Qubica Legacy Partners Ownership Team Now Own QubicaAMF

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - December 1, 2014,
QubicaAMF Worldwide (QubicaAMF), the world's largest
manufacturer of bowling products, is shaking things up
once again. The industry leader announces that the Qubica
legacy partners, Roberto Vaioli, Luca Drusiani, Emanuele
Govoni, Guido Sorba, Pat Ciniello, Frank Mascadri and
Rich Albright, have finalized a transaction with Bowlmor
AMF to acquire their ownership in the company. After nearly a decade since the creation of QubicaAMF, the company
will operate under a single private ownership.
Qubica Worldwide (Qubica), which was founded in 1993
with 10,000 USD of capital by three co-founders, Roberto
Vaioli, Luca Drusiani and Emanuele Govoni, quickly
became a success. The company installed equipment on
over 35,000 lanes in more than 50 countries, becoming the
industry's technology leader, and the third largest bowling
products company in the world, in less than 12 years.
After acquiring the former Mendes company in 2003, the

owners of Qubica entered into a 50/50 joint venture with the

owners of AMF Bowling Products in June 2005, to form
QubicaAMF. In September 2013, the Qubica founders and
legacy partners bought the remaining shares from the
European private equity fund that co-owned Qubica, giving
them 50% ownership of QubicaAMF. Just over one year
later, the Qubica legacy partners have acquired 100% ownership of QubicaAMF.
Emanuele Govoni, former CEO of Qubica Worldwide and
QubicaAMF Chief Marketing Officer will serve as the CEO
of QubicaAMF.
"With this transaction we are going back to our roots, and
believe we are positioning our company, and the entire
bowling industry, for a new era. We are extremely honored
after 20 years of experience in this great industry, to now
have the opportunity to take the legendary AMF brand
along with Qubica, to the next level. Since the inception of
Qubica in 1993, we have been incredibly lucky and blessed

and are very thankful our journey in the bowling industry

will continue for many years to come," said says Emanuele,
the newly appointed CEO for QubicaAMF. "To make this
happen, our group decided to invest our own money. We are
all in for this industry and believe in this company, in our
customers and in our many great employees around the
world. We are very excited about the potential and the
opportunities around the future of bowling. Bowling has
great fundamentals as a business, as an entertainment activity and as a sport. We will work hard to contribute to the
creation of a revitalized and re-energized industry where
fun, innovation and transformation will spur new economic
growth for our customers around the world."
Pat Ciniello, former President and Chairman of Qubica
Worldwide and President of QubicaAMF Worldwide, LLC
will be the Chairman of the Board of QubicaAMF.

"Over the last few years, while many companies have been adversely
affected by the global slowdown, QubicaAMF has continued to aggressively invest in its product lines to dramatically increase our customer's
success. Products such as BES X, the new Harmony Line and the XLi
Edge have been the result of nearly 5 years of continued investment. I
personally have continued to believe in bowling, building two new
bowling entertainment centers," says Pat Ciniello, Chairman of the
Board of QubicaAMF. "QubicaAMF is uniquely positioned, and fully
dedicated, to continue on the path of delivering the most innovative,
high quality products to make our customers more profitable and make
bowling a fun and top of mind entertainment destination to attract millions of new consumers."
QubicaAMF has revolutionized the bowling industry many times over
with its product innovations and industry-firsts beginning with the first
mass produced automatic pinspotter introduced by AMF in 1946, the
world's first Surlyn coated bowling pin, the first mechanical bumper system, its best-selling Conqueror Pro center management system, the XLi
EDGE Pinspotter, BES X, the world's only Bowler Entertainment
System, and most recently the new, turn-key Harmony Furniture, Ball
Return and Masking System Line.
"Technology and innovation are our passion. They are part of who we
are," says Roberto Vaioli, Chief Product Architect for QubicaAMF.
"That's why, unlike any other company, we continue to invest in and
maintain the largest employed R&D team in the industry. We don't outsource this, R&D is our soul."
"Creating a great place to work for our employees and a big multinational family, is our mission. We believe that if we treat our employees
as family members and inspire and empower them to succeed, they will
take care of our customers delivering the tools and the service they need
to prevail and grow in the crowded entertainment arena," says Luca
Drusiani, SVP Operations for QubicaAMF Italy.

Bowling Dignitaries, Fans Get First Look at New South Point Bowling Plaza
State-of-art 60-lane facility to host GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling VI television finals this weekend
By Bill Vint - PBA

LAS VEGAS A crowd of bowling dignitaries and Las Vegas business leaders got a
first look at the future home of the Professional Bowlers Association World Series of
Bowling when South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa unveiled its new 60-lane, state-ofthe-art South Point Bowling Plaza.
The $35 million facility will make its public debut with the ESPN television finals
of seven GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling VI events, six of which will be telecast on ESPN beginning Sunday, Dec. 14. The seventh event will be the live stepladder finals of the PBA World Series of Bowling on Sunday, Jan. 11.
Its a beautiful facility, said PBA Commissioner Tom Clark. The PBA is proud to
be giving the Plaza its first memories with our ESPN-televised events. PBA history
defines bowling and the walls of the Plaza will be echoing with the cheers and excitement we provide. It will be the start of a great relationship between the PBA and the
Plaza for many years to come.
The South Point Bowling Plaza is a 90,000-square-foot facility which features 60
lanes in two parallel 30-lane rows; luxurious spectator seating for 360 people, a oneof-a-kind Daktronic digital scoring system with two 167-foot screens above the lanes
to display scoring, and many other bowler-friendly features. A 12-year, 30-event contract with the United States Bowling Congress was the commitment South Point
owner Michael Gaughan, Las Vegas Events and the Las Vegas Convention and
Visitors Bureau needed to make the permanent bowling facility a reality.
In addition to PBA and USBC events, South Point has already secured championship
events with the Amateur Bowlers Tour, High Roller Inc., The National Bowling

Association and several other organizations. It has placed an open invitation with
World Bowling to host whatever international championship events the world governing body for bowling cares to award to the United States.
South Point Bowling Plaza offersa customized facility that was strictly designed
with the needs of a tournament bowler in mind, said South Point Hotel, Casino and
Spa General Manager Ryan Growney. Michael Gaughans experience in the bowling
industry has allowed us to create an unparalleled tournament bowling plaza that will
generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact to this city.
From a bowlers perspective, the Plaza features a wide open design with ample room
for players to make full use of the approaches, lots of room for seating, open space to
move from lane to lane, a huge squad room and room for more than 700 lockers to
store equipment overnight. The massive Daktronic screens will display scores that can
easily be read from one end of the lanes to the other. That and custom seating will
make the Plaza a wonderful venue for spectators.
Beyond the bowling facility, the ground floor of the Plaza contains an equally stateof-the-art equestrian facility called Preifert Pavillion which will host a wide range of
rodeo, bull riding and equestrian events. To demonstrate the uniqueness of the facility, a 14-inch buffer of concrete and plywood will keep the aroma of the animals away
from the bowlers and the noise of crashing pins will be isolated from disturbing the
animals below.
As Growney said, Michael Gaughan (South Points owner) doesnt do mediocre.
Everything he does is first-class.
