Age

This chart shows that a large part of my audience is around the ages of 16 to 18 with some
being just possibly slightly older in the group of 18 up to 24 years of age. This is useful for
my research as it means that I now the age range of my target audience and can construct
my magazine accordingly to fit this age target of the audience.

This chart shows that of the people I asked, it was evenly split half and half between male
and female. This means that in the construction I can accordingly design and produce a
magazine product that fits both male and female genders in an even way.

Tech

This magazine shows that everybody I asked owns and uses a smartphone or mobile phone,
seven of the ten use laptop computers, six own and use MP3/MP4 players such as IPods etc.
, an equal amount of four people I asked said that own and use desktop computers and
tablet computers and only two people own a radio or stereo. This means that I know what
the highest forms of technology used by my target audience are which means I know what
sorts of technology platforms I need to acknowledge in my magazine and in in terms of what
sorts of platforms the magazine will also be released on.

This question shows me that all of the people I asked and perhaps the majority of my entire
target audience use Facebook in terms of social media sites as well as eight of the ten using
both twitter and Instagram and not a lot use Tumblr or Pinterest which both have a
combined total of three people of the people I asked. This means that as the magazine
creator, I know what main forms of social media I need to use for the advertising, promotion
and other updates for the magazine.

the magazine may interest them if it contains the correct material to attract them to it.

Hours

This table shows that on average, the amount of time people spend listening to music is
around two to three hours per day with six of the ten respondents selecting that option. The
other four responses were evenly split with two responses each for one to two hours and
two responses for four to five hours. This means that

Genres/Styles

For this question, I found that of the ten respondents, six people like to listen to the genres
of Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B and Rock. With five selecting Rap, four selecting Electronic and only
one person saying the like Alternative music. This is a useful set of responses as it means I
know what types of themes or genres of music that the audience like and I could choose to
base my music magazine on.

Sometimes

This question shows that the majority of the target audience that I asked of eight out of ten
people I asked said they do not read any music magazines and only two saying yes they do.
This shows that it doesnt look good in terms of me getting much of an audience for my
music magazine if the majority of people dont bother or like to read them. But what it does
mean is that I have an opportunity to use the audiences feedback as to what features they
want to see in a music magazine and use these to create a magazine that may attract people
and that people may want to read.

How Often

This graph showed me that of the two people that said they read music magazines, they
each had split selections to how often they read music magazines, one saying they read one
once every two weeks and the other only reading them once a month. This is useful
information as it means I can chose a suitable time frame for the regularity of the release of
the magazine, i.e. Monthly or every couple of weeks according to the results found from this
question.

How much

This question shows what sorts of prices my target market would be willing to spend to
purchase a 20 to 30 page long music magazine such as the one I am creating. This is
important as it means I can pick a suitable price from the results above as to how much
people would actually want to spend and make sure that the price is reasonable enough to
mean customers would spend that much.

Features

This set of results from my target audience show what types of features people would like
to see in my music magazine across a range of possible features to choose from. The most
successful and requested was a feature that is a spread or a profile giving information for
the readers about an artist and/or new artist which eight of the ten people I asked said they
would like to see. The second most recommended were gig and festival dates, artist
interviews and a selection or music genre, artist and magazine merchandise for a store
section of the magazine which all had six out ten responses. Close behind is the option for a
monthly subscription for the magazine which five people would like to see and an audience
question and feedback section for the audience to post questions for the magazine editors
or artist as well as leave feedback about the magazine, features of the magazine and artists
etc., which had four of the ten people wanting. Then with only two and three votes were
audience Q&A`s were the audience questions will be replied to by an artist or editor or
someone who the question has been left to such as posted questions for an artist who will
appear in an interview or question and answer session, and gig and festival reviews for
feedback and reviews of recent gigs and festivals for readers to hear our thoughts, as well as
other members of the audience who attended. These results are useful as they give me an
idea as to what types of features people want to see in the magazine and allows me to get
and understanding and implement these features into the magazine as they are the
audience would like to see so may attract customers to the magazine due to the types of
features that may interest them and want out of the magazine.
