What is the transfer policy when coming from The Child ens Garden?
Transition of students from The Childrens Garden (TCG) to Greenfield Community School (GCS)
Students who are in PS2 at The Childrens Garden Green Community are allocated priority
places into Grade 1 at GCS. The parents are required to submit an online application
before January 31st, of the current academic year. These applications will not be charged the
500 AED application fee. All students applying for GCS are required to take a developmental
assessment. Students are accepted if the school is able to provide for their specific needs.
Any applications submitted after this date will be placed onto our waiting list until we have
availability.
How many students per classroom?
At GCS our class sizes are kept to a minimum as per KHDA regulations. In our KG classes we
have 24 students per class with one homeroom teacher and a teacher assistant; from Grades 1
through Grade 10 we have 25 students in each class. Grades 11 and 12 may vary due to the
studentschoice of course and subjects
What are our tuition fees?
The current tuition fees range from AED 36,915 to AED 67,980. More information can be found

Do we plan to increase the fees for next year?
At this time we do not have any information on a fee increase for the new academic year. This
is determined by the KHDA.
Does our school offer a payment plan?
Currently GCS offers three payments due on 31 July, 30 November and 28 of February.

What is our Age Cut-off Date?


At GCS we will abide by the KHDA statutory requirements such that a child must be age 3 years
8 months on September 15.
We accept children from age 3.8 years into KG1 through to the end of Grade 12 and as per our
admissions policy all students are kept in their age appropriate grades. The grade will be
determined by the age of the child between January 1st until September 15th; only in
exceptional circumstances would GCS consider putting a child out of age group.
What are our school's timings ?
Our school timings for Primary are: from Sunday to Thursday from 7:50 am until 14:30 pm
except on Tuesday where our students finish at 13:30 pm
Our school timings for Secondary are: from Sunday to Thursday from 7:50 am until 15:20 pm
except on Tuesday where our students finish at 13:30 pm
Do we have a Canteen/Cafeteria?
At GCS we offer snacks and hot lunches for our students. Students can choose to buy our
canteen food or bring a home packed lunch.

Does the school require a uniform?
At GCS it is compulsory for all our students to be wearing their school uniform; this also
includes the full PE kit during Physical Education lessons with the appropriate footwear. We
have a strict uniform policy that we make sure is tracked throughout the academic year. All
items of school uniform must be clearly labelled with your child's name.

Does our school provide transportation throughout Dubai?
Yes our school has transportation covering most areas of Dubai. Our transport is coordinated by

Does our school offer after school care?


No, but the school offers Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) every term at no additional cost. The
activities range from Tennis, Football Drama Club, German Conversation, Song and dance
Arabic Story Telling, Arabic and French Lessons, Basketball, Chess, Environmental Club, Art Club

Some ECA are offered by an external provider E-Sports and therefore are at an additional cost.

What is the level of qualifications our teache s at GCS are required to have accomplished?
For teaching positions at GCS, it is important to ensure that our teachers hold the correct
qualifications and have the necessary experience. GCS requires a minimum of two years (and
probably more) qualified teaching experience. All teachers need to be approved by the KHDA
(Knowledge and Human Development Authority) with completion of 12 years of Primary and
Secondary education; they must hold a degree in education (B.Ed.) or a Degree and Teaching
Certificate or equivalent (e.g. BA / BSc. + PGCE). All educational qualifications and experience
should be directly related to the relevant topic they are planning to teach.

What languages do we offer?
At GCS, English is the main language. Most of our curriculum is delivered in English. Arabic is
the compulsory language. We also offer a choice of learning French or German. Most of our
students are expected to become fluent in both English and Arabic.
Does our school provide English as a second language?
Yes, GCS provides English as an Additional Language (EAL) the program is one of the unique set
of programs that GCS offers to the early, primary and middle year students. It is a prominent
part of our educational needs in the region and specifically at GCS. The key focus is to assist our
students in becoming proficient in English.
