GENERAL CONDITIONS
1

The tenders will be opened at 14.00 hrs. on the due date as mentioned above by the undersigned or by his
authorized representatives. If TANTRANSCO (TNEB Ltd.,) declares holiday on the date of opening of the tender,
the tenders will be opened on the next working day.

The tender specification / tender documents will be sold upto 15:00 Hours on the previous working day of tender
opening date by remitting the cost of tender set by Cash.

Sale of tender specification/tender documents will be stopped at 15:00 Hours on the previous working day of due
date for receipt of tenders. The Earnest Money Deposit should be remitted either by cash or D.D If the E.M.D. is
remitted by cash the same should be paid before12:00 Hours on the date of receipt of tender or by D.D. from
any one of Nationalised Banks drawn in favour of SE /GCC/TANTRANSCO/Salem payable at Salem

The tender specifications/Tender documents are not transferable. If the tender specification/tender document is
required by post, an additional amount of Rs.100/-(Rupees one hundred only) shall be paid for postage.

5. a) The particulars such as Name of Contractor, Permanent Account Number, the tender Specification Number, Name
of work and the permanent receipt number for having paid the E.M.D. etc., should be clearly written on the outer
cover of the sealed tender. The TIN nimber shall be furnished on the outer cover. The copy of the same
should be enclosed along with the tender, otherwise the tender will be liable for rejection.
b) If the particulars/ documents furnished along with the tender bids are found to be bogus or the documents
contains false particulars, the E.M.D. paid by the tenderers will be forfeited, in addition to blacklisting them for
future tenders contracts in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.

If the tenders are not submitted in the authenticated departmental form, along with the permanent receipt for
having paid the Earnest Money Deposit, on (or) before the due date and time, the same shall be summarily
rejected.

The Superintending Engineer reserves the right to distribute the works or to reject any or all the tenders without
assigning any reasons.

If the contractors fail to participate in three consecutive tenders, after purchased the tender set, further tender
notices will not be sent to them from this office.

The tender sets will be sold to the contractors registered in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board only. However if any
contractors who have not registered in T.N.E.B. but participated in the tender call should be registered
themselves as a registered contractor in T.N.E.B. before awarding of work if they become lowest.

10 Guide lines and Additional conditions for Down loading tender specification only through Website.
The Specification in respect of all works can be downloaded from the TNEB Website (www.tneb.in) and the
specification in respect of works more than a value of Rs.10 Lakhs can also be downloaded from Tamil Nadu
Govt. Website (www.tenders.tn.gov.in) at free of cost. However the contractors who have not registered their
name in T.N.E.B. as a contractor but participated in the tender call should be registered in T.N.E.B. before
awarding of work if they become lowest.

The Completion certificate as mentioned in column 7 of tender notice should be enclosed in the
outer cover failing which the tender will not be considered.

If the tenderer quoted value is 15% less than the estimate value, the tenderer should pay 50 % of
the difference in amount between the estimate sanction value and tender value as Additional

Security Deposit which will not bear any interest in addition to EMD 5% for issuing of award letter.
This amount will be returned to the contractor on completion of works in all respects.
