FADE IN
INT. EMPEROR CORNELIUS PALACE
Its the first century in Ancient Rome and the
septuagenarian emperor, CORNELIUS, is ruling his empire
with an iron fist. Cornelius is a tyrant that leads his
people by fear who has stayed in power for over twenty
years due to the support of the dreaded Praetorian Guard.
LIVING ROOM AREA
Cornelius is sitting on a couch while three beautiful,
young female SERVANTS are on their knees servicing him.
The emperor moans in understated enjoyment as a MALE
SERVANT enters the spacious room. Hes immediately caught
off guard by the triple blowjob.
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Excuse me emperor.
The girls stop what theyre doing which only seems to
agitate Cornelius.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
What are you doing? Dont stop girls.
What is it?
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Sir, your presence has been requested at
the senate today.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Why?
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Theyre looking for funding approval on
a public works project. I believe an
aqueduct of some sort.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Who requested my presence?
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Senator Atticus.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Atticus is such a pain in the ass.
Why do they care about the public?
I certainly dont.
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
I dont know sir.
Cornelius notices the servant is covering his crotch with
his hand to hide his arousal.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Tell me something, how jealous are you
right now?
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Very, sir.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Well later on Ill let you take a turn
on me as well.
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Thank you sir. So can I tell the senate
that they can expect you?
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
In a couple hours, I just need to finish
up here.
CORNELIUS MALE SERVANT
Sure thing sir.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
(looks down at the girls)
Its good to be emperor.
INT. ROMAN SENATE CHAMBER
A bunch of old SENATORS dressed in regal robes are
gathering in an opulent chamber made of marble.
Suddenly, several PRAETORIAN GUARDS enter and march down
the center aisle signifying the arrival of the emperor.
Once the guards are in position, Cornelius makes his grand
entrance and walks down to the center of the room where he
takes a seat on a throne.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR ATTICUS, a distinguished gentleman in his sixties,
approaches the emperor.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Emperor Cornelius, on behalf of the entire
Senate Id like to thank you for coming
today. Its quite an honor since we all
know your proclivity to run the empire
from inside your palace walls.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
(uninterested)
The city depresses me, my palace does
not.
The senator glances up the aisle at the menacing Praetorian
guards looking at him.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Emperor, with all due respect this is a
house of the people. It is not necessary
for your guards to be present. This is a
place for discussion and debate, no need
to have the threat of violence hanging
over everything we do.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
The Praetorian Guard is not here for
violence, theyre here for protection.
Most importantly, my protection.
SENATOR ATTICUS
I understand that sir, but you are amidst
civil servants here. Emphasis on the
word civil. We dont have any guards
here ourselves because theres a level
of trust that exists with everything we
do.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
(thinking)
Guards, leave us. Wait for me outside
the chamber. I shouldnt be long.
The guards march out of the chamber in an orderly fashion.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Thank you for your understanding, emperor.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Lets just get down to business, I wish
not to be here any longer than I have to.
SENATOR ATTICUS
We have a public works project that needs
your attention.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
And why do we need this?
SENATOR ATTICUS
Clean water.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
My water seems pretty clean.
SENATOR ATTICUS
(condescending laugh)
Thats probably true, but your palace
no doubt draws its water from a different
source than the common people of Rome.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
And why should I care about the commoners
of Rome?
SENATOR ATTICUS
Because youre emperor, sir?
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
And as emperor I should be building up
the treasury, not draining it.
SENATOR ATTICUS
The treasury exists for projects like
this.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
And thats where we differ senator.
SENATOR ATTICUS
So what do you think we should be using
the treasury for?
The emperor stands up and walks around the floor to address
the senators.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Expanding our empire through military
conquests, both near and far. Maintaining
our business interests. Imperial land
and property upkeep. I am emperor and
I should live a lifestyle in accordance
to being an emperor.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Not infrastructure? Not public utilities?
Not tax relief? Not trying to make the
people of Romes everyday lives better?
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
No, I maintain that Romes infrastructure
and utilities are just fine.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Have you been out on the streets of Rome
recently?
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
Of course.
When?

SENATOR ATTICUS
When was the last time?

EMPEROR CORNELIUS
I dont know, maybe two years ago.
SENATOR ATTICUS
(laughs)
Two years ago! Are you
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
(interrupts)
Senator Cornelius, I did not come here
today to get lectured and insulted by you.
You should learn to respect the title of
emperor and the living god who holds it.
SENATOR ATTICUS
I begrudgingly respect the title but at
times the man makes it difficult to
respect him.
EMPEROR CORNELIUS
You should watch your tone senator, youre
not sounding very senatorial right now.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

The Senator looks at a trio of YOUNGER SENATORS who are
slowly approaching the emperor from behind and gives them a
subtle nod of his head.
With that, the three senators draw knives from inside their
robes and step right up to the emperor.
One of them grabs the emperors chin from behind and pulls
his head back while he, and the other two senators, stab
him repeatedly in his back.
SENATOR ATTICUS
I might not be sounding very senatorial,
but I am acting like it.
Cornelius, drenched in blood, stumbles across the middle of
the senate floor before collapsing at the foot of his
throne, dead.
The sudden attack sends the senate into a panic as the
senators scramble in all different directions.
Another younger senator named Cato approaches Atticus and
grabs his arm to rush him out of the chamber.
SENATOR CATO
Senator, we must leave immediately before
the Praetorian guards return.
INT. JUSTUS PALACE
BEDROOM
JUSTUS, Emperor Cornelius son in his late-thirties, is
getting dressed with the help of two MALE SERVANTS as a
third enters the room.
JUSTUS MALE SERVANT
Excuse me sir.
JUSTUS
Yes, what is it?
JUSTUS MALE SERVANT
Senator Atticus and the others are here.
JUSTUS
Is it done?

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

JUSTUS MALE SERVANT
Yes it is.
JUSTUS
(smiles)
Very good.
The male servants make a few adjustments to Justus
clothing before he exits the room.
LIVING ROOM
Justus walks down an opulent staircase into a huge living
room where Senator Atticus and the three other senator
conspirators are standing waiting for him.
JUSTUS
Senator Atticus, congratulations.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Thank you Justus, congratulations to you
as well.
JUSTUS
I just want whats best for the republic.
SENATOR ATTICUS
As we all, still it mustve been hard for
you to betray your father and for that I
thank you.
JUSTUS
Rome is bigger than my father, the emperor.
SENATOR ATTICUS
The former emperor.
JUSTUS
Right. Desperate times call for desperate
measures. It is time to give the republic
back to the people.
Agreed.

SENATOR ATTICUS
So whats next?

JUSTUS
It depends, what do we know about the
Praetorian guard?

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR ATTICUS
Theyre making their inquiries.
JUSTUS
Do they know who did it?
SENATOR ATTICUS
Not yet, but its only a matter of time.
Every senator was there. Granted,
Cornelius had no allies in the chamber
but the Praetorians can be quite
persuasive when theyre looking for
answers.
JUSTUS
Thats why we brought my cousin, Magnus,
into the plot. He has a good relationship
with the praetorians and hes promised
that hell be able to smooth everything
over with them to ensure a peaceful
transition and, most importantly, safety
for us.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Well what are we waiting for? Were
in a race against time with the
praetorians. Lets summon him over
here immediately.
JUSTUS
Were going over to his palace actually.
My chariot awaits outside.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Very good.
INT. MAGNUS PALACE
LIVING ROOM
MAGNUS, Emperor Cornelius handsome, scheming nephew in his
mid-twenties, is sitting in a chair patiently waiting for
the arrival of his cousin and the conspiring senators.
Magnus stands up and walks across the palatial room to
greet Justus once he sees him enter with the senators.
MAGNUS
My cousin, Ive heard the good news.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

JUSTUS
It is true, it is done and the empire
will soon be in the hands of the people.
MAGNUS
Yes, where it rightfully belongs. Well
Justus I congratulate you and the brave
senators for taking this much needed
action. I think I speak for all of
Rome when I thank you for doing what
must have been a very difficult personal
decision to make.
JUSTUS
It had to be done.
MAGNUS
So whats next Justus? Surely you know
your wish is my command when it comes to
ensuring the safe transition of Rome to
the people.
JUSTUS
Thank you my cousin, and thats where
you come in.
Whats that?
service.

MAGNUS
You name it, Im at your

SENATOR ATTICUS
The Praetorian guard. We know that
Cornelius enjoyed blind support at the
highest levels of the guard so we need
to make sure there wont be any
retribution against any of us.
MAGNUS
Senator Atticus, I can assure you that
you need not worry about the praetorians.
SENATOR ATTICUS
And whys that?
JUSTUS
Senator Atticus.

10

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR ATTICUS
(interrupts)
Pardon me Justus, but our lives are on
the line so, in the interest of selfpreservation, Id like to have something
a little more ironclad than a simple
assurance.
JUSTUS
Senator, if my cousin says you need not
worry, then
MAGNUS
(interrupts)
Thats ok my cousin, I can speak for
myself.
Magnus puts his arm around the senator and walks him across
the room over to a ledge that looks out over a valley.
MAGNUS (contd)
You see Senator Atticus, as much as the
Praetorians supported my uncle, the
emperor, I also have the support of
the guard, maybe not to the extent that
Cornelius had but its support nonetheless.
SENATOR ATTICUS
And why exactly do you enjoy such a great
relationship with the guard?
MAGNUS
Simple, you dont spend as many winters
as I have on the front lines of battle
protecting my uncle alongside the
Praetorian guards without building
friendships and creating alliances of
your own.
SENATOR ATTICUS
Well if you have such a close relationship with the praetorian guard, maybe we
should be worried about you as well?
JUSTUS
Senator Atticus, youre way out of line,
this is my cousin, and hes a good young
man. A very moral young man.

11

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
(laughs)
You do speak nonsense senator, it makes
me laugh.
SENATOR ATTICUS
If I can speak honestly and freely.
MAGNUS
Certainly, this is the new Rome that you
live in. Everyone has a voice, from the
all-powerful senator such as yourself
down to the lowly farmer.
SENATOR ATTICUS
I have reservations about this alliance
with you.
Magnus stands there silently while he thinks for a moment.
MAGNUS
OK, well does this change your mind?
Magnus suddenly puts his hand on the back of the senators
neck and pushes him off the ledge where he falls three
stories to the ground below.
The senators bloody, mangled body lies there on the ground
dead.
Justus is shocked over whats just transpired and rushes
over to his cousin.
JUSTUS
What was that cousin?
MAGNUS
Just executing the next phase of the plot.
JUSTUS
And whats that?
MAGNUS
(smiles)
Becoming emperor.
JUSTUS
(confused)
What do you mean?

12

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
I wasnt foolish enough to think I had
enough power to take on my uncle, so I
let you and these senators do the dirty
work.
With that, dozens of praetorian guards charge the room and
surround the perimeter, with a few directly approaching
Justus.
MAGNUS (contd)
Once again, congratulations on succeeding,
but Ill take Rome from here.
As Justus looks at the menacing guards standing around the
perimeter of the room, he frantically tries to plead his
case.
JUSTUS
Dont listen to this man! He betrayed
you! Hes part of the plot too.
MAGNUS
Justus, as an enemy of the state and
confessed plotter in the death of the
emperor, I condemn you to immediate
death.
JUSTUS
No! No! Guards, you must believe me,
Magnus is the true murderer.
The three praetorian guards standing behind Justus
violently stab him repeatedly in the back as blood flows
down his robe. He falls to the ground dead.
The three other senator conspirators stand nervously on the
other side of the room, not knowing whats coming next.
One of the senators is so nervous that he pisses in his
robe, the urine drips down his leg and forms a puddle on
the floor. The other two are shaking uncontrollably.
A guard approaches Magnus while he stares down the
senators.
PRAETORIAN GUARD AT MAGNUS PALACE
What should we do with those three
traitors?

13

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
Feed them to my tigers outside.
PRAETORIAN GUARD AT MAGNUS PALACE
Yes sir.
Magnus walks nonchalantly out of the room while the guards
drag the three senators out kicking and screaming.
LATER ON MAGNUS MASTER BEDROOM
Magnus is standing on his huge bed while getting blown by
an attractive young, FEMALE SERVANT whos on her knees.
MAGNUS
(shouts)
Im the emperor of Rome! Im the emperor
of Rome! Im the emperor of Rome!
Suddenly, the door to his bedroom opens and in walks his
wife, AURELIA, a very attractive woman in her early
twenties.
Her presence doesnt affect Magnus at all as he continues
receiving head uninterrupted.
AURELIA
Are you going to get ready for the day
at any point or are you perfectly content
with remaining in bed and being serviced
by your servant whores?
MAGNUS
Well if it isnt my dear, sweet wife,
Aurelia. You always have a habit of
appearing at the most inopportune times.
Magnus looks down at the servant who has stopped giving him
head once his wife walked into the room.
MAGNUS
Who told you to stop honey?

Keep going.

Unfazed, Aurelia heads over to her closet and begins

rifling through it looking for the perfect gown.
AURELIA
You know, as emperor you do have some
responsibilities.

14

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
I decide what my responsibilities are.
AURELIA
Youll want to do this one though.
Youre expected at the Senate in an hour
for your coronation.
MAGNUS
Why cant I just do it at the palace?
AURELIA
Because the people should see their new
Emperor.
MAGNUS
(shaking his head)
The people. Fuck the people.
AURELIA
And they probably would say fuck you
back.
MAGNUS
No one would ever dare say fuck the
emperor.
AURELIA
Not to your face, but behind your back
is a different story.
MAGNUS
Ill kill anyone who even thinks that.
AURELIA
Be careful my husband, the people can
turn into a formidable force if properly
motivated.
MAGNUS
Then Ill be sure to crush their
collective spirits to keep them down.
AURELIA
(mockingly)
Thats a good strategy. You know, it
doesnt say anywhere that the emperor
cant be nice and thoughtful to his
subjects.

15

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
The people dont do anything for me,
theyre a drain on my resources. They
should be happy I let them breath my
air.
Magnus looks down at the servant and lifts her head so that
she can look at him.
MAGNUS
OK, Im finished babe. Leave me.
The servant gets up and tries to take a blanket from the
bed to cover her but is quickly stopped by Magnus.
MAGNUS
No blanket my love, that stays on my
bed.
After relinquishing the blanket, the girl leaves the room
naked.
Unflinchingly, Aurelia takes a gown out of her closet and
shows it to Magnus.
AURELIA
What do you think about this gown for
today?
MAGNUS
Its beautiful much like my wife.
AURELIA
(smiles)
Youre such a charmer.
MAGNUS
I have my moments.
With Magnus now laying down in his bed, Aurelia walks over
and kisses him on the lips. Then she climbs into bed,
kisses his chest down to his stomach and proceeds to give
him head.
MAGNUS
Now thats what I like.

16

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

EXT. STREETS OF ROME DAY
Magnus and Aurelia are riding on a chariot through the
streets of Rome which are lined by thousands of CITIZENS,
most of them cheering for the new emperor but there are
some that are booing.
In front of the line of citizens are praetorian guards
which are positioned every 20 feet on either side to keep
the people away from the procession of chariots.
MAGNUS
The people disgust me, I mean look at
them. Ugly, everyone one of them, no
class.
AURELIA
Magnus, theyre not all bad.
MAGNUS
Aurelia, show some respect for my title,
I am emperor to you now.
Magnus is taken aback when his chariot passes by a LOWER
CLASS FAMILY whose six members wife, husband, three
daughters and a son - are all wearing ratty, dirty,
tattered clothes.
MAGNUS
(aggravated)
I cant wait to get back to my palace.
INT. ROMAN SENATE CHAMBER
Magnus is sitting in the middle of the chamber, surrounded
by his praetorian guards and, beyond them, the senators
while hes being crowned by a SENATE REPRESENTATIVE.
SENATE REPRESENTATIVE
And now I present to Rome, the new
emperor, who hereby has chosen the
name Caesar as emperor, Emperor Magnus
Caesar.
Magnus accepts his crown and stands to wave to the senators
filling the chamber.

17

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATE REPRESENTATIVE
Emperor, its customary for the new
emperor to say a few words and address
the senate upon accepting the crown.
Magnus looks around the chamber at all the senators then
decides to just walk off the podium without saying a word.
This confuses the senate representative who follows Magnus
off the dais. The guards hold him back as soon as he
catches up to him.
SENATE REPRESENTATIVE
Pardon me emperor, but youre not going
to say anything to the senators?
Magnus looks back at him in distain.
MAGNUS
No, the senate does not deserve to hear
my words.
SENATE REPRESENTATIVE
But its custom.
MAGNUS
Not anymore.
Magnus turns back around and continues walking, leaving the
senate representative behind.
As he walks, Magnus summons over his trusted advisor,
OCTAVIUS.
MAGNUS
Octavius, round up every available
virgin from the wealthiest of families
and contact all the brothels within
the city limits for their best looking
whores with the worst of morals as I
will be celebrating my coronation at
the palace with a weekend long orgy.
OCTAVIUS
What would you like to do about your
wife?

18

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
She can join in or she can merely be
a spectator, her choice. But procurement of the virgins are key.
OCTAVIUS
Yes sir.
MAGNUS
Start with the richest families first,
no senators though. I dont need to
create potential political enemies on
my first day as emperor.
OCTAVIUS
Yes sir.
INT. MAGNUS PALACE
THE GREAT ROOM
With the celebratory orgy in full swing, Magnus is sitting
on the floor in the middle of his spacious living room area
surrounded by twenty scantily-clad YOUNG LADIES, many of
whom are topless.
Four women are kneeling around Magnus kissing and rubbing
down his body while the rest are sitting on the floor or
standing around the room giggling, kissing and rubbing each
other.
Three females are sitting on a couch having sex with each
other while a couple of other females are standing behind
Magnus waving huge palm leaves to cool him down.
There are also a few YOUNG MALE SERVANTS gallivanting
around the room chasing each other, a few others are making
out with each other on a couch while two others are on the
floor in the corner of the room engaged in sex.
MAGNUS
(shouts out)
More wine! I need more wine.
One of the female servants quickly brings over a jug of
wine. Magnus grabs it from her and takes a big swig then
pours some of it on the chest of the female servant sitting
next to him and licks it off her.

19

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

After that he grabs the servant who brought the jug over
and pulls her down into his lap and starts aggressively
making out with her.
MAGNUS
Emperor life sure is grand!
Aurelia walks into the room and approaches Magnus.
AURELIA
Well it certainly looks like my husband
is having fun tonight.
MAGNUS
Come on, its a celebration my dear.
AURELIA
Theres no pressing state business to
attend to?
MAGNUS
Heavens no, the empire is perfectly
fine and Im in complete control of it.
AURELIA
I can see that.
MAGNUS
Come, join me here.
Aurelia looks at all the attractive females surrounding
Magnus, smiles then kneels down in from of him.
AURELIA
I think I will
Magnus excitedly puts his arms around her waist as she
slowly leans forward looking like shes going to kiss him.
But just as Magnus is about to kiss her, she turns her head
and kisses one of the girls whos sitting next to Magnus
rubbing his chest.
AURELIA (contd)
take one of these girls for myself.
Aurelia stands up, grabs a hold of the girls hand to lift
her up then the two proceed to sit down on a chair and
passionately make out with each other.

20

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Upset, Magnus looks around and immediately demands several
more girls join him.
MAGNUS
I need more girls, right now.

Move!

The ladies move into position on either side of Magnus and

quickly make him forget about his wife.
LATER ON
While the orgy is in full bloom, FIVE SENATORS, who range
in age from young to old and are dressed regally in their
robes, enter the room and approach Magnus.
They are all equally amused and befuddled over entering the
middle of an orgy but they maintain their composure and
remain stoic along their walk.
MAGNUS
Senators, to what do I owe the pleasure
of your visit to?
The senators awkwardly stand there, unsure of what to do,
while a female servant gives Magnus a blowjob.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Ummm, emperor, did we come at a bad
time?
MAGNUS
Why do you ask?
SENATOR THRACIUS
Well, your servants are, ummm, serving
you.
MAGNUS
Thats what they do, thats what they
always do. You come to my palace and
this will be the activity you see at
all times of the day.
SENATOR MARCELLUS
Must be nice to be emperor.
Magnus looks down at the top of the head of the girl
blowing him and runs his fingers through her hair.

21

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
It has its certain benefits. So
Senator Thracius, what do you and your
fellow senators want?
SENATOR THRACIUS
We came to voice some of the collective
concerns weve heard from our constituents.
MAGNUS
There are concerns?
SENATOR THRACIUS
Yes, several.
MAGNUS
I know that Cornelius wasnt the best or
most popular emperor amongst the people,
which is also why he no longer breathes
the same air as we do, but you need to
tell your constituents that its a new
day with me as the unquestioned leader
of Rome.
SENATOR MARCELLUS
Its not that simple emperor.
MAGNUS
Its not?
SENATOR MARCELLUS
No, the people need to see results,
they need to elevate their standard of
living. General utilities in some of
our city sections are falling into ill
repair.
MAGNUS
And this conversation couldnt have
waited until after my celebration?
SENATOR MARCELLUS
No, the people demand action now, they
want to see leadership.
Senator Thracius speaks up in an effort to diffuse the
tension building during the conversation.

22

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR THRACIUS
We are also well aware of your fondness to hold meetings at your palace
so we didnt think wed be intruding
obviously we were wrong.
MAGNUS
Senator Marcellus, are you saying Im
not a leader?
SENATOR MARCELLUS
Emperor, you are the leader in name,
but the people need to see you as a
leader in action.
MAGNUS
(thinking)
Fine. Ill give the people what they
want. I order two weeks of gladiator
fights in the Colosseum. That should
shut them up. People love to be
entertained, it takes them away from
their miserable lives, so Ill entertain them.
SENATOR MARCELLUS
Emperor Magnus, have you even listened
to anything Ive said?
MAGNUS
Quite frankly, I havent listened to
much youve said because you bore me
with discussions of irrelevant topics
as I sit here receiving terrific oral
sex from my gorgeous servant.
SENATOR MARCELLUS
Sir, dont you think instead of meaningless gladiator games the people want
more everyday needs, like clean water,
waste removal, access to medicine?
Magnus, annoyed, looks over to his nearest bodyguard and
points to the senator.
MAGNUS
Ive grown tired of Senator Marcellus.
See to it that hes relieved of his

duties and, more importantly, relieved
of his life.
Two guards approach and start dragging the senator away as
he kicks and screams in a vain attempt to get them to stop.
SENATOR MARCELLUS
(shocked)
You cant do this Magnus, Im a senator!
MAGNUS
I just did.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Emperor, I know he was a junior senator,
a young senator, but do you think that
was the most prudent thing to do?
Magnus gives the four remaining senators a menacing, ice
cold stare for several seconds.
MAGNUS
Does anyone here have a problem with
what I just did?
The senators look at the five physically-imposing
bodyguards who are standing only a few feet away from them
as Thracius swallows hard, nervous about what might happen.
SENATOR THRACIUS
No emperor.
MAGNUS
I want to make it clear that theres a
new order in place for Rome. I rule this
empire, decisively, with an iron fist.
Detractors will be dealt with accordingly.
SENATOR THRACIUS
I see sir.
MAGNUS
Now leave me to my party before I get
even more agitated.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Yes sir.

24

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

The four senators turn and walk away before theyre stopped
by Magnus just before they get to the door.
MAGNUS
Hold it!
The four senators turn back around and look visibly afraid,
worried that Magnus has changed his mind and will now kill
them.
SENATOR THRACIUS
(nervously)
Yes emperor.
MAGNUS
Senators Junius, Laurentius and Fautus,
since you three were smart enough to not
say a single word while in my presence,
you can stay and enjoy the fruits of this
orgy as my guest. Senator Thracius, you
can leave immediately.
Confused, Thracius turns back around and is escorted from
the room by a couple of bodyguards.
MAGNUS
Ladies, see to it that these three
senators are taken care of.
Three young FEMALE SERVANTS slowly and seductively walk
over to the three senators Junius and Fautus are both
distinguished elderly senators while Laurentius is young
with boyish good looks.
The servants take their hands and lead them into the orgy.
They sit them down on the floor and begin passionately
making out. Several other young LADIES who are sitting
close by grab the senators and start making out with them
as well.
Magnus watches on with an evil grin as a female servant
begins pulling Junius robe off and Laurentius motions over
for a young male servant to join him.

25

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

LATER ON
Its very late into the night and the orgy is temporarily
dying down with most of the servants, both female and male,
laying all around the room sleeping.
A groggy Magnus who was sleeping on the floor awakes to
see that everyone else is sleeping so he moves the random
arms of his female servants off his body and stands up.
He grabs his chalice and slowly makes his way through the
room, dodging and stepping over all the passed out bodies
in the way.
Just as hes about to leave the room, hes stopped by
Octavius.
OCTAVIUS
Excuse me emperor, are you ok?
MAGNUS
(disoriented)
Yes, Im fine.
OCTAVIUS
Where are you going?
MAGNUS
Im going to change into something more
comfortable and take a nighttime stroll
through the yard.
OCTAVIUS
Would you like some guards to follow you?
MAGNUS
No, I need some alone time, besides its
my palace, Im safe here.
OCTAVIUS
Very well sir.
MAGNUS
Octavius, why dont you go over there
and take a woman, any woman, your choice.
In fact, take three.
Octavius looks into the room and sees everyone sound
asleep.

26

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

27

OCTAVIUS
Theyre all sleeping though.
MAGNUS
It doesnt matter. Its probably for
the best anyways. Go ahead, go for it.
You earned it today for the solid
quality of women you procured. I had
some good virgin fucks, better than
expected.
Magnus walks out as Octavius slowly walks into the room,
getting ready to make his move on an unsuspecting female
servant.
He cozies up to a passed out female servant sitting on a
chair and begins to lick the side of her face.
EXT. MAGNUS PALACE, BACKYARD GROUNDS
A heavily intoxicated and confused Magnus, who can barely
keep on his robe, stumbles across the backyard grounds by
himself, trampling over several flowers in a garden area
while he periodically takes sips from his chalice.
Magnus makes his way over to his
STABLE HOUSE
Which is an obscenely ornate building made out of gold and
marble. He enters and approaches his most favorite horse.
MAGNUS
There he is, my number one love.
best friend, Palpellius.

My

Magnus puts his arms around the horses neck and gives it a
passionate, almost sensual, embrace.
MAGNUS (contd)
I wish you could be my only true lover,
but no one would understand. I know
Im the emperor, but I dont know if
even I could make that happen.
Magnus pats the horse of his head then gives it a kiss on
the side of his face, again its downright sensual in its
intent.

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
Well if I cant have you, I can at
least give you an advisory position
and title within the office of the
emperor. Good night my sweet stallion.
He gives his horse one more sweet, innocent peck on the
cheek before walking out of the stable house.
BACKYARD GROUNDS
Magnus is now standing in the middle of his spacious yard,
looking up at the hundreds of stars in the sky before
focusing specifically on the twinkling light of Jupiter.
MAGNUS
Jupiter, give me the strength and
guidance to rule Rome the way my
great-grandfather did a long time ago.
Im giving you an open line to me,
whenever you want to talk, whenever
you want to counsel me, Ill be here
listening.
Just as he finishes his talk, hes startled to hear
movement behind him. He jumps around and notices a YOUNG
FEMALE standing behind him.
MAGNUS
What are you doing out here?!
DRUSILLA
Im sorry your excellency, I just came
out here to get some fresh air and I
saw you out here so I thought Id come
over. Im sorry, I didnt know you were
talking to ummm, the umm
(looks up at the sky)
sky?
MAGNUS
Who are you?
DRUSILLA
Im Drusilla.
OK.

MAGNUS
So who are you?

28

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

DRUSILIA
Just a woman.
MAGNUS
I see that, but why should I care about
you? Outside of you being a hot piece
of ass of course. Whos your family?
DRUSILLA
Im the daughter of Decimus Lucilius.
MAGNUS
Yes, your familys very prominent,
your fathers one of the best doctors
in Rome.
DRUSILLA
Thank you.
MAGNUS
Tell me something, have I fucked you
yet today?
No.

DRUSILLA
Im a virgin actually.

MAGNUS
Great, let me be the first to deflower
you tonight.
DRUSILLA
(smiles)
Mmmm, Okay.
Magnus grabs the young ladys hand and leads her over to
the stable house on the other side of the grounds.
MAGNUS
Come with me to the stable house and
help me make my prized horse jealous.
STABLE HOUSE
Magnus is having sex with Drusilla from behind in the
walkway in front of his horses stall. Her hands are
holding onto the gate of the stall while he pulls her hair.
He stares intently into the eyes of his horse whos
watching him at the front of the stall.

29

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Drusilla moans after each deep thrust by Magnus who oddly
begins calling out the name of his beloved horse.
Oh Palpellius!

MAGNUS
Oh Palpellius!

Turns her head back to Magnus.

DRUSILLA
(confused)
My name is Drusilla.
MAGNUS
Shut the fuck up virgin.
Magnus continues banging while Drusilla goes back to heavy
moaning as Palpellius starts to neigh.
Drusilla stretches out her arms and puts her hands on the
horses head to create better leverage but Magnus
immediately swats her arms away.
MAGNUS
And dont put your hands on my horse,
hes mine.
INT. ROMAN COLOSSEUM
In the packed Colosseum, Magnus and Aurelia are sitting in
the ornate emperors box watching the action as TWO
GLADIATORS fight in the center of the arena.
The crowd reacts accordingly to every crushing blow that
lands on each gladiator.
The fight is especially bloody and brutal with each
gladiator managing to cut the other a few times with their
swords, hit each other with their shields and connect on a
few punches.
After some violent back and forth, one of the gladiators
finally gets the upper hand by nailing the other directly
in the face with his shield practically knocking him out.
The triumphant gladiator stands over the other whos lying
in the middle of the arena and looks up to the emperors
box.

30

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

While the crowd jovially yells out their approval or
disapproval, Magnus pauses for a moment to build the drama
before issuing his decree thumbs down to the
overenthusiastic roar of the crowd.
Upon Magnus thumbs down, the gladiator drives his sword
directly through the throat of his opponent which ends up
spitting blood high into the air.
AURELIA
This is incredibly violent.
MAGNUS
The people love it though.
AURELIA
Maybe youre right, maybe the people
are fucked up.
MAGNUS
I told you.
AURELIA
I mean look at them.
Aurelia looks around the Colosseum and sees everyone
celebrating, high-fiving, screaming and laughing over the
gladiators death.
AURELIA (contd)
Hooting and hollering over the death of
their fellow man.
MAGNUS
Please, theyre gladiators, theyre
garbage, retched scum of the earth,
theyre born only to die.
AURELIA
Theyre still people.
MAGNUS
Barely, they truly are sub-human.
COLOSSEUM ANNOUNCER (O.S.)
Spectators, we will now have a fifteen
minute intermission as we prepare for
our next battle with featured gladiators
from around the empire.

31

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

As some spectators mill about, Magnus and Aurelia remain in
their seats and dont talk.
Magnus gets increasingly bored and restless as time goes
by.
MAGNUS
Im bored.
AURELIA
Do you want to take a walk?
MAGNUS
Why would I want to do that?
AURELIA
Exercise?
MAGNUS
Ive got bodyguards to exercise for me.
AURELIA
Do you want something to eat?
MAGNUS
Im not hungry.
OK.

AURELIA
Are you ever not difficult?
MAGNUS
(disinterested)

No.
Magnus looks around the arena and sees all the spectators
yucking it up and behaving like hooligans which just
further disgusts him.
After scanning the crowd, he focuses his eyes on a specific
section that features a bunch of particularly rowdy
spectators.
MAGNUS
I have an idea.
(calls over Octavius)
Octavius, see those spectators down in
that section over there?
He points out the section to Octavius.

32

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

OCTAVIUS
Yes.
MAGNUS
I want you to send down a squadron of
guards, round up those spectators and
throw them in the pit.
OCTAVIUS
(confused)
Sir?
MAGNUS
You heard me correctly. Im bored and
Id like to be entertained.
OCTAVIUS
What are we going to do once theyre in
the pit?
MAGNUS
Release the lions.
OCTAVIUS
Seriously?
MAGNUS
Release the lions. Do it.
Octavius walks over to a guard at the opening of the
emperors box and whispers to him.
AURELIA
You are dark and sadistic, you know
that Magnus?
MAGNUS
Thats Magnus Caesar to you.
A few dozen GUARDS descend down to a section within the
arena in an orderly fashion and surround it so that no one
can escape.
The dozens of spectators - who make up men, women and
children - get eerily quiet and look around quizzically
once they realize that theyve been surrounded by the
emperors heavily armed guards.

33

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Suddenly after a few tense moments all hell breaks loose as
the guards jump into the section and begin throwing
spectators into the pit starting from the front.
Its chaos as guards are tossing spectators from the back
of the section over benches and other people to get them
towards the front so the other guards can throw them into
the pit.
Children are thrown like rag dolls into the pit with some
of them breaking their arms or legs in the fall. They
struggle to stand up due to their injuries.
A majority of the spectators in the other sections are
completely befuddled by the actions of the guards.
The bewildered spectators standing in the pit look around
completely confused about whats going to happen.
After a few moments, the gates open and out run EIGHT LIONS
who immediately begin to chase the spectators around the
arena.
Some are taken down and mauled to death right away while
others run for their lives.
Several of the spectators try to climb the ten foot wall
surrounding the pit to escape but a couple of lions jump
and pull them down to the ground before killing them.
The others are stopped from scaling the wall by guards
above who step on their fingers once they make it to the
top. They fall to the ground and are attacked by lions.
Theres blood and carnage all over the pit with dead bodies
scattered around and blood-curdling screams being heard
from the injured as the rest of the arena looks on in
stunned silence.
Magnus sits in his emperors box laughing manically at the
proceedings while a female servant gives him a backrub.
Aurelia looks on as well but tries to cover her eyes during
some of the more brutal action.
A lion is roaming around the pit with the body of a dead
child in its teeth as it stalks its next victim.

34

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

It approaches a man in the middle of the pit who punches
the lion squarely in the face in desperation.
The punch doesnt affect the lion at all as it violently
smacks the man in the face with its giant paw. The man
falls and the lion jumps on top and rips him apart.
A male spectator who has been running around the pit
avoiding the lions injures his hamstring and pulls up
limping which allows a lion to catch up and tackle him.
Another man who has been running around finally has to pull
up due to exhaustion. He stops to catch his breath
momentarily when hes suddenly jumped from behind by a lion
and bit several times.
Finally all the spectators are dead in the pit as the lions
roam around looking for more prey.
Once they realize that everyone is dead, they gingerly make
their way back to the gates so they can leave the pit. A
few of the lions are dragging dead spectators men, women
and children or their limbs with them.
Magnus is still laughing over the fate of the spectators.
AURELIA
Are you happy?
MAGNUS
(bored)
Strangely, that wasnt as fun as I
thought itd be.
(turns to Octavius)
Octavius, I think we should do something more exciting.
OCTAVIUS
Like what emperor?
MAGNUS
I think I will get into the pit and fight
someone myself. And Ill dedicate it to
my lovely wife Aureliaand the people of
Rome of course.
OCTAVIUS
Sir?

35

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
Yes, bring me my warrior garb and
prepare the biggest, strongest
gladiator you can find for a fight
with the emperor.
OCTAVIUS
Sir?
MAGNUS
(impatiently)
Do it, and do it quickly, the crowd
looks like its getting restless and
Id like to give them something to
remember from their dear leader.
OCTAVIUS
OK, your wish is my command.
AURELIA
Magnus Caesar, are you sure you want
to do this?
MAGNUS
Absolutely, dont worry, I cant lose.
AURELIA
You think?
MAGNUS
Of course, I am the emperor after all.
INT. ROMAN COLOSSEUM, TUNNEL
In the dimly lit bowels of the Colosseum that leads out to
the arena stands a hulking beast of a man named VALERIUS,
the most infamous gladiator in all the land.
Valerius is surround by a phalanx of GUARDS as Octavius
stands in front of him.
Suddenly, an inside gate opens and out walks Magnus with
several bodyguards. Magnus and his men march straight over
to Valerius.
OCTAVIUS
Emperor Magnus Caesar, Id like to
introduce you to the most feared
(MORE)

36

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

OCTAVIUS (contd)
gladiator in all the Roman lands,
Valerius.
MAGNUS
So you are indeed the gladiator they
call Valerius?
Magnus walks in a circle around Valerius sizing him up,
impressed by his bulk and height.
VALERIUS
That I am Emperor Magnus Caesar.
MAGNUS
Ive heard much about you and I must
say you do not disappoint. Im
impressed. Youve taken on the
worst criminals from Rome, youve
taken on prisoners from outside the
empire, youve taken on a gaggle of
Christians at once, youve even tamed
wild beasts imported from all over
the world. Every time youve come
out victorious. In fact no matter
the odds youve always won handily,
with hardly a scratch on you in the
process.
Magnus gives him a playful slap on his ass.
MAGNUS (contd)
So yes, color me impressed. In any
other situation Id probably be
fucking you, not fighting you.
VALERIUS
(confused)
Fighting me? Pardon me emperor, but
what do you mean?
MAGNUS
Were both going to go out there into
the pit and Im going to kick your
fucking ass in front of all of Rome.
And when I have you begging for mercy,
itll be my own thumb that seals your
fate for eternity.

37

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Magnus shoves his fist in front of Valerius face and
points his thumb down.
VALERIUS
(laughs)
With all due respect emperor
MAGNUS
(angrily)
How dare you laugh in the presence of
your emperor.
VALERIUS (contd)
How do you ever think that you could
defeat me?
MAGNUS
Because I am the emperor of Rome and I
am all powerful.
VALERIUS
You might think youre all powerful
Valerius flexes his arms and legs showing off his
incredible muscles and well-defined body.
VALERIUS (contd)
But I can assured you, you dont have
muscles like this and your strength is
nothing compared to mine.
MAGNUS
That may be true, but I have something
you dont have.
VALERIUS
And whats that?
Magnus nods his head at Octavius who is standing next to a
lit torch and holding an arrow-tipped spear to it.
MAGNUS
Fire.
VALERIUS
Fire?

38

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

With that, SIX GUARDS come from behind Valerius and hold
his arms and legs while Octavius approaches and pushes the
red-hot burning spear right into his eye.
Valerius lets out blood-curdling screams as he tries
everything he can to free himself from the guards but even
his strength isnt enough to get loose.
MAGNUS
I figure itll take a good 10-20 seconds
of direct searing heat that youre
currently feeling from this red-hot
spear to blind you in your eye.
Octavius holds the spear in his eye for an agonizing amount
of time to the delight of Magnus.
MAGNUS
Not such a badass after all, Ive never
seen such a tough gladiator act like
such a little bitch.
Magnus taps Octavius to stop him and then he gets up close
to see the burn in and around Valerius eye.
MAGNUS
Damn Valerius, that looks rough.
He looks at Octavius and gives him another nod.
MAGNUS
OK, now do the other eye.
VALERIUS
(pleads for his life)
No please, mercy emperor! Have mercy
on me! I need to see. I cant live
like this!
Octavius approaches and pushes the red-hot burning spear
right into Valerius other eye.
MAGNUS
Dont worry, you wont be alive for
much longer.
Valerius again lets out blood-curdling screams as the
intense heat hits his eye.

39

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Hes now become very weak and barely even struggles to free
himself from the guards.
After a few seconds, Valerius goes down on his knees as
Octavius just pushes the spear harder into his eye.
Too exhausted and too hurt now, hes barely able to make
any sounds or offer any resistance.
After a few more seconds for good measure, Magnus finally
pats Octavius on the shoulder to make him stop.
MAGNUS
Lets see how the big, bad gladiator
is doing now.
Magnus gets down on his knees to look eye level at
Valerius, who is just sobbing on his knees and rubbing his
eyes.
MAGNUS
I have to say, youve looked better.
Lets do a test
He holds two fingers up in front of Valerius face.
MAGNUS (contd)
How many fingers am I holding up?
Valerius, whos now blinded in both eyes, is aimlessly
feeling around on the ground with his hands while still
being held onto by the guards.
VALERIUS
Fuck you!
A guard walks in front of Valerius and punches him squarely
in the face due to his insubordination.
MAGNUS
(wiggles his fingers)
Are you sure? No guess?
VALERIUS
Eat a lions penis asshole.
The guard punches him again squarely in the face for his
words against the emperor.

40

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Then Magnus stands up and pats Valerius on the top of his
head.
MAGNUS
(laughs)
Very good. Youve passed the test.
(looks at the guards)
Put him in position in the arena,
make sure he wears a helmet to conceal
the burn marks.
(looks at Octavius)
Octavius, dress me in my warrior gear.
The six guards stand Valerius up and walk him towards the
gate that leads to the arena.
OCTAVIUS
Make sure he walks upright men, no
slouching, nothing to give off the
appearance that hes injured.
As Valerius and the guards leave, Octavius adorns Magnus
with his battle gear, sticks a knife on his waist and
drapes his body with lion skin.
Once his gear is on, Octavius hands him a club as the last
part of his costume.
Magnus straightens out his lion skin and proudly looks at
Octavius.
MAGNUS
(smiles)
I look like Hercules, dont I?
OCTAVIUS
You do my emperor.
MAGNUS
I feel like a divine hero.
OCTAVIUS
And in a few minutes, the people of
Rome will see you as one.
MAGNUS
I am a God.

41

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

OCTAVIUS
Emperor Magnus Caesar, its time.
MAGNUS
Lets go.
Magnus and Octavius begin walking up the pathway towards
the entrance to the arena.
EXT. ROMAN COLOSSEUM DAY
Magnus emerges from the tunnel and into the arena to a
mixtures of cheers and jeers from the raucous spectators.
He doesnt acknowledge the crowd as he heads towards
Valerius who is being closely watched by the surrounding
six guards.
COLOSSEUM ANNOUNCER (O.S.)
And in a most unprecedented matchup,
the emperor, Emperor Magnus Caesar,
has decided to prove his deity to the
people of Rome by stepping into battle
himself against none other than the
greatest gladiator to live during now
or any other time of the Roman Empire,
a man that remains undefeated against
man and beast alike but who has never
faced a living god before, Valerius!
Magnus nods to the surrounding bodyguards who quickly run
off to the perimeter of the pit.
He wastes no time by lifting up his club and smashing it
across the face of Valerius to the roar of the crowd.
Valerius swings around wildly in vain as he tries to get
lucky and catch Magnus with a punch.
But Magnus is too quick and moving around too fluidly for
the blinded gladiator.
Magnus hits him with a few more whacks from his club but,
to his credit, Valerius maintains his footing although he
is stumbling around.
With his cockiness building, Magnus starts to play to the
crowd and raises his arms in triumph after every hit.

42

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

The crowd continues to roar its approval over the utter
domination Magnus is showing, unaware that Valerius is
blind.
MAGNUS
Youre making this look too easy, can
you put up a fight for the spectators
at least? Make it look a little
legitimate?
The fight is totally a one-sided affair even as Valerius
fights on valiantly; but his wild punching and knife
swinging arent getting anywhere close to him.
Magnus continues to wear him down with a barrage of hits
from his club and punches to the back of his neck and head
when hes standing behind him.
Valerius receives a devastating club hit to the side of his
head which visibly stuns him but he still doesnt go down.
Magnus stands in front of him admiring his work as he
watches Valerius helplessly stumble around.
MAGNUS
Any final last words?
VALERIUS
I told you them already.

Fuck you!

With that, Magnus gives him a crushing uppercut with his

club which finally knocks Valerius down.
In the middle of the arena, Magnus stands over him in
triumph and looks around the crowd for approval.
He soaks up all the admiration then quiets down the crowd
with a finger to his lips.
Once the crowd quiets, Magnus dramatically holds his fist
out then, after a few tense moments, puts his thumb down.
As the crowd roars, Magnus lifts the club over his head and
in one motion smashes it down directly into Valerius face,
crushing his skull and killing him.
Blood quickly puddles up besides Magnus as he raises his
arms in victory and walks towards the exit as flowers rain
down on him from the spectator seated above.

43

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Valerius body remains in the middle of the arena, a bloody
mess.
INT. MAGNUS PALACE
DINING ROOM
Magnus and Aurelia are in mid-conversation while enjoying
an incredible feast in their lavish dining room.
AURELIA
So youve had your orgies, youve had
your two weeks of gladiator fights, do
you ever intend to actually govern over
your empire?
MAGNUS
To clarify, the orgies will continue
throughout my reign, but to answer your
question, what do you think Ive been
doing? I am governing!
AURELIA
Magnus Caesar, what kind of ruler do you
want to be?
MAGNUS
All powerful.
AURELIA
All powerful and?
MAGNUS
Whatever do you mean?
AURELIA
What kind of ruler do you want to be to
the people?
MAGNUS
You know I dont care about the people.
AURELIA
You should at least feign compassion,
for the sake of your relations with the
senate.
MAGNUS
I should just dissolve the senate.

44

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

AURELIA
You would do so at your own peril.
Youre powerful, yes, but youre not
that powerful yet.
MAGNUS
One day I will be and thats when I
make my move. I will abolish the Senate
and exert my rule as the only true power
in the land.
AURELIA
And until that day comes, Ill ask again,
what kind of ruler do you want to be to
the people?
MAGNUS
Why do you care so much?
AURELIA
I dont know, maybe because I thought
itd be interesting dinner conversation,
maybe Im curious about your politics,
or maybe Im just concerned for you.
MAGNUS
(laughs)
Concerned for me? Ha! Man, we certainly
give way too much power and authority to
women in our society now. My ancestors
would be rolling over in their graves if
they knew my wife was openly questioning
me like this. That would be a hanging
offense in days past. Let me ask you,
what is there ever to be concerned about?
AURELIA
Its no secret that four of the last
six emperors have either been
assassinated or passed away under
very mysterious circumstances.
MAGNUS
And you think thatll happen to me?
AURELIA
Well you have to admit, the odds are
against you dying a natural death.

45

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
(laughs)
Well maybe Ill just live forever,
ever think of that?
AURELIA
No one lives forever.
MAGNUS
Mere mortals dont, but gods do.
AURELIA
And you think youre a god?
MAGNUS
I am emperor.
AURELIA
Even still, I do worry.
MAGNUS
You worry too muchand your ridiculous.
AURELIA
OK, so answer my question if Im being
so ridiculous.
MAGNUS
I just want to be the emperor that all
my ancestors would hope Id be.
AURELIA
And what does that mean?
MAGNUS
Someone that can move the family name
forward, make history, have our dynasty
remembered for centuries, no, millenniums
to come.
AURELIA
And how are you going to do that?
MAGNUS
Build statues, ornate palaces, huge
cities thatll stand the test of time
dedicated to the memory of me and my
family, monuments, the biggest the world
(MORE)

46

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS (contd)
has ever seen. Theyll make the
Egyptian Pyramids look like anthills.
AURELIA
Is that really financially responsible?
How will the city pay for all this?
MAGNUS
I will expand my empire, grab new distant
lands, rape their commodities and enslave
the foreign populace to work for me and
the people of Rome. That is the plan, I
intend to enforce it and I will succeed.
AURELIA
And you think the senate will be good with
this?
MAGNUS
Theyll have to be, they have no choice.
Align or die, thats my message.
AURELIA
Are you going to speak to them about your
master plan?
MAGNUS
I will be at the senate tomorrow to
speak actually. Or at least listen.
Ill probably do more listening than
speaking, Im curious to hear first
where they stand on what they perceive
to be the pressing issues of the day,
that way I can strategize how I position
my agenda back to them.
AURELIA
And if none of their issues or positions
align with yours?
MAGNUS
Again, align or die is the message
theyll have to accept, whether its
through the sound of my voice, the
strength of my actions or the tip of
sword.

47

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

AURELIA
Well, I bid you good luck then.
INT. ROMAN SENATE CHAMBER
Magnus sits on an elevated platform in the middle of the
platform looking bored and totally disinterested in the
current proceedings as all the SENATORS, both young and
old, are seated or stand around him.
Several PRAETORIAN GUARDS stand close by the emperor at the
ready in case anyone makes a threatening move towards him.
Magnus spends most of his time staring at the floor,
concentrating on something, anything as long as its not
the senate session.
At one point, like a child, he watches a spider crawl
around the floor as a senators speech drags on and on.
The senators, all of whom have been remarkably patient with
the emperor, quickly begin to lose their temper.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Excuse me emperor but are you going to
pay attention to the proceedings at hand
or are you content with just counting
the marble tiles on the senate chamber
floor? For I can assure you Magnus
Caesar, the number of tiles havent
changed in at least the last few hundred
years.
MAGNUS
Im sorry Senator Thracius, were you
saying something?
SENATOR THRACIUS
Emperor, were trying to conduct serious,
meaningful business in this session.
Its important, and as such I think you
should listen respectfully to what the
senators have to say.
MAGNUS
You bore me though, you all do.

48

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR THRACIUS
Running an empire shouldnt be thought
of as boring.
MAGNUS
Get one thing straight Senator Thracius,
I run this empire while all you senators
just stand around bloviating. Im a man
of action. You speak, I do. Thats how
Romes always been and thats how itll
remain while Im emperor.
SENATOR THRACIUS
But Magnus Caesar, while its true that
the emperor might have final say, all
emperors of the past have leaned on the
senates guidance and wisdom to craft
policy.
Frustrated, Magnus finally takes his eyes off the floor and
looks directly at the senator.
MAGNUS
OK, fine, if it means this session can
end sooner, Ill humor you and the
chamber. So what is on your agenda?
SENATOR THRACIUS
The same things that weve been asking
for since youve taken the throne, the
same things we tried to ask you about
when we came to your palace, construction
of a new aqueduct to bring more clean
water to the citizens of Rome and repairs
in the sewer system throughout the city
to cut the amount of backups.
MAGNUS
And how do you expect Rome to pay for
all this extravagance?
SENATOR THRACIUS
Emperor, if you think clean water and
proper sanitation is extravagance then
you, my dear leader, have a different
interpretation of what that word means
than do I.

49

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
So you dont have a solution as to how
to fund these public works projects?
SENATOR THRACIUS
I know for a fact theres a surplus in
the central treasury.
Magnus looks over to SENATOR TACITUS, a middle-aged
distinguished-looking gentleman sitting quietly towards the
side of the chamber.
MAGNUS
Senator Tacitus.
SENATOR TACITUS
(startled)
Yes emperor?
MAGNUS
You have a teenaged daughter, is that
right?
SENATOR TACITUS
(confused)
Yes, she just turned seventeen two weeks
ago.
MAGNUS
To my recollection, shes cute too, right?
SENATOR TACITUS
Yes, shes a pretty, young girl.
MAGNUS
Excellent, bring her to me tonight as
Id like to deflower her, but dont
Worry, Ill be sure to make a proper
woman of her.
SENATOR TACITUS
(awkwardly)
Yes sir.
Magnus then looks at SENATOR HORATIUS, a younger gentleman
whos sitting next to Tacitus.

MAGNUS
Senator Horatius, your wife can join
as well, Ill be happy to make it a
threesome.
SENATOR HORATIUS
(whispers to himself)
My how generous of you.
MAGNUS (contd)
Im sure youll be proud that she will
be bedded by the Roman emperor. Only a
quarter of the ladies of Rome can make
that claim.
SENATOR THRACIUS
(impatiently)
Emperor, this is the peoples time while
were in this chamber, perhaps you can
work on your social engagements once you
leave this session?
Fine.

MAGNUS
Where were you?

SENATOR THRACIUS
I was talking about using treasury funds
for the public works projects.
MAGNUS
That cant happen.
SENATOR THRACIUS
And why not?
MAGNUS
Because I have those funds earmarked for
other projects.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Whats more important than public works?
MAGNUS
Im demolishing Emperor Cornelius palace
and building a new ornate palace covered
in gold as my new residence.

51

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR THRACIUS
(laughs)
Is that really necessary?
MAGNUS
My palace is not suitable for the new
Roman emperor.
SENATOR THRACIUS
I can assure you it most certainly is.
MAGNUS
And I can ensure you its not. My horses
have outgrown their stables and I, and
my servants, will no doubt soon grow out
of our space.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Emperor, dont you think there are more
pressing needs?
MAGNUS
That is a pressing need, the people of
Rome need to see their emperor living
like a god, it gives them pride, it
gives them hope, it gives them something
to believe in.
SENATOR THRACIUS
And you need to knock down Emperor
Cornelius palace why?
MAGNUS
We need to eradicate the bad energy, the
horrible karma.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Some of us in this chamber actually liked
Emperor Cornelius.
MAGNUS
And those of them who speak of his name
again, whether in this forum or outside
it, will be held on treason and hung.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Thats awfully harsh for someone just
holding an opinion.

52

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
Like I said, all his bad energy needs to
be wiped off earth.
SENATOR THRACIUS
So Emperor, about the allocation of
treasury funds
Magnus stands up from his seat on the podium.
MAGNUS
(interrupts)
Thatll be all from me for today.
SENATOR THRACIUS
(confused)
But emperor, we just got started and
havent made any decisions yet.
MAGNUS
Ive made mine though and those are
the only ones that matter in Rome.
SENATOR THRACIUS
So youre leaving, just like that?
MAGNUS
Yes.
Magnus walks off the podium and towards the exit surrounded
by his guards.
SENATOR THRACIUS
But you cant.
MAGNUS
I am though. Its OK, if anyone needs
to see me they can make an appointment
through my secretary at the palace, but
I will be busy and traveling for the
foreseeable future so I may not be
around.
After the emperor and his guards leave the chamber, Senator
Thracius looks around to his fellow senators completely
dumbfounded then throws up his hands in disbelief.

53

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR THRACIUS
(incredulously)
Unbelievable.
INT. PRIVATE ROOM WITHIN THE ROMAN SENATE BUILDING
After the session ends, Senator Thracius is pacing around a
small, private room off of the senate chamber with six of
his fellow senators Tacitus, Horatius, Junius,
Laurentius, Fautus and OVIDIUS, a younger senator similar
in age to Laurentius seated around a table.
SENATOR THRACIUS
We need to stop Emperor Magnus Caesar
before he gains too much power, hes
going to destroy Rome.
SENATOR LAURENTIUS
But sir, hes got the praetorian guard
fiercely on his side. Thats a formidable
opponent for anyone, even someone with as
much stature as yourself.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Laurentius, we cant sit around and
remain idle while the emperor pilfers
our treasury and rapes our wives and
daughters. Senator Tacitus how do you
feel knowing that your precious seventeen year old daughter will be getting
fucked by the emperor in only a few
hours from now. Senator Horatius, are
you happy that your wife will be joining
in on this orgy and be forced to fuck
Tacitus daughter?
Senator Tacitus and Horatius just sit quietly.
SENATOR THRACIUS (contd)
I didnt think so. You see gentlemen,
and allow me to be selfish and forget
about the people for a moment but,
Emperor Magnus dastardly deeds directly
impact our lives.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
So what do you suggest we do?

54

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR THRACIUS
We need to kill him.
SENATOR FAUTUS
And how do you suppose we do that?
Laurentius said it himself, the
Praetorian guard is extremely loyal
to him, he barely leaves his palace
and when he does leave hes constantly
surrounded by a phalanx of bodyguards.
SENATOR THRACIUS
Everyone can be murdered. No one
watches their back all the time, people
slip up, its human nature, we just
have to make sure were there when
he does. We have to be vigilant,
flexible and agile.
SENATOR JUNIUS
That all sounds well and good, but its
more wishful thinking and not exactly a
strategy.
SENATOR THRACIUS
And thats exactly why I called this
meeting of like-minded senators. So
we can develop our path forward in
order to truly put Rome back in the
hands of the people. Look around the
room gentlemen.
Thracius pauses to allow the other senators the time to
look around the room at their fellow senators.
SENATOR THRACIUS (contd)
These are your fellow conspirators
thatll kill the emperor and return
Rome to glory. Congratulations.
EXT. MAGNUS PALACE NIGHT
Its the dead of night and the gate at the front of Magnus
enormous property slowly cracks open.
Magnus cautiously sticks his head out to see if anyones
around. Strangely hes dressed in drag, complete with a
wig and heavy makeup including lipstick and eyeliner.

55

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Once he sees that no ones around, Magnus takes a few steps
out onto the street as EIGHT BODYGUARDS follow behind him.
The bodyguards create a perimeter around Magnus as he walks
down the street.
EXT. STREETS OF ROME - NIGHT
A turn here, a turn there, Magnus and his bodyguards make
their way through the deserted streets of Rome in the
middle of the night.
Finally, Magnus sees a sign of life as he walks down a
street, its a HOMELESS MAN, covered up in a blanket,
stumbling towards the men.
As he gets closer, Magnus puts his arm up to shield his
face while his bodyguards form a tighter perimeter around
the emperor as a precautionary measure.
The bodyguards, who would typically stare down potential
foes as an intimidation tactic, avoid eye contact with the
man so as to not draw attention to themselves.
The homeless man walks by without incident, not realizing
that he was temporarily in the presence of the emperor.
MAGNUS
(to himself)
That was close.
Magnus and his bodyguards continue walking through the
streets of Rome until they come up to a non-descript twostory building along the side of the road.
Magnus knocks on the door and after a few moments, a
sexily-dressed BROTHEL MADAM, opens the door.
BROTHEL MADAM
Yes, can I help you?
The madam, who doesnt initially recognize Magnus, looks at
the bodyguards and finally realizes whos standing before
her.
BROTHEL MADAM
Magnus! What a surprise, I didnt think
Id see you anymore after you became
emperor.

56

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
Just because Im emperor now doesnt
mean I stopped craving sexual depravity.
BROTHEL MADAM
Thats certainly correct.
MAGNUS
Hows the place tonight?
BROTHEL MADAM
A little bit quiet tonight, a few men
here though.
MAGNUS
How many women you have working?
BROTHER MADAM
Eight.
MAGNUS
Good.
BROTHEL MADAM
So are you a customer or a worker tonight?
MAGNUS
I want to be one of your girls.
BROTHEL MADAM
(smiles)
Very good. Come in and let me get you
settled.
INT. BROTHEL
Magnus enters the brothel with his bodyguards. He turns to
his men at the entrance and gives them his orders.
MAGNUS
Men, go relax at the bar for a few hours.
PRAETORIAN GUARD #1
But emperor, were under direct orders
to remain at your side at all times.
MAGNUS
I understand that, but Im working now
(MORE)

57

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS (contd)
and need to remain incognito, having
eight praetorian guards around me wont
help. So leave me.
The madam grabs Magnus hand and leads him through a bar
area where the guards immediately start mingling with the
scantily-clad PROSTITUTES who are lounging throughout with
other men that are visiting the establishment.
The men quickly stop talking to the prostitutes once they
see the physically-imposing guards come to the bar and
start chatting with the ladies.
Next, the madam leads Magnus through an opulent living room
area.
BROTHEL MADAM
Ill set you up with your own bedroom so
you and your customers can have complete
privacy.
MAGNUS
Thank you, and remember I require complete
anonymity and total discretion while Im
here.
BROTHEL MADAM
Of course, none of my girls and no
customer will ever know your true
identity. Even before you were emperor
I never told any of the girls who you
were.
MAGNUS
Good, because Id hate to have to
repossess and close this business if my
little extracurricular activities ever
went public.
The madam leads Magnus down a hallway towards a
BEDROOM
Where she opens the door and lets Magnus in.
BROTHEL MADAM
Here you go. Make yourself comfortable.

58

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Magnus looks around at the well-appointed room which has a
bed, a dresser and sitting area with table.
BROTHEL MADAM (contd)
Is everything to your liking?
He decides to sit on the edge of the bed.
MAGNUS
Yes, yes it is.
BROTHEL MADAM
So what are you in the mood for tonight?
MAGNUS
A man, preferably a younger man,
distinguished, sexy, has good taste,
beautiful eyes with a firm handshake
and a firmer ass.
BROTHEL MADAM
Well its late, but that shouldnt be
too hard to find in Rome. Relax in here
and Ill bring you a customer when the
right one comes.
Once the madam leaves and closes the door behind her,
Magnus looks at himself intently in the mirror and
carefully fixes several strands of hair on his wig as a
single tear falls down his cheek followed by one more.
ENTRANCE
Later, Senator Ovidius sheepishly enters the brothel by
himself and is quickly met by the madam.
BROTHEL MADAM
Good evening sir, its a little late for
a stroll dont you think? Do you happen
to be lost?
SENATOR OVIDIUS
No, I know exactly where I am.
BROTHEL MADAM
(smiles)
Well in that case, how can I help you?

59

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

SENATOR OVIDIUS
Im looking for something special.
BROTHEL MADAM
Youre in the right place, we have plenty
of special women here.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
How about men?
BROTHEL MADAM
We have those too.
The madam grabs Ovidius arm to feel his muscles and is
immediately impressed.
BROTHER MADAM (contd)
Nice, very nice. In fact, youre in
luck, we have a very special guest in
the house tonight for only a few hours.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
(curiously)
Is he good-looking?
BROTHEL MADAM
Oh yes and hes certainly a people
pleaser too.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
Very well, I would like to meet him.
BROTHEL MADAM
Excellent, Ill take you right to him.
The madam grabs a hold of Ovidius hand and leads him
through the bar area where a few of the guards have already
made themselves comfortable.
Still wearing their helmets and breastplates, one is making
out with a prostitute seated next to him while another is
having sex with a prostitute from behind against the bar.
This pales in comparison to two other guards who are double
teaming a prostitute on either side of her by the bar.

BEDROOM
Senator Ovidius is laying on the bed with his back against
the wall moaning as Magnus lays on top blowing him.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
God damn, it feels so good.
MAGNUS
Thats because your penis tastes so
delightful.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
Im going to release in your mouth.
MAGNUS
Go for it.
Ovidius moans loudly as he climaxes in Magnus mouth.
MAGNUS
Damn, thats so good. I want every
last drop.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
Take it.
Afterwards Magnus crawls up towards the top of the bed so
that hes eye level with Ovidius and starts kissing him on
the lips.
While theyre hot and heavy, Ovidius starts rubbing his
hand through Magnus hair and accidentally dislodges his
wig.
The wig falls to the ground which allows Ovidius to easily
identify Magnus even with his make-up on.
His ability to identify him freaks Magnus out.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
What the hell?
MAGNUS
What?
SENATOR OVIDIUS
Emperor Magnus Caesar?

61

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

MAGNUS
(startled)
No.
Ovidius grabs Magnus head and pushes it back slightly so
he can get a good look at his face.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
(shocked)
It is you.
MAGNUS
No its not.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
It most certainly is!
MAGNUS
And what if it is? So what?
SENATOR OVIDIUS
I just never expected the emperor of
Rome to be residing late night at the
citys most infamous brothel.
MAGNUS
And I never expected to be servicing a
senator, especially one as junior as
yourself. I thought this kind of
behavior was usually the domain of the
elders.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
What are you doing here?
MAGNUS
Even the emperor has wants and needs.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
Which can be taken care of in the palace,
no?
MAGNUS
This is different, this offers an
exciting, different kind of thrill.
Something I cant get at my palace.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
I see.

62

Caesar Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese

Ovidius puts his hands over his face in disbelief.
SENATOR OVIDIUS (contd)
I cant believe the emperor blew me.
MAGNUS
Senator Ovidius, if you tell anyone
about this rendezvous, I will kill you.
(pauses)
I did love the oral sex though.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
And I as well. So where do we go from
here?
Magnus caresses Ovidius face while he sits back and thinks.
MAGNUS
Down?
Magnus looks down at his penis, drawing Ovidius eyes to it
as well.
SENATOR OVIDIUS
I can do that.
Magnus forcefully pushes Ovidius head down towards his
crotch.
MAGNUS
Your turn this time.
Magnus tilts his head back and moans with ecstasy as
Ovidius begins giving him head.
FADE OUT
