GENERAL
The Operation and Maintenance Manual describes the management
capabilities of the Local Craft Terminals and the WALKnet Management
system. This manual describes menu driven operation and maintenance
via the LCI port. GUI based management is described in the WALKnet
Manual.

REQUIREMENTS
The LCI can be connected to the BS/BUs and the TS/BUs via an RS-232
interface.
In order to operate the LCI the following is required:
PC platform as local craft terminal.
Serial cable, TP4 wires, flat with RJ45 to a 9-pin D-type or
25-pin D-type connectors. (See the Commissioning Guide for
connector pinout descriptions).
Communications software (PROCOMM. PCPLUS, PROWIN etc.).

LCI Structure
LCI parameters in the Base Station and the Terminal Station are grouped
according to their function, as displayed in the main menu
(see Figure 3-3). Figure 3-1 and Figure 3-2 illustrates the LCI program tree
for the BS/BU and the TS/BU.

NOTE
Set the terminal type to ANSI in the communications software.
While the BS/BU is initializing, a number of messages are displayed on the
Craft terminal.
After the initialization has completed, the Main Menu is displayed on the
Craft screen.
To re-display the LCI menu screen, press <Enter>.
The Global Navigation Commands are attached to each LCI screen.
Type the <symbol> then press <Enter> at any time in order to perform the
requested function. The following table details the global key symbol
commands for the Main structure.
