Why Does Man Need Salvation?

Some in this world may think this is a simple question to answer. Look all around; the
world’s a mess we are definitely in need of something to save mankind. Others may think
that this is an unnecessary question. Mankind doesn’t need salvation; all he needs to do is
be educated. Knowledge will bring the human race to perfection. Yes I agree the world is
in a terrible mess and getting worse. Knowledge is only a small part of perfecting the
human race. Knowledge has increased throughout the centuries, but our situation is
worse. Knowledge without the wisdom of God is a dangerous thing. It will bring
destruction instead of perfection.
The plain answer to why we need salvation is SIN. What is sin? Why are we infected
by it? What can be done to stop this infection? I will attempt to answer these questions in
this study. I will show you that a Loving God, whose creation rebelled against Him,
through His mercy made a way to restore fellowship with man.

A. What is sin? Sin is the turning away from God. Rebelling against His will. It is the
act of knowing what God wants and going in the other direction. You may say, “I
don’t know what God’s will is so I can’t be accountable”. All mankind is created
with the essential requirements of God’s law written on their hearts. Romans
2:15,16 – “15 They show that the essential requirements of the Law are written in
their hearts and are operating there, with which their consciences (sense of right
and wrong) also bear witness; and their [moral] decisions (their arguments of
reason, their condemning or approving thoughts) will accuse or perhaps defend
and excuse [them]. 16 On that day as my Gospel proclaims, God by Jesus Christ,
will judge men in regard to the things which they conceal (their hidden
thoughts)” (Amplified).

B. What is sin’s origin? This is something in my finite mind that I cannot fully
comprehend. And there is not a person alive who can fully understand how we
created by a God who is perfect, without a trace of evil, Who created us in His
image, how can we have sinned and turned from God. Even Paul considers sin
(iniquity) a mystery, 2 Thess. 2:7.
It is a pretty simple fact that sin originated with Satan, I John 3:8; Isaiah 14:12-
14. He rebelled against God His creator. He wanted to be worshipped as a god, to
be exalted in the same place as God. He led a revolt and a third of the angels were
cast out with him. Satan’s mission now is to seek to devour everything that God
has created, especially man, 1 Pet. 5:8. We were made in God’s image, Gen. 1:26-
27. Satan must have known that man held a special place in God’s heart, so it
makes sense that his main objective would be the destruction of mankind.

C. The infection of sin into mankind – It began with Satan’s temptation of man.
Read Genesis chapter 3 to see the full account. He possesses a serpent one of
God’s creation and first approaches Eve. This is a tactical move on Satan’s part
because Eve was Adam’s helper. There is a huge element of trust and love
between the two. The first thing Satan does is to bring doubt into Eve’s mind
concerning God’s integrity and His concern over their well-being. He suggested
to her that God was not honest with them and that eating of the tree in the garden
they would be like God. I think it is quite interesting here that Satan tempted
mankind with the same thing that brought about his fall, pride and the desire to be

God. Eve fell into Satan’s trap and ate the fruit, then gave the fruit to her husband
and he ate.
God created man with a free will. Man could have chosen not to sin. They
could have chosen to be obedient to their Creator who had given them literally the
world. They had been made in God’s image and clothed in His glory. Still they
chose to risk it all for the desire to become more when they already had
everything. In Gen. 3:7 you will read that the first thing that happened after they
ate of the fruit, their eyes were opened. The first thing they discovered was God’s
covering over them was gone. They were naked and vulnerable. In a quote from J.
Rodman Williams book, Renewal Theology, Volume One, God, the World, and
Redemption, chapter 11 he states “It is apparent that the thoughts of Adam and
Eve were no longer of God, nor even being like Him; and their actions after that
demonstrate increasing confusion of mind. The man and the woman made aprons
of fig leaves to cover their nakedness; they sought to hide themselves from God;
they tried to avoid His direct questioning about their sinful deed (3:7-13). None of
this makes good sense: they were operating out of a mind that had become vain
and futile in its thinking—and to this their actions corresponded.” They knew
something in them had changed. They saw the shame of what they had done.
They realized they had not received what Satan had promised. They were not like
God; they had become the exact opposite. When the Father approaches them, they
quickly play the blame game. God proceeds to pronounce the curse that is the
result of their disobedience. The woman's curse was pain in childbirth and servant
hood to her husband. Her life would no longer be her own. For the man it would
be hard intense labor with nature pulling against him. The curse entailed for both
of them physical and spiritual death. They were driven out of the Garden of Eden
and out of God’s presence. Unfortunately for the rest of mankind, we have
descended from a fallen race. The curse is passed on through the generations.
Adam and Eve now imperfect cannot produce perfect offspring. Sin has infected
the very being of mankind. God had first though cursed the serpent that Satan
possessed and then proclaimed to Satan a small hint of His redemptive plan for
mankind. In this plan Satan’s defeat was proclaimed (Gen. 3:15). Even then in the
midst of man’s sin, God had already provided the way of salvation for mankind.
You may ask why did God allow this to happen? Where was He when this all
transpired? There is a section on God’s permissive will that I am going to quote
from J. Rodman Williams book Renewal Theology, Volume One, God, the
World, and Redemption, chapter 10 titled Sin. “Finally, sin could not have
occurred without God’s permissive will. It was a matter both of God’s permission
and of His will. God permitted it to happen; yet also through its occurrence He
purposed to make it an instrument to manifest His grace and glory.
First, let us speak of God’s permission. In the case of the temptation by Satan,
there is undoubtedly a parallel to be found in the later story of Job that depicts
God as allowing Satan to perform his deeds. God at the beginning permitted
Satan to tempt man. Clearly without God’s permission, the serpent could have
had no contact in Paradise with man. With regard to human freedom—a freedom
basically to do God’s will—there is also the possibility of turning from God, else
it were a freedom in name only. God permitted man to spurn His command and

thereby to sin against Him. In sum, without God’s permission there could have
been neither the temptation by Satan nor the fatal decision by man.
Second, God’s will was actively involved in what transpired. The occurrence of
sin was by no means a bare permission, so that God, as it were, simply allowed it
to happen. Rather, although sin is contrary to God, He willed to fulfill through it
His own purpose. God is able to bring good out of evil and to make the sin and
fall of man subserve that intention. In this connection the words of Joseph to his
brothers, who had sold him into Egypt are apropos: ‘You meant evil against me;
but God meant it for good’ (Gen. 50:20). Likewise, God, in spite of all the evil of
mankind’s sin and fall, was working out a good purpose in it.
There is undoubtedly a strange paradox here. God surely did not will the sin of
man, else He would have been the author of evil; yet He did will that through sin
and the fall His purpose should be fulfilled. One aspect of this surely will be the
demonstration of His grace, for only through sin will the glory of God’s grace
become utterly manifest. Without the sin of the human race, there would have
been no Calvary and no demonstration of the incredible love of God. Thus it is
through the very sin and fall of man that the “amazing grace” of God the Father
in Jesus Christ will be made known.
Indeed, not only was the grace of God to be gloriously manifest through the
Fall by the redemption that later was to occur, but also the person who
experienced that redemption will know a joy and blessedness beyond measure—a
‘joy unspeakable and full of glory’ (1 Peter 1:8 KJV). The saints of God will sing
not only the song of creation but also the song of redemption! Heaven itself will
echo to those strains, and God will be all the more wondrously glorified.
The permissive will of God stands ultimately behind the sin and fall of mankind.
This by no means mitigates the heinousness of sin and evil nor the ensuing misery
of the human condition. But it does say that through it all God is sovereignly
working out His purpose to manifest the heights of His grace and glory.” I have
quoted this whole section because it has helped me to gain a better understanding
of what God’s plan is and why things are the way they are in this world. I know
that through man’s redemption in His Son Jesus Christ, God will totally destroy
sin, Satan, death and all the torment they bring (Rev. 20:10,14). The Great
Commission allows us to be a part of this wondrous act of God by calling the
redeemed to preach the Gospel to all nations, Matt. 28:18-20. This is both exciting
and fulfilling to the heart that belongs to Jesus. To know that the source of
mankind’s misery will be gone for eternity is almost too much to conceive. It is
wonderful to know that someday life will be perfect and those in Christ will be
surrounded by God’s unfailing love.

D. The result of sin – Man no longer desired the things of God, but desired things
that they thought would fulfill their new fallen nature. They seek to forget the one
true God. In most cases they seek to worship false gods. Adam and Eve did not
turn to false gods because the Father was obviously fresh in their minds. As time
moves on as you read further in scripture paganism runs rampant. Even in man’s
fallen nature the desire to worship something larger than himself is strong. Instead
of turning to God their creator, man turns to an idol that doesn’t require a change
in the sinful life they are living. Some people call themselves atheists. They claim

that God can’t be real or else why all the suffering in the world. They refuse to
believe that suffering is here by the will of man not the will of our Creator.
Idolatry comes in many forms, money, food, and sexuality, anything that takes
our focus off of God. The largest idol of man is man himself, Rom. 1:23.
Sin is responsible for all the woes of this world. Sickness and death, poverty,
violence and hatred, everything that is bad in this world is because of the sin of
man.

1. Sickness and death- Man’s body was designed never to die. When man
sinned part of the curse was physical death, Gen. 3:19. As time goes on
the more sinful man becomes, the more diseases and plagues attack the
physical body. Unhealthy eating causes many physical ailments such as
heart disease, obesity, etc., Proverbs 23:1-3. Consumption of too much
alcohol causes a number of deadly sicknesses such as liver and kidney
damage, alcoholism, increased mental illness just to name a few. Sexual
sins have led to many plagues that have threatened to kill millions of
people. Read Gal. 6:6-8: “6Anyone who receives instruction in the word
must share all good things with his instructor. 7Do not be deceived: God
cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to
please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one
who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (NIV)
Also 1 Cor. 6:18-20: “18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man
commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his
own body. 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
(NIV) God designed the body for pure sexual activity inside of marriage,
Gen. 2:24: 1 Tim. 3:2; Eph. 5:1-5; 1 Thess. 4:1-5; Titus 1:6.
Spiritual death – this is the worst of all curses, separation from God.
When man sinned they were banished from Paradise (the Garden of Eden).
Gen. 3:21-24 states: “21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam
and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, "The man has
now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be
allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat,
and live forever." 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of
Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove
the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim
and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree
of life.” (NIV) God had only intended mankind to know good, now man
also knew of evil and if man would have eaten of the Tree of Life he
would have lived in spiritual death forever. Man’s sin separated him from
the life-giving presence of God.

2. Poverty – this has many faces and causes. You see the face of poverty on
television in commercials begging for funds to help feed the starving
children. You wonder how God can let this continue. God has provided

man the means to provide for these people. There are a number of reasons
why these people are still starving.
a. Politics – their leaders are selfish people who are in leadership to
satisfy their lust for power and really have no concern for the
dying people in their care. They stop the flow of relief coming
into their countries and use them for their own purposes. In most
of the third world countries the political leaders do not want their
people to be educated for fear of them learning to be self-
sufficient and uprising against them. They stop the flow of
religious freedom to keep them from finding the One True God
who can lead them out of their poverty.
b. Religious apostasy – the prayers they lift up are to idols made of
stone or to gods who lived in time past who were just men like
them who have died centuries ago. You have situations like in
India who have sources of food walking around them, cattle for
example. They will not touch them because they are considered
sacred because that cow might just be an ancestor who was
reincarnated as that animal.
c. Drought – the land has been so used up there is no life left in it.
They have not had the proper education on proper farming. Over
use and the polluting of water reserves have bled some third
world countries dry.
We also see the face of poverty right here in the United States. Its causes
are somewhat different than the third world countries.
a. Abandonment – many families have had a selfish spouse that has
become disillusioned with life and leaves their family. This
leaves the remaining spouse, usually the wife, to try to make
ends meet. Many times the wife has trouble finding a job that
pays enough to make ends meet.
b. Lack of Employment – providers of a family unit cannot find
work where they live due to the economics of that area. They do
not have means to get transportation to find work elsewhere.
c. Plain out right laziness – there are many in this country that just
plain refuse to work. They drain our tax dollars when they are
perfectly capable of getting work. Many women will continue to
have children out of wedlock so that they can get more money
from the government.
d. Too much government aid – the government gives handouts far
to liberally which encourages the lazy to keep being lazy. They
have no reason to go and work. Their consciences have become
dull and they feel they actually have a right to money not earned.
Paul was very forthright when addressing people who refused to
work, 2 Thess. 3:9-10: “9We did this, not because we do not have
the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for
you to follow. 10For even when we were with you, we gave you
this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."”(NIV)

3. Violence and Hatred – In countries where governments and people have

tried to remove the reality of God’s existence or where false religions are
dominant, violence and hatred prosper. Mankind’s thoughts are becoming
more vain and self-centered. Perversions of all kinds are starting to
become the norm. The Church has fallen prey to many of the perversions
of sin. It has lost its focus on God and the true mission He has for His
children. Those who desire to live truly godly lives are ridiculed for their
beliefs.
I know that I have painted a bleak picture of mankind. Man’s rebellion of God has
cursed the earth. But God through His love and mercy for us has made a way to
restore fellowship with Him.

E. Stopping the infection of Sin. Only each person can stop the infection of sin in his
or her life and that is through Jesus Christ. John 3:16-18 states: “16For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not His Son into
the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten
Son of God.” (KJV) What does it really mean to believe in Jesus? Even the devil
believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Not only does he believe it, he was in
heaven with Jesus and has spoken personally with him. We all know that the devil
is condemned. The Amplified version of the same verse states all the definitions
of believeth from the Greek text which are “trusts in, clings to, relies on.” True
belief in Jesus requires repentance, a change of heart and deed. Mark 1:15 states:
“And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye
and believe the gospel.” (KJV) What does is mean to repent? Repent means to
“turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of ones life” (Merriam-
Webster Dictionary). You may say “But I’m a good person. I give to charities, go
to church and try to be nice to everyone.” This may be true but because of Adam
and Eve whom we have all descended from we are born into sin and that nature is
in us. Rom. 3:22-24 says: “22This righteousness from God comes through faith in
Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (NIV) Here is a list of sins that will keep
us from the Kingdom of God. Rev. 21:8 states - "But for the cowardly and
unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers
and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death." (NAS) Gal. 5:19-21 – “19The acts of the
sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition,
dissensions, factions, 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as
I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
(NIV) 1 Cor. 6:9 – “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom
of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor
adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders.” (NIV) We have all in
our lifetimes committed at least one of those sins. We are all guilty.

From the time that man sinned and throughout the Old Testament God had
required blood sacrifices to cover man’s sin. The animals sacrificed had to be
spotless without blemish. These sacrifices only provided limited forgiveness till
the time would be fulfilled that He would send His only begotten Son Jesus Christ
to be the final sacrifice. For our sins to have been forgiven forever the final
sacrifice had to have a pure bloodline. Every creature of this earth had become
part of the curse. Medical science has proven that our blood is formed from the
male’s sperm. The mother’s blood never enters the baby. This is why Jesus was
born of a virgin. Implanted by the Holy Spirit into Mary’s womb. What greater
love could God have than to send Jesus to die for a part of His creation that turned
their backs on Him? God sees the bigger picture. He created man in His image, in
His perfect Love and He was not going to let mankind slip from His presence
without making a way of escape for them. God had prophesied through the Old
Testament prophets the birth, death and resurrection of a Savior who would
deliver people and restore them back into fellowship with the Father. (Gen. 3:15;
49:10; Isa. 7:14 – “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin
will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”
(NIV); Isa. 9:6-7; 25:8; 28:16; 61:1-3; 62:11; Jer. 23:5-6; Dan. 7:13-14. Through
His death on the cross Jesus took the sin of all mankind upon himself and took our
punishment. He provided our salvation, healing and returned fellowship with the
Father. Isa. 53:1-12 – “1Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm
of the LORD been revealed? 2He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like
a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3He was despised and
rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from
whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he
took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken
by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon
him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each
of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us
all. 7He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led
like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did
not open his mouth. 8By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who
can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for
the transgression of my people he was stricken. 9He was assigned a grave with
the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor
was any deceit in his mouth. 10Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause
him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his
offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
11After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his
knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their
iniquities. 12Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will
divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and
was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made
intercession for the transgressors.” (NIV) Also read: Heb. 7:27; 9:24-28; 10:10-
14; 1 Pet. 3:18.

Even though Jesus paid the price for us we still have to make the choice to
accept this free gift that He has provided. There is no other way to salvation. Jesus
Himself spoke in John 14:6 – “Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and
the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”(NIV) Read also Acts
4:11,12. No good work or deed that we can accomplish on our own can save us.
Eph. 2:8-10 – “8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this
not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (NIV)
Rom. 10:8-10 also states that believing in the lordship of Jesus and His death is
the key to salvation- “8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your
mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if
you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you
believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are
saved.” (NIV) In the Old Testament there is a promise of salvation that blesses
my spirit. It is Isaiah 1:18 – “"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they
are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Through the blood of Jesus every sin
in our lives can be washed away. Just by believing that Jesus is the Son of God,
He is Lord and that He died for us. We must remember that part of believing is
repentance. We cannot say we believe then just go about our lives as we have
always done. Jesus when the Scribes and Pharisees brought to Him the woman
caught in adultery, He proceeded to tell her “Neither do I condemn thee: go and
sin no more.” (John 8:1-12) Jesus has a life for us that is far more fulfilling than
sinful living could ever be. The end results of a Christian life are far more
appealing. A never-ending life in the loving presence of God verses never-ending
torment in hell.
If you who are reading this study and have not accepted Jesus in your heart,
but feel a tugging in your conscience that what you are reading is true. That
tugging is the Holy Spirit. God’s Holy Spirit leads us to repentance, convicting
our hearts. You know in your heart that you are a sinner. Does one or more of the
sins that are mentioned above bind you? If you desire a change in life and want to
experience God’s forgiveness and have Him set a new path for your life, then
pray this prayer:

Father I come before you now. I acknowledge that I am

a sinner. I have tried to set my own course for life and I
am unfulfilled. I need the forgiveness you have
provided for me through Jesus Christ. I believe that He
is your Son, that He was crucified, died and rose again.
I believe Jesus did all that so that I can be forgiven and
be restored to fellowship with You. Please forgive me.
I accept Your Son’s sacrifice for my sins. Change and
make me the person you have created me to be. I
totally surrender my life to you. I pray this in the
precious name of your Son, Jesus Christ. AMEN!

This is all it takes to be saved. You may ask what do I do now. The best thing
to do now is to find a church. The Word of God says in Heb. 10:25 –“ Not
forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of
some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another,
and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.” (Amplified)
Fellowshipping with other believers is where we gain encouragement. Remember
there is no perfect church. It will be filled with people who struggle each day as
you do. We strive for the higher calling each day. In church you will receive
further teaching in the Bible from learned men and women of God who have
studied and sought the scriptures through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Here I have listed some guidelines in searching for a Bible-believing church.
When searching for churches make sure they follow each item on this list:

1. We believe that the Bible is the infallible written Word of God, 2 Tim.
3:16- “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and
profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction
of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness
(in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and
action),” (Amplified)

2. We believe there is one true God consisting of three persons: Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit

3. That Jesus Christ came to this earth, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life,
died to forgive our sins, rose again to bring us new life in Him.

4. That the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, and that there is no
other way.

5. That Jesus Christ will return to this earth--personally, visible, and bodily--
to consummate history and fulfill the plan of God.

6. That Christ sent the Holy Spirit to us to reveal and glorify Jesus Christ and
apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to
Christ and gives them new life in Christ. The Holy Spirit continually
indwells believers from the moment of spiritual birth, baptizes them into
the body of Christ, and seals them until the day of Redemption.

7. That man was originally created in the image of God. He sinned by

disobeying God and has been alienated from God. As a result of this sin,
man’s nature is corrupt, and he is unable to please God without the Blood
of Jesus Christ as covering.

8. Salvation is the undeserved free gift of God’s grace, and not the result of

 Why Does Man Need Salvation?

9. That Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, His Body, which is composed
of all men, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving
faith.

10. That at the moment of physical death, the believer enters into eternal,
conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of the body
to everlasting glory and blessing. (2 Cor. 5:6-9)

These are basics of the Christian faith. To find churches that have these beliefs
you can look through the phone book, call various churches to request their
statements of faith or belief. Another solution is to do an Internet search for
churches in your area. Many churches now have websites that have statements of
what they believe or mission statements.

You also need to get a Bible in a version that is easy for you to understand. My
recommended versions are: New International Version, New King James Version,
The Amplified Bible, and New American Standard. Once you find a church the
pastor or various leaders should be able to give you direction on choosing a Bible.
We are taught in the Word of God to study, 2 Tim. 2:15 – “Study and be eager
and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a
workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately
dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.”

If you have read this study and prayed the prayer of salvation, I pray that God will
continue to guide you into a growing faith in Jesus Christ. Will your life now be perfect?
No, but as you continue to grow in Christ He will mold you into His image. We will not
be perfect until the day Jesus returns to gather His people to Him. He loves you so very
much and wants the very best for your life.

If you did not pray the prayer of salvation, then I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue
to tug at your heart till the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ becomes real to you.
