Version 3.5
Module 1
Note
- Most Deep Dive lab scenarios require existing configuration before they can begin to
be configured. Also, most lab scenarios use different pre-configuration from other Deep
Dive labs. Therefore it is necessary to load the "Startup Configs" prior to beginning any
of these lab scenarios.
- To load your router and switch configs, first log into your INE.com Members account,
then navigate to the "Rack Rental" tab, and click on "Control Panel" >> "Click here to
choose a configuration to be loaded on your Voice Rack", then choose the appropriately
named selection for this module. This will only load your router and switch configs
(pstn, r1, r2, r3, sw1, sw2).
- To load your CUCM server initial configs, please log into the CUCM Admin WebUI,
and use the Bulk Administration tool to upload & import the appropriately named DDModXX-CUCM-Startup.tar" file that was included in your Members account for this
module. Here are two brief demonstration videos on how to successfully accomplish this
upload and import into CUCM: Importing or Exporting Configurations in CSV file from
CUCM (15 mins), and Fixing Any Issues That May Arise With Importing CSS and
CdPTP & CngPTPs (8 mins).

VLAN @CorpHQ
Setup the CorpHQ Switch to support whatever IP phones can be found
connected to the switch
Configure VLAN 11 for the phone(s)' internal Voice VLAN, and 12 as the VLAN
to be passed to the PC port attached to the IP phone
Assure phone(s) are able to "talk" on the network as fast as possible
VLAN @Branch1
Setup the Etherswitch installed in the Branch1 router to support whatever IP
phones can be found connected
Configure VLAN 11 for the phone(s)' internal Voice VLAN, and 12 as the VLAN
to be passed to the PC port attached to the IP phone
Assure phone(s) are able to "talk" on the network as fast as possible
NTP
Configure the CorpHQ and Branch1 routers to synchronize their time to the
PSTN NTP Master Clock.
CorpHQ router should use Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8) and should follow
Daylight Savings Time
Branch1 router should use Central Time Zone (GMT -6) and should follow
Daylight Savings Time
Configure the CUCM server to synchronize its time to the CorpHQ router
DHCP @CorpHQ
Provision the CorpHQ switch to distribute IP addressing and options via DHCP to
any IP phones at the CorpHQ site, as well as any PCs connected to these
phones
The subnet for the Phones is 177.1.11.0/24 and for the PCs is 177.1.12.0/24
Prevent the IP address ranges of 177.1.11.1-29 and 177.1.11.129-147 from
being distributed
Phones should receive an option for a TFTP server, in an IP address format,
however using a DHCP option type that will allow them to later switch to DNS
naming if they should so choose
PCs should receive DNS server information. The DNS server IP to be handed
out should be the IP address of 177.1.10.110

Multicast Routing
Configure the CorpHQ and Branch1 infrastructure to support Multicast
Test your configuration by invoking Music on Hold
o Make a call from CorpHQ Phone 1 to CorpHQ Phone 2 and have Phone 1
place Phone 2 on hold
o Next make a call from Branch1 Phone 2 (Remote Rack) to the PSTN (call
911 for simplicity) and put the PSTN called party on hold

Ensure that all routers sending any sort of signaling traffic to the CUCM or media
traffic to any IP phones directly, marks said traffic with CS3 and EF respectively
Check the CUCM servers to find the Protocol and Port numbers for all "Enabled
Applications"
o On the CorpHQ SW1: Classify all that fall into the Application category of:
ccm
ctftp
CTIManager
ipvms
ntpd
o Mark all of these newly classified applications with the L3 DSCP PHB of
CS3 at the ingress port into SW1
Conditional Trust
Ensure that all Voice Signaling, UC Video Advantage, and RTP traffic is placed
into the expedited ingress queue before sending the frame to the stack ring.
Assign the following DSCP PHB's to the following egress queues and tail-drop
thresholds respectively:
o DSCP CS3 >> Q2 T2
o DSCP AF41 >> Q1 T2
o DSCP EF >> Q1 T3

For port Fa0/2, allow the remaining queues the ability to be guaranteed
bandwidth by de-queuing each queue using the following ratios:
o Q2 de-queued at a ratio of 10:100
o Q3 de-queued at a ratio of 34:100
o Q4 de-queued at a ratio of 55:100
For port Fa0/1, allow the remaining queues the ability to be guaranteed
bandwidth, but also limit each queue to the specified bandwidth values:
o Q1 guaranteed and limited to 5Mbps
o Q2 guaranteed and limited to 50Mbps
o Q3 not guaranteed nor limited to anything
o Q4 not guaranteed nor limited to anything

Configure LLQ on both the CorpHQ and Branch1 routers Frame-Relay PVC to
one another
Create a strict priority queue for all traffic labeled with the DSCP PHB of EF
Create an assured bandwidth queue for all traffic labeled with the DSCP PHB of
CS3
To each queue assign a bandwidth value for 8 G.729 calls placed over the link,
for all media and signaling streams respectively
o You must use the "percent" argument after your bandwidth command in
your configuration for each of these queues
Shape all traffic on both sides of this CorpHQ-Branch1 FR PVC WAN link
The carrier guaranteed CIR speed is 768kbps
Use a Hierarchical QoS Policy for this task while providing the best options for
voice traffic
