exposure
to atmosphere at the lower trunnion. The Series FA trunnion supported design provides low operation torques and
allows for block and bleed service. A ball cavity bleed
valve is included as standard equipment.
The Series FA stem is a back seated design. It is fitted with
two pressure seals plus an effective weather seal which isolates the stem journal from the effects of a corrosive environment.
High pressure fittings are provided for lubrication or
sealant injection in the stem seal and seat area.
All Series FA Ball Valves include Anti-Static continuity
throughout their construction.

For valve operation the stem may be fitted with either a

lever handle (up to and including 8" bore) or mechanical
worm gear operator with handwheel. Also, automatic actuators for convenient local or remote valve control may be
specified. All valves are provided with drilled and tapped
holes on a substantial top pad to allow for actuator or gear
operator mounting in the field. An optional locking device
is available on most sizes for those applications where
security is a concern.
Standard Materials for Series FA Ball Valves include:
Carbon Steel body, electroless nickel plated Carbon Steel
stem, ball and seats, Stainless Steel seat springs, Nylon
seat inserts and Buna N seals.
Series FA Ball Valves offer a broad range of trim options.
Some of these include: Stainless Steel trim (stem, ball,
seats and fittings), Teflon seat inserts, NACE MR-01-75
conformance and Firesafe construction. These options, as
well as the many exceptional standard design features, are
sure to enhance the compatibility of KF Series FA Ball
Valves with your specific application.
