Printed Circuit Board Design

Shorter time-to-market windows are forcing you to complete your PCBs in

record time. To accomplish this, your design tools must be feature-rich and

reliable. PADS-PowerPCB provides everything you need to get your job

done simply and quickly in a flexible design environment. The product’s

focus is to provide the powerful functionality you require to complete your

toughest designs, while improving your design process through seamless

integration, and increasing your productivity with ease-of-use functions.

PowerPCB is the ultimate Windows-based tool for all your complex,

high-speed, and mixed-signal PCBs.

PowerPCB is the core product in PADS Software’s line of solutions for

the development of printed interconnect systems. Integrate PowerPCB

into your existing design process to complete all your complex PCBs or

implement PowerPCB along with our other integrated solutions for design

verification, advanced package design, and design for fabrication --- for a

complete interconnect solution.

PCB Editor
Provides the core design functionality of
PowerPCB including the import of CAE files,
manual placement, database manipulation and CAM
outputs.Attribute definition, control of placement and
appearance of attribute labels, and access flags provide
intelligent attribute control. PowerPCB supports user-
defined attributes on almost every database object to
speed the design process by enabling you to leverage
data from many sources. Keep outs and cut outs
allow you to define mechanical keepout areas in
Pro/ENGINEER or AutoCAD and pass them to
PowerPCB to ensure correct mechanical fit of
the PCB with the hardware enclosure. PDR allows you to replicate "golden circuits" in new and
existing designs to minimize errors.

Physical Design Reuse

The Physical Design Reuse (PDR) module supports
the creation, saving and placement of physical reuse
elements independent of the schematic source. PDR
greatly minimizes design time and decreases the
chance for errors by allowing you to reuse
existing, proven technology.

Interactive Route Editing
The Dynamic Route Editor (DRE) is an interactive
tool for all your sophisticated layouts. It optimally
routes interactively by following route paths that
you sketch by hand.

Roughly sketch a route path by hand, and

BlazeRouter
BlazeRouter combines high-completion rates
and minimal post-route rework for unparalleled
productivity gains. Native any-angle and diagonal
routing algorithms accurately and efficiently produce
your high-density circuitry. Tight integration with
PowerPCB ensures that BlazeRouter follows design
rules entered at the schematic or PCB level,
minimizing post-route checking.
