THE TRAINER
The trainer has a wide repertoire of skills which include appliance
development in the embedded space, custom development on
Linux/Unix platforms, custom training and architecting of complex
custom hardware and software solutions. For a brief stint, he was with
Tricera Systems, which hed also helped to found. He was there at the
capacity of a consultant too. Before founding Tricera Systems, he was
a Senior Technical Consultant for Hewlett-Packard, Consulting &
Integration. He was with HP (pre-merger Compaq/Digital) for 10 years,
and has 18 years of industrial experience in the ICT Industry. His focus
there was on Linux/Unix-based custom-built solutions for Enterprise
Business. This included custom software (typically web-based)
development on Intelbased Linux platform utilizing Open Source
software frameworks and components.
Before joining HP, he was a network manager for a large Hong-Kong
based garment manufacturer. His function was to develop a cohesive
network infrastructure and common network application platform for all
the 18 worldwide subsidiaries and plants. There, he gained
international and telecommunications experience, in addition to
enterprise-wide email and groupware deployment and operation issues.
Prior to joining HP, he worked in a Dutch Managed Network Service
Provider based in Singapore, where he managed the Asia-Pacific
portion of a world-wide Network Operations Center. He gained
experience in designing, implementing, deploying and troubleshooting
complex technical projects.
The trainer has a Masters Degree in Science, specializing in
Communications & Computer Networking from the Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore.
He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunication Software
with specialization in Data Communications & Networking Software,
from the Information Communication Institute of Singapore.
Finally, he has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
from the National University of Singapore.
