QUESTION 1:
First at all, we must to introduced what is occupational safety and health ACT
(OSHA) . Second, must introduced the objective of OSHA, to ensure the
safety, health and welfare of person at work against risks to safety and health
arising from workplace activities . Next objective,is to protect non-employers at
a workplace from risks to safety and health arising from workplace activities,
to promote an occupational environment at the workplace that is adapted to
their physiological and psychological needs. Third , we must knows that OSHA is
corcern with protecting safety + health + welfare people in employment and that
why OSHA is really needed to comply in company that is more than 40 workers.
Fourth, we must known the reason to establish OSHA in moral, economical, and
legal sector. Fifth, company must known the type of legistarion, is act,
regulations, codes of practise,standart and guidance notes. Sixth , acts are laws
that are passied by parliments and are very general in terms . For example, act
1994, employers are required to provide a workplace that is safe and without
risk to health. Acts describe general duties. Seventh , regulation are laws
written under the authority of an act. They give detailed or technical effect to
the act . If company does not comply with a regulation they can be prosecuted .
Regulation they can be prosecuted. Regulation desacribe specific obligations
ASSINGMENT 2:
When a company has more than 40 workers must establish an OSHA comitee,
Both management and workers must have adequate and equal representatonal in
the committee . Besides that, the committee provides an avenue for
consultation and cooperation between management and workers in identify,
accessing and controlling workplace hazard. Commiteess are must play roles by
review OSHA measure undertaken , inspect, the workplace , insvestigate
possible hazard, accident near-missed, and recommended coreective action . it
just to enchance the safety among all workers and workplace
Lastly, to make SH committee to be effective is with obtain annual goals. First,
assign duties to members as needed. You must work on goals simultaneously or
break down large challenges into smaller steps. Secondly, regularly review
progress of the OSH activities. You must updates at meeting and do not let one
year mark sneak up or loss. Third and last option, celebrate when goal are
achieves. It can boost morale within the group and encourage the others to see
the benefits being an active SH committee.
ASSINGMENT 3:
1) This Occupational Safety and Health (Employers Safety and Health
General Policy Statements) (Exception) Regulation 1995 is based on
Section 16 of the Act which is shall apply to every employer and every
self-employed person except those who carry on an undertaking with not
more than five employees. This regulations involving the;
a) general duties of employers
b) duties in relation to management of particular hazards (relation to noise
at workplace, relation to heights at some workplaces, relation to
scaffolding in construction work)
c) certificates of competence; which is include application, issue, renewal,
cancellation, and suspension
d) duties in relation to certificates of competence; which is include duties in
relation to divers and duties of employers in relation to construction work
e) Duties in relation to young persons
f) Duties in relation to agricultural employee accommodation
g) Duties of designers, manufactures, and suppliers; which is incudes Plant
and protective clothing and protective equipment
