SUBJECT: 39th General Assembly of Student Councils
Warm nationalist greetings!
Section 21 (a), Republic Act Numbered Ninety-Five Hundred, otherwise known as the UP
Charter of 2008, provides that:
Student Affairs. - (a) There shall be established in the national
university the following student councils: for every college and degreegranting institute, a college or institute student council; and for every
constituent university, a university student council; and for the
University System, a general assembly of all student councils.

The GASC has consistently served as a venue in which student leaders across the
University System discuss pressing issues and concerns concerning the students and the
Filipino nation, at large, forging unities through campaigns and initiatives for the general
welfare of our society.
The OFFICE OF THE STUDENT REGENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES (UP) will convene the
39th GASC on 9 to 10 January 2015 at UP Cebu, Lahug, Cebu City.
We shall release the provisional agenda on 28 November 2014, including the proposed
amendments to the Codified Rules for the Student Regent Selection or CRSRS. Should
any student council hope to submit any additional matter for the consideration of the
Assembly, please do so on or before 4 December, 5PM. The final agenda shall be
released on 11 December, subject to approval.
Attached herewith is a copy of the projected expenses per delegate, among others, and
an agreement contact. Please confirm your attendance on or before 19 December, 5PM
through electronic mail. An acknowledgement letter, including the list of confirmed
delegates shall be sent by 22 December. Late submissions will not be entertained.

Final advisory and other information will be released as soon as they are available. For

Special Notes: The OSR shall release provide solicitation letters for your perusal. In order
to conserve resources and help the environment, we shall not provide Styrofoam cups.
Thus, we request that you bring your own cups/mugs for personal use.
Transportation: We shall release a travel advisory on 3 January 2014. Kindly inform us of
your travel details for better coordination. We shall also provide some general
information as to pertinent rules and regulations in Cebu City in order to prevent any
untoward incident to happen.

In sending your confirmation of attendance, please make sure to indicate your (1) UP
unit; (2) name of student council; (3) point person of delegation, and (4) pertinent
information such as full name/s, nickname/s, position/s, gender, contact details, dietary
restrictions, and other special circumstances that the Secretariat needs to be aware of.

Resolutions and Reports: As a practice during GASCs, we forge our unities through
resolutions. Thus, in order to give ample time to our fellow student leaders, please
submit your proposed resolutions on or before 12 December, 5PM in .DOC format. In
addition, we are also asking that student councils submit a comprehensive report on
their issues, activities, campaigns, and accomplishments on or before 3 January, 5PM in
order for the Secretariat furnish soft copies of your reports in .DOC format.
Registration: The Secretariat will need a copy of your Student Council Constitution,
Charter or By-laws, a printed copy of your acknowledgment of confirmation of attendance
sent through e-mail, and full payment upon registration. Please bring your validated UP
ID Cards or Form 5, and any other valid ID Cards for verification.
Further information will be posted as soon as they are available.
