Module 5

CUCM Phone and Call Features :: Tasks

Lab Instructions:
Prior to starting this lab, ensure that you have both read through the Voice Rack Rental
Guide before beginning this lab, so that you are fully aware of how all equipment works
and is accessed, and that you have loaded both the initial router/switch configs from
INEs members site, and that you have manually loaded the CUCM initial configs as
described below.

Note
- Most Deep Dive lab scenarios require existing configuration before they can begin to
be configured. Also, most lab scenarios use different pre-configuration from other Deep
Dive labs. Therefore it is necessary to load the "Startup Configs" prior to beginning any
of these lab scenarios.
- To load your router and switch configs, first log into your INE.com Members account,
then navigate to the "Rack Rental" tab, and click on "Control Panel" >> "Click here to
choose a configuration to be loaded on your Voice Rack", then choose the appropriately
named selection for this module. This will only load your router and switch configs
(pstn, r1, r2, r3, sw1, sw2).
- To load your CUCM server initial configs, please log into the CUCM Admin WebUI,
and use the Bulk Administration tool to upload & import the appropriately named DDModXX-CUCM-Startup.tar" file that was included in your Members account for this
module. Here are two brief demonstration videos on how to successfully accomplish this
upload and import into CUCM: Importing or Exporting Configurations in CSV file from
CUCM (15 mins), and Fixing Any Issues That May Arise With Importing CSS and
CdPTP & CngPTPs (8 mins).

Phone Display
Ensure that all IP Phones show their complete E.164 phone number in the top
right of their display
o CorpHQ Phones should show this number: +1206501100X
o Branch1 Phones should show this number: +1512602200X
o Branch2 Phones should show this number: +3120703300X
All users are already linked to their corresponding IP Phones using the below
information:
o CorpHQ Phone1 belongs to Jack Shepherd
o CorpHQ Phone2 belongs to Hugo Reyes
o CorpHQ Phone3 belongs to Benjamin Linus
o Branch1 Phone1 belongs to Eloise Hawking
o Branch1 Phone2 belongs to Daniel Faraday
o Branch2 Phone1 belongs to Desmond Hume
o Branch2 Phone2 belongs to James Ford
Ensure all IP Phones' primary line displays their User's First and Last Name
along with their extension (DN) in the following format:
o FName LName xYYYY (where YYYY is the 4 digit extension)
o (e.g. Jack Shepherd x1001)
Ensure two IP phones setting up a call (one phone dialing and the other phone
ringing) both display the full name (only FName LName) of the person that is
either calling or being called respectively

Phone Firmware
Enable Hugo Reyes' (x1002) and James Ford's (x3002) phones so that they are
able to distribute firmware images to each other via a peer-to-peer protocol to
reduce WAN bandwidth consumption and CUCM TFTP server strain

Phone Logging
Force Jack Shepard's (x1001) phone to produce logging messages out of the PC
port so that a packet sniffer can be used to watch them

Basic Ring Settings

Set Hugo Reyes' phone (x1002) to allow for up to 3 total calls, but only allow 1
call to be active before future calls ringing in get forwarded to his CFB setting
Also set his DND so that if enabled, it automatically gets forwarded to his CFB
setting, however still allow his handset light to flash to indicate the incoming, but
forwarded call. Ensure that he has the ability to toggle DND on and off.
Set his CFB to Eloise Hawking (x2001) to test

Basic Call Forwarding

Provision James Ford's phone (x3002) so that if a call is ringing into him, that he
sees the calling party's name and number, as well as the original party that
forwarded the call and the last party to forward the call
Ensure that there is some sort of information that displays on James Ford's
phone indicating that this call was a Forwarded Call, even after the call has been
picked up by him
Set DND on Hugo Reyes' phone (x1002) to Enabled and set Eloise Hawking's
phone (x2001) to CFA to 3002, then call from x1001 to x1002 to test
In the above test, where the call has already been forwarded twice, if James
should attempt to forward the call again, it should fail whenever Jack initiates the
above call. Forward James' phone to x3001, and place the call from Jack (x1001)
to James (x3001) again to test. You should hear reorder tone. You can unforward when done testing.

Advanced Call Forwarding

Ensure that if Hugo Reyes (x1002) wanted to, he had the ability to immediately
forward any incoming call to either Desmond Hume (x3001) or James Ford
(x3002) by only pressing one button
o Clarification: You are allowed two buttons for this task, however only one
should need to be pressed to forward the incoming call to x3001, and the
other to x3002

Auto-Answer
Enable Auto-Answer for Benjamin Linus' phone (x1003) with speakerphone
Only allow it to auto-answer the call after 2 full rings
Do not allow auto-answer to function if there is a call already on hold at CorpHQ
Phone3

CallBack
Enable CallBack for Hugo Reyes' phone (x1002)
When Hugo enables CallBack for another phone, and the other phone becomes
available (goes from any other state to the state of idle), then a female voice
should ask Hugo "Are You There?"

Intercom
Enable Intercom functionality between Jack Shepherd's (x1001) and Hugo
Reyes' phones (x1002) using the DNs of 1001 and 1002 respectively
Each phone's intercom line should go off-hook with speaker immediately - no
ringing
Each person should see Ringing ID or Display ID of the other person's full name
when calling or being called respectively

Module 5

If either person goes off-hook on their intercom line, it should automatically dial
the other person's intercom, and their phone display should indicate that

5.10 Call Hold

If Eloise Hawking (x2001) places a call on hold, she should be reminded of that
held call every 10 seconds

5.11 Call Park

Ensure that any IP Phone user can park any call that is active on their phone
Ensure that users are always able to park calls anywhere in the DN range of
5500-5599
Ensure that an IP Phone who might have a full display can choose to park a call
by choosing the exact park DN, rather than having one automatically assigned to
them by CUCM
o They should be able to park the call anywhere in the range of 5600-5699
o If that call is not retrieved within 30 seconds, the call should ring back to
Eloise Hawking (x2001)
o Calls should be able to be retrieved by dialing *88<ParkDN>

5.12 Call Pickup

Setup call pickup groups, one for each of the three sites, and assign all phones'
primary DN's at each site to their respective groups
Provision each phone so that if a call is ringing in on any other phone, that they
are able to use the Pickup, GPickUp and OPickUp softkeys to pickup ringing
phones in various groups
Ensure that if a phone is ringing inside of a group, that after one ring, the other
phones in that group hear "Are You There?" and simultaneously see the both the
Calling and Called party along the bottom of their phone display (e.g. Jack
Shepherd sees: "Desmond Hume -> Hugo Reyes")
Allow any person picking up a call to only have to press a single key to
immediately answer the other person's ringing phone
Allow Jack to immediately see if Hugo's phone is ringing with a BLF Call Pickup
button

5.13 Shared Line, Barge and cBarge

Create a DN on a new line on both Jack Shepherd and Hugo Reyes' phones
o Assign the new Line the DN of 1005
Allow Jack the ability to barge into any active call on that line, undetected by the
third party on the existing call with Hugo
Allow Hugo the ability to barge into any active call on that line, if the third party on
the existing call with Jack is using an IP phone, they should be able to tell that
the call has been barged in on
Allow Jack the ability to "lock" the line so that Hugo cannot barge in on any inprogress, or on-hold, existing call, nor "see" who Jack is calling at any time
Hugo should not have the ability to "lock" the line for any calls
