Title of the project : Easy Math Clinic ( Multiplication )


Objective of the project :
At the end of the lesson, the students were able to solve math questions involving
multiplication with various techniques.
Description of the Project ( with picture or photos )
Name of the project: Easy Math Clinic (Multiplication)
Date : 17 Mei 2014
Time : 8.00 am 11.00 am ( 3 hours)
Venue : Dataran Ilmu, SK Taman Dato Harun (SATU)
On May 17, 2014 on Saturday, a Clinic of Easy Math was held at Dataran Ilmu,
SK Taman Dato Harun (SATU). The Program starts at 8.00 a.m. and ended at 11.00
am. This programmed is one of the necessary components implemented by me for
innovation project to complete the practicum is 10 weeks were in this school. This Easy
Math clinic came out from a discussions between myself and Mathematics Panels
members which aims to enhance the skills of students in mastering multiplication tables
and operations. Therefore a Organizer from a Committee Members was formed and
given responsibility based on specific terms of reference. The Program is divided into 2
sessions. The first session is about to introduce a method to build multiplication tables
of 5 to 9 with quick step and simple calculations

of multiplication 11 and simple

calculation with base of 10. Time allocate for this session is about 1 hours. Students are
shown a quick techniques to build a multiplication table and the techniques to
calculation about multiply of 11 and base of 10.then, students were tried the techniques
to solve the question that given by teachers. Then, students will discuss with teachers
the answer and techniques that were uses.
While at the second session is to introduction and enhancement of operational
calculation method of multiplication using lattice multiplication techniques and Sullam
techniques. The main purpose of the workshop was to expose and provide students
with a variety of techniques of multiplication calculation. So Students has to know a
more techniques and also can choose the easier technique in multiplication. In addition

it is also aimed at enhancing the confidence of students in solving the question of


multiplication. Time allocates to introduce the Lattice technique is about 1 hour and the
rest of time is to introduce the Sullam Multiplication technique. Students are given a few
question and tried to solve with the techniques that they known. Then, teacher has
introduced the Lattice technique and discusses with students how to solve the
multiplication question with the Lattice Technique. Then, students tried to solve the
multiplication problem that given by teachers with Lattice Technique. Then, teacher
repeat the same step to introduce the Sullam Multiplication Technique. The clinics close
by a simple quizzes to analyze the students understand about the skill.

Outcome of the project

Through project innovation carried out found the entire students can solve
multiplication questions easily and correctly. Students feel fun while performing activities
of the calculation. Students also discuss one another during problem solving. The clinic
easy math conducted provide more knowledge to the students to solve the questions
multiply. Students are also seen more confident in answering the questions multiply
after the introduced techniques of Lattice and Sullam. The cooperation of the students
is very good. In conclusion 60 of the 62 students who attended the clinic can solve
multiplication questions according to time. 2 of 62 participants cannot settle the question
according to the time set is because basic tables still weak and need guidance. So the
clinic carried out successfully achieving the objective. In addition, the technique that
introduced is new techniques for the teachers involved and majority of them agreed to
apply the techniques in the daily class and other students.
