WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?
1. The government should use taxpayers money to provide free day care for all parents who
need it.
2. Companies who create large amounts of pollution should have to pay to clean the environment, and
if they dont pay they should be shut down..
3. Canada should accept refugees (people who are fleeing their home country because of war or
famine).
4. The government should spend less money on the military.
5. The United States should not be allowed to test cruise missiles in Canada.
6. High School students should be allowed to take any courses they want; there should be no
compulsory courses.
7. We should provide shelters for homeless people.
8. Inmates at our prisons should be given training in particular industries (ex. carpenter), so that
when they are back in society they can find legal employment.
9. Assault weapons and handguns should be banned.
10. The Canadian Government should be doing more to stop the pandemic spread of AIDS in Africa.
11. The government should control the amount of money people are allowed to charge for rent.
12. The minimum wage should be raised significantly.
13. I would rather live in a safe poor country with free education and health care then in a rich
country where there was more violence and no social services.
14. Workers who go on strike should have the support of the general public.

15. All people should be entitled to the same rights no matter what there race, religion, gender,
or sexual orientation.
16. Tax laws should focus more on taxing the rich than taxing the poor and lower middle class.
17. Marijuana should be legalized. (3 = legalized for medical purposes only)
18. All people should have access to the same level of health care.
19. All citizens should be allowed to vote. No matter what their age, race or gender.
20. No one should be allowed to censor books, movies, or music.
21. It is better to have everyones standard of living equal rather than having extremes of rich
and poor (even if that means that everyone is living very little disposable income).
22. The government should invest more money into universities and colleges in order to keep
students fees as low as possible, even if it means raising taxes.
23. Canada should give financial aid to developing nations who are in trouble.
24. A woman should have the right to have an abortion if she feels that it is the right decision for her.
25. The government should help fund artists and broadcasters who express and define the
Canadian culture (CBC, Canadian art, music, etc)
26. The government should do everything it can to ensure that children dont grow up in poverty.
27. A homosexual couple should have all the same rights as a heterosexual couple.
28. Wealthy provinces in Canada should share some of their wealth with provinces that are
struggling (transfer payments)
29. Standards and taxes for industries need to be followed even if that means the industries pack up
and move to less strict countries.
30. People of any ethnic group can be fully integrated into our society.

44. People who do not work should run the risk of going hungry.
45. People should have to pay a user fee for going to the doctor or hospital.
46. Large corporations are more important to the economy than small businesses.
47. It doesn't matter whether the mix of minorities in public institutions reflects their numbers in
the general population. (affirmative action is a bad idea - hire the best qualified person)
