around as everyone talks about the number of devastating and memory optimization features that
comes with this new 4.4 version. The Googles head of Android, Sundar Pichai, itself have told
that this update can easily and comfortably run on devices having 512 MB RAM. This is pretty
good news for those low end device users. They can at last get rid of that Gingerbread version.
The number of users having Gingerbread running on their devices is more than those having
Ice-cream sandwich and Jelly Bean. With this update they will be finally relaxed as same like
others it will be possible for them to experience the latest features on their mobiles.
It was Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, after which Google took a huge leap forward in usability
and responsiveness. However, due to their more interest towards the hardware compatibility,
many low end devices suffered a lot. The main reason is that the new introduced features were
not compatible to run on the limited hardware and RAM size.
The third party Android developers helped to overcome this issue. They with their hard work
developed ROMs running on all those latest versions especially for low range mobiles. With these
ROMs you can customize everything you want.
A week before, the androids recognized developers, the well known Cyanogenmod team
launched their new CM 11 update running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat for low range device
like Galaxy Ace, Fit, Gio and Mini. In this article we will talk about detailed procedure regarding
Android 4.4.3 KitKat for Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop S5570. This aging device was launched three
years ago with official Android 2.2 Froyo. Later it was upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But
after that, Samsung stopped its further updates due to lack of hardware and RAM compatibility.
One of the recognized contributor of XDA, yajnab, has compiled an alpha build of CM 11 ROM for
Galaxy Mini. You can experience all new features of KitKat like refurnished Google home with
new launcher, new phone dialer app, screen recording, new gallery, new quick office app and
much more on your Galaxy Mini/Pop with this ROM. The list does not end here as along with that
you can even feel the Cyanogenmod features. Thus a combo pack ROM with amazing features is

The update given below for flashing Android 4.4.3 KitKat via Cyanogenmod 11 ROM on your
Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop S5570 is considered to be of much risk. Hence should be performed
only by advanced users who are used to this stuff. For Newbie, we highly recommend you to
follow each and every step properly and at your own risk. If in case your Galaxy Mini/Pop gets
damaged or bricked by using this article then neither we nor the developers will be held
responsible for that. Although the chances that your device will get damaged is least, but still I
recommend you to follow all the given procedure properly and without any single mistake. Also
note that this update must be only performed on Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop bearing the model
number GT-S5570. Flashing this on any other device or variant may result into unwanted
outcomes or even bricked device. Its better that you firstly verify your device model number with
the number given above from Homescreen> Menu>Settings > About Phone.

Better check your mobiles battery power first. It is must as due to lack of battery, the flashing
process may get interrupted thus giving rise to further problems. Thus I highly recommend to
charge the battery of your galaxy Mini/Pop at least up to 80%.
Backup all your entire SD card along with the contacts, messages apn settings, call logs etc.
and transfer them on your PC for more safety. This is necessary as in the last step of this
procedure you need to wipe all the data and cache that is currently present onto your phone
memory.
Backup of a folder named EFS, present in your system directory is highly important. This is a
very sensitive folder as it contains all your phones specific information such as the IMEI
number, wireless devices MAC addresses, product code, and much more. If while wiping all
the data and cache, this folder also gets deleted by mistake then this will be a great disaster
for you. Your device will no longer be recognized by your carrier & will become just useless. If
so happened, you wont be able to receive or make a call and message either. To know more

Ensure that your Galaxy Mini/Pop is rooted. If not, then follow our guide given below to do so.
1. How to Root & install Clockworkmod (CWM) recovery on Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop
S5570
This ROM can be flashed only when you have a custom recovery installed on your device. So
ensure that a Custom Recovery like Clockworkmod (CWM) or TWRP recovery is installed on
your Galaxy Mini/Pop.
(IMPORTANT!) You need to have a latest Clockworkmod Custom recovery like 6.0.4.5 for
flashing Android 4.4.3 KitKat on your Galaxy Mini/Pop. If you havent installed it yet, then dont
worry just follow this steps given below:
Step 1: Download the latest CWM 6.0.4.5 recovery package from Here.
Step 2: After successful downloading, connect your device to PC, enable USB debugging mode
and transfer this recovery on your mobiles external SD card.
Step 3: Now disconnect your device from PC and switch it completely.
Step 4: You need to enter into recovery mode now. For doing so, keep holding home button and
power button simultaneously until the recovery mode appears.
Step 5: On recovery mode, Select Install from SD card option using volume and home button &
install this latest 6.0.4.5 recovery.
After successful flashing the latest CWM 6.0.4.5 recovery, proceed further for the actual Android
4.4.3 KitKat ROM installation process.

Step 1: After successful downloading both the package files given above, connect your mobile to
PC, enable USB debugging mode and transfer them on your mobiles external SD card.
Remember not to place it in deep directories. Also remember not to extract it.
Step 2: Disconnect your Mini/Pop from PC and switch it off completely.
Step 3: You need to enter into the recovery mode now. For that hold Home Button (middle
button) + Power Button simultaneously until the recovery mode appears.
Note: Touch wont work in this recovery. So use your device Volume Up and Down keys for
navigation and Home button for selection.
Step 4: If this CM 11 ROM fails to touch your heart or some problem occurs and you want your
previous ROM (the one you are using now), then a Nandroid backup feature of CWM will help you
out. Nandroid backup is the backup of your entire operating system & helps you easily restore the
saved previous ROM from the CWM recovery in case of some emergency.
Step 5: For doing same, navigate to the backup & restore option on the recovery mode itself and
on the next screen select backup option. This will make a complete nandroid backup of your
current ROM. Refer the screenshot given below.

Lets move to the actual CM 11 ROM installation process now.

Step 6: After taking proper nandroid backup, again return to the main menu of recovery mode
and select the install zip from SD card option located on the recovery mode itself. Then on the
next screen select choose zip from SD card option. This will show you all the files and folders
present on your external SD card along with CM 11 ROM package which youve copied earlier.
Select it using home button. On the next screen, press Yes option to begin the actual ROM
flashing process. It will hardly take 5 to 10 few minutes to complete. Be patient until the process is
completed fully.
Step 7: After successful flashing process, again return to the main menu of recovery mode and
select wipe data/factory reset option followed by wipe cache partition option which will clear
all your data & caches from your phones memory.
Step 8: Now you need to flash the Google Apps package containing Playstore, Gmail, Gtalk
separately after flashing the ROM. Use the same above procedure for that. Just dont wipe
data/cache after installing those GApps.

All the flashing processes completes here. You just need to reboot your device now. The same
can be done by selecting reboot system now option from the recovery mode. Keep in mind that
the first boot will take more time to start than usual.
Note: If you are not fully satisfied with this ROM and want to restore back your previous one then
you can do that by simply going back to the recovery mode by holding Home Button (middle
button) + Power Button simultaneously and select Backup and Restore option and then on next
screen select Restore option. This will show all the saved backups of your previous ROMs. Just
select the one you want & restore it.
You can regain your device warranty and default system by flashing the official Android 2.3.6
Gingerbread firmwares. For the same, you may refer our articles given below:

Dude, I have downloaded and installed the cm-11-20140116-NIGHTLY-beni.zip
ROM.
I follow the procedure mentioned on the page. After install,
1) I could not add my Google account to restore my contacts on my phone.
2) No provision of Play store to download ans install the apps from market.
Now I wanted to get back to the previous working ROM cm-10.1-20130402NIGHTLY-beni.zip, but I am not able to because it failed with error code Status
7.
Please help me on either
1) Add google account if that works fine, it will be OK else
2) Reinstall the older ROM.

2.For flashing CM 10.1 ROM, install older custom recovery
& re-try..

I had downloaded the file pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.2-20140227-signed.zip
and copied to the SD card, booted to recovery and selected to install zip from
sdcard, selected the file it started some time but later it failed with error code
installation aborted with error Status 07
Need help

I have one by one tried all of these links but

unfortunately none proved to be working.
Procedure I am following as Download, Copy
to SD card and boot to recovery mode and
select install Zip Option and chose the zip file I
downloaded every time and selected to open
for install. But it run for some time and failed
with error as:
Unmounting GApps Installation Failed
Unmounting System
Aborting
E:Error in /storage/sdcard0/pa_gappsmodular-full-4.4.2-20140301-signed.zip

in my Samsung Galaxy GT-S5570 because I dont know about the errors in

non-working features in the package as you have checked and tested already?

Are you talking about the CWM 6.0.4.5 package file? If so,
it does not contain any tass/odin file as you said but
contains just a recovery file..Check whether you have
downloaded the same file or not..Here is the link:

I have installed cm-11-20140116-NIGHTLY-tass.zip on my galaxy mini gts5570. And I tried to install following gapps packages.
1.pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.2-20140426a-signed.zip
in above case process run for some time and gives error.

1) Boot into recovery (currently installed).

2) Select Mount and Storage>format/system.
3) Flash the ROM.
4) Reboot.

Hi Abhijeet! I recently flashed 4.4 kitkat onto my GT-S5507L using the cwm
6.0.4.5 method highlighted in this post. Only think is, after flashing kitkat and
wiping cache partition, its stuck at the cyanogenmod boot screen. Its animated
and everything, but Ive been waiting ~20 minutes and it hasnt moved off of it.
Help?
I was running android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Stock rom on Tmobile.

I had done everything but when ever i was open the Samsung Pop s5570 ,
there is lots of issue with the mobile , Camera not Working . Google play not
Coming , I think it will be not suitable for Glaxy Pop S5570 . Can you segment
me what should do .
