For questions 21- 30 you need to read the following three paragraphs about a
Jungle Escape:
(Paragraph one)

On December 24th 1971, an aeroplane took off from an airport in Lima just
after 4 oclock. It was a clear afternoon with blue skies. Several hours
later, however, there was an awful storm. The plane was struck by
lightning, which started a fire. The pilots attempted to fly the plane in a
straight line, but both wings of the plane were too badly damaged by the
fire. The plane crashed into a mountainous region of the Amazon.
(Paragraph two)

One of the passengers, Juliane Koepcke, who was only 17 years old,
survived the crash. She was unconscious for several hours. When she woke
up she felt terrible. Her head was bleeding and she couldnt move her arm
but she realised she needed to save herself. She found a stream and began
walking through the clear water. The water only came to below her knees,
but there were thousands of biting insects. She also saw at least ten
crocodiles. On the ninth day she found a small boat. She decided to wait
there.
(Paragraph three)

That evening, local forest workers returned and found her. She was thin
and very weak. The men helped her as much as they could. They gave her
food and a bed but it was too late to start the journey to find any
medicine. In the morning the men took her to a small village, where they
called the emergency services. She was taken to hospital by helicopter.

Jennifer Harris, who got her licence when she was 50 and bought her first bike

can make the money last for eight or ten years, Ill be delighted. Ill spend every
last penny. I know Ill run out of money eventually. Then Ill come home.
Mrs Harris, who has two grown-up sons and a four-year-old grandson, will set off
after her house has been sold. She has already asked for advice from fellow Harley
owners all over the world and together they have planned her route carefully.
The pensioner has ridden over 100,000 miles on her bike, travelling all over Britain
and Western Europe with other Harley Davidson enthusiasts. I've virtually done all
of Europe already, apart from Russia, but I cant wait to see the rest of the world.
