Course Objectives:

The course will include evolution of cloud computing. The aim is to get a strong
understanding of fundamental concepts and to get a flavor of more recent research and
recent developments in the area.
The objective of this course is to gain an understanding of the concepts and techniques used
to set up cloud model.

Cloud computing offer their services in three ways, infrastructure as a service (IaaS),
platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS) where IaaS is the most
basic and each higher model abstracts from the details of the lower models. Other key
components in anything as a service (XaaS) are described in a comprehensive
taxonomy model published in 2009, such as Strategy-as-a-Service, Collaboration-asa-Service, Business Process-as-a-Service, Database-as-a-Service, etc. In 2012,
network as a service (NaaS) and communication as a service (CaaS) were officially
included by ITU (International Telecommunication Union) as part of the basic cloud
computing models, recognized service categories of a telecommunication-centric
cloud ecosystem. To analyze the operations and features of the network layer protocols and
services and

explain the fundamental concepts of routing.

To know about Virtualization which is critical to cloud computing because it

simplifies the delivery of services by providing a platform for optimizing complex IT
resources in a scalable manner, which is what makes cloud computing so cost
effective. Virtualization can be applied very broadly to just about everything you can
imagine including memory, networks, storage, hardware, operating systems, and
applications.
To learn concept of security issues/concerns associated with cloud computing but these

issues fall into two broad categories: Security issues faced by cloud providers
(organizations providing software, platform or infrastructure-as-a-service via the
cloud) and security issues faced by their customers. In most cases, the provider must
ensure that their infrastructure is secure and that their clients data and applications
are protected while the customer must ensure that the provider has taken the proper
security measures to protect their information.Applications layer and its associated
protocols and services provided to computer user.

The objective of cloud Security understands of basic issues, concepts, principles, and
mechanisms in securing cloud and Mobile Internet Devices and the Cloud.
