Cohousing with Friends in Costa Rica
A cohousing community, based on Quaker principles, is
forming in Costa Rica on an organic farm in the mountains
two hours travel time from San Jos (the capital) and one
hour from the Pacific coast.
San Jos is home to the Friends Peace Center (Centro de los
Amigos para la Paz) and the San Jos Worship Group. The
Monteverde Meeting, higher up in the mountains, is about
three hours away and serves as an inspiration.
Cohousing Goals:
1. Create an inclusive community at an easily affordable
cost.
2. Produce much of our food, energy and buildings with
sustainable practices.
3. Live in harmony with our neighbors and contribute to
the surrounding community.
4. Other goals developed as our community grows and works
together. The hope is to include families and single people
at all ages, but realistically, many members will likely be
retired. Some may earn income through computer-based
work or creative arts, but the area provides few other job
opportunities.
If you think you may be interested, please contact me at
sunrisemountainfarm@gmail.com. I will personally reply to
your inquiries. Carol.
