Objective:
My first objective was to share a message of peace, joy and trusting in
God. I also wanted to renew those feelings in those who viewed my
design and communicate to Christians and Non-Christians alike who have
read or been effected by the scriptures.
An additional objective in this project was to try out my photography
abilities and preform beautiful color sampling.
Process:
For this project I quickly drew some rough sketches of what I wanted
my finished design to look like and began taking photography around
college campus. Once I had gathered some quality photographs, I edited
my best images in Adobe Photoshop. From there, I began sampling my
photograph and extracting colors to use into my design. I then searched
for a scripture I wanted to use for my main text. After choosing my
text content , I then used elements of style such as repeated elements,
contrasting fonts, and white space to make my project come together.

Objective:
To create a logo to advertise bread for the company NutriOven and
promote it as a heart healthy, home baked bread company. I wanted to
reach people who are interested in becoming more health aware and
purchasing healthy breads.
Process:
First, I sketched out several ideas for what I wanted the business to
represent and the different styles I wanted to explore. Then I took the
sketches to Illustrator and began using the shape and pen tools to
digitize the logos I had sketched out. Once I had the illustration done,
I began adding the title and subtitles using contrasting fonts, different
sizes, capitalization, and spacing from the Characters Pallet. I also applied
different color schemes and font pairings to each design to show more
options to a potential client.

Objective:
My objective in creating this letter head was to communicate this
companys competency in providing able, personable and homely care to
elderly men and woman in need of a retirement or assisted living home.
My target audience was likewise elderly men and woman looking for a
retirement or assistant living home and adults looking for a retirement
home for their parents. By using a more classic style fonts and evoking
a feeling of nature and peace with the leaf as my logo, I was able to
accomplish this objective.
Process:
I began with my logo in Illustrator and drew out my leaf image, added
color, and began playing with text leading, spacing, contrast and size.
Once I was happy with my logo, I moved on to my letterhead. Creating my
letterhead in Adobe InDesign, I typed out all the information I wanted on
the letterhead including a name, title, phone number, e-mail, fax number
and address. From there I focused on changing the fonts, pairings, sizes,
colors, weights and groupings. Once I was pleased with the way I had my
hierarchy and balance laid out, I added my footer and determined the
location and alignment of the company information and logo.

This project provides matching business cards for the letterhead above
to make a complete stationery.

Objective:
I wanted to create a matching business card that would work as a
companion to my company letter head (see previous page). Just as
in my letterhead, I wanted to communicate RedLeafs abilities to give
professional and personable care to elderly seeking a retirement or
assisted living home.
Process:
Having previously created my logo in Adobe Illustrator, I was able to
move directly to my business card design. For the business card, I worked
in Illustrator and started with a 3.5 x 2 document with two art boards. I
used my previous logo Illustrator file as the back side of my business card
and colored the background gray to give it dimension. For the front side,
I used the same text styles that I used for my letterhead and right aligned
the phone, fax, and address while I enlarged the name and moved it to
the left side with the e-mail. I then utilized the line tool to separate to two
groups of information.

Objective:
To display ability to create web pages and feature original logos in an
online format.
Process:
In my HTML (Hyper Text Mark-Up Language) document, I coded in my
content and logo image. Once my HTML structure was complete, I created
an CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) document, saved it and immediately
linked to my HTML file. From there I began to place coding into the CSS to
change font type, font color, background color, lists, header text, padding
and margin spacing, div styles, link styles, and image placement. My colors
used in this web page were selected directly from my logo using the
eyedropper tool in Photoshop to extract the hex colors. I also made sure
to validate my web page using online websites to guarantee there are no
glitches and that my web page can be viewed on all browsers.

Objective:
I wanted to communicate how this professional conference will benefit
and prepare graduates or students preparing to graduate to be leaders in
the world ahead. My target audience was young adults ages 22-30 and I
appealed to this audience by use of classic yet modern styles in this flier.
Not only did I want to catch this audiences attention, I wanted to make
sure my design advertised this in an appealing way so that students would
want to go to the conference to learn more about achieving a competitive
edge in the business world.
Process:
I began this project with rudimentary sketches that contained the
elements I needed to include in the finished flier. I included space for
text, images, title and subtitle in each of my sketches as well as focusing
on white space, balance and contrast. I then chose the design that I
thought was most effective in portraying my message and speaking to my
appropriate audience. Taking the design to Adobe InDesign, I began to
digitize the flier using the provided logo, text and image. Here I continued
to add appropriate detail, choose contrasting fonts, and fine tune the
alignment and unity of the flier.

Objective:
This ad was created to promote an event to help raise money for a
childrens care center. I wanted to target the adults of the community so I
used a photograph featuring adults with simple but bright colors to reflect
the cause of contributing to a childs care center.
Process:
This ad was created in Microsoft Word Processor without any help
from Adobe Illustrator or InDesign. The image used is one I found in
a magazine and scanned in to use on my project. During my project, I
focused on alignment, color, hierarchy, balance and choose to use simple
repetition to create unity in the ad. I also chose this color scheme in
consideration of the beneficiaries of the event and used red, yellow and
blue to encourage the child-centered purpose of the ad.

Objective:
I wanted to encourage and inspire LDS youth and potential missionaries
to serve missions and emphasize how the gospel is continuing to spread
throughout the world.
Process:
Collecting images that I wanted to use in my design, I moved to Adobe
Photoshop to begin my project. I cropped by background image to 8
1/2 x 11 and overlaid it with a colored texture background. From there
I brought the images I wanted to blend into Photoshop, applied a layer
mask, and brushed the edges of the image until I reached my desired
effect of subtle blending. I then moved on to create an visually appealing
and legible text with color, size, blending modes and effects. I used Color
Balance and De-Saturation to selectively edit the colors of my background
image and finally finished off my project by adding a border using the
Rectangle Tool and Layer Masks.

Objective:
I wanted to communicate a level of professionalism at the same time
imply that this was a fun, young, energetic company selling cosmetics
and beauty products. I also wanted to appeal to younger to middle aged
women who want a reliable beauty company they could come back again
and again to for cosmetic and beauty products.
Process:
The first thing I created was my logo which I did using Adobe Illustrator.
I created a clean, modern logo with simple shapes using the shape tools
and adjusted the fonts, sizes and colors appropriately using the character
pallet. I then brought my logo into an 8 1/2 x 11 InDesign document to
create my letterhead. I placed the contact information and name of a
sale associate at the top and styled the text using paragraph styles. From
there, I placed a fill text into my letterhead to reflect what the letter would
look like in actual use.

Business Card
Date:
Description:

This project was focused on creating a matching business card for the
Belle Cosmetics & Beauty business letter head.
Programs:

Course:

Com130-08
Instructor:
Professor Pingel
Objective:
Again, I focused on creating a business card that would appeal to
younger to middle age women. I also wanted to repeat similar themes as
represented on the letter head. This business card would likely come with
purchased beauty products to further advertise the company and supply
contact information for the future, so I wanted to make the information
and branding clear.
Process:
I created this business card in Adobe Illustrator and made sure to mimic
the same branding I developed for my letter head. I used a standard size
of 3 1/2 x 2 and the same paragraph styling on my letter head to feature
on my business cards. Using the shape tool, I also reflected the same
simple gray shape concept as you find on my letter head. On the front of
the business card, I displayed the logo, name, and contact information.
On the flip side, I spotlighted the name of the sale associate, their phone
number, and company name.
