Citizen Climate:
The Will Steger Foundation developed Citizen Climate, a new high school curriculum tried to national standards that
focuses on global climate solutions. This curriculum emphasizes civic engagement and helps teachers and students
understand critical and complex climate solutions being discussed on the national and international stage. It also
allows students to formulate statements about what they would like to see happen in climate policy and how these
policies and actions can be replicated in their states and local communities.

Global Green -Green Schools Initiative for California
In 2004, Global Green launched a new effort focused on K-12 schools in Southern California. This effort integrates the

Strategic Energy Innovations (SEI)


Is a non-profit organization that empowers under-served markets such as schools, small businesses, multi-family and
affordable housing, and other sectors, to accomplish their energy efficiency goals.

1. PG&E offers the Solar School Program in which a 1.3 kW photovoltaic system is donated to underserved

called The Energenius Program.
3. There are also the $2,500 or $5,000 Bright Ideas grants for schools to incorporate solar into classroom lessons or

The Climate Change Emission Calculator Kit is a step-by-step greenhouse gas inventory tool for schools.
