One day a rich dad took his son on a trip to a village. He wanted to show him how poor someone can
be. They spent time on the farm of a poor family.
Dad asked, Did you see how poor they are? What did you learn out of this?
Son replied, We have one dog, they have four,
We have a pool, they enjoy rivers,
We have lanterns at night, they gaze at stars,
We buy foods, they grow theirs.
We have walls to protect us, they have friends,
We have encyclopaedias, they have bible.
Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are!
Moral: its not about money that make us rich, its about simplicity of having God in our lives.

Finding Happiness
Once a group of 50 people was attending a seminar.
Suddenly the speaker stopped and started giving each person a balloon. Each one was asked to write
his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another
Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name
written, within 5 minutes.
Everyone was frantically searching for their name, pushing, colliding with each other, and there was
utter chaos.
At the end of 5 minutes, no one could find their own balloon.
Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was
written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.
The speaker began: This is exactly happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for
happiness all around, not knowing where it is. Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people.
Give them their happiness; you will get your own happiness.
And this is the purpose of human life.

Making a difference
An old man walked across a beach until he came across a young boy throwing something into the
breaking waves.
Upon closer inspection, the old man could see that the boy was tossing stranded starfish from the
sandy beach, back into the ocean.
What are you doing young man? He asked.
If the starfish are still on the beach when the sun rises, theyll die. The boy answered.
That is ridiculous. There are thousands of miles of beach and millions of starfish. It doesnt matter
how many you through in; you cant make a difference. The old man said.
It matters to this one the boy said as he threw another starfish into the wavesand it matters
to this one.
Never judge a book by its cover
A 24 year old boy seeing out from the trains window shouted
Dad, look the trees are going behind!
Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year olds childish behavior with pity,
suddenly he again exclaimed
Dad, look the clouds are running with us!
The couple couldnt resist and said to the old man
Why dont you take your son to a good doctor?
The old man smiled and said
I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes
Every single person on the planet has a story. Dont judge people before you truly know them. The
truth might surprise you.
Shake off your problems

A man's favorite donkey falls into a deep precipice;

He can't pull it out no matter how hard he tries;
He therefore decides to bury it alive.
Soil is poured onto the donkey from above.
The donkey feels the load, shakes it off, and steps on it;
More soil is poured.
It shakes it off and steps up;

The more the load was poured, the higher it rose;

By noon, the donkey was grazing in green pastures.
After much shaking off (of problems)
And stepping up (learning from them),
One will graze in GREEN PASTURES.
The Elephant Rope

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge
creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was
obvious that the elephants could, at any time, break away from their bonds but for some reason,
they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get
away. Well, trainer said, when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope
to tie them and, at that age, its enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to
believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they
believed they couldnt, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do
something, simply because we failed at it once before?
Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.
Care for others

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop
and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.
How much is an ice cream sundae?
50 cents, replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied a number of coins in it.
How much is a dish of plain ice cream? he inquired. Some people were now waiting for a table and

the waitress was a bit impatient.

35 cents, she said brusquely.
The little boy again counted the coins. Ill have the plain ice cream, he said.
The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the
ice cream, paid the cashier and departed.
When the waitress came back, she began wiping down the table and then swallowed hard at what
she saw.
There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were 15 cents her tip.
Value-A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he
asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple
the dollar bill up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"Still the hands were up in the air.
"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into
the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the
"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still
wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are
dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that
come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will
never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!
Thank for blessings
Two men were walking along one summer day. Soon it became too hot to go any further and, seeing
a large plane tree nearby, they threw themselves on the ground to rest in its shade. Gazing up into
the branches one man said to the other,

What a useless tree this is. It does not have fruit or nuts that we can eat and we cannot even use its
wood for anything.
Dont be so ungrateful, rustled the tree in reply. I am being extremely useful to you at this very
moment, shielding you from the hot sun. And you call me a good-for-nothing!
Moral: All of Gods creations have a good purpose. We should never belittle Gods blessings.
A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it over to the telephone. He
climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in
seven digits (phone numbers). The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation.
Boy: Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?
Woman: (at the other end of the phone line): I already have someone to cut my lawn.
Boy: Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your lawn now.
Woman: Im very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.
Boy: (with more perseverance) : Lady, Ill even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday
you will have the prettiest lawn in all of Palm beach , Florida.
Woman: No, thank you.
With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The store-owner, who was listening to
all this, walked over to the boy.
Store Owner: Son I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to offer you a job.
Boy: No thanks.
Store Owner: But you were really pleading for one.
Boy: No Sir, I was just checking my performance at the Job I already have. I am the one who is
working for that lady I was talking to!
Everything happens for good
A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the
other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The
two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other
frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to
what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him
to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the
other frogs said, Did you not hear us? The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought
they were encouraging him the entire time.
We need to struggle
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the
butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to
stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit
of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings
would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither
happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and
shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the
struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid
from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its
freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives
without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.
We could never fly!
A baker and a farmer had an agreement, the baker got butter from the farmer and the farmer got
bread from the baker. After a while the baker noticed that the pieces of butter from the farmer,
that should weigh three pounds, became lighter and his scales agreed with him. He got angry and
went to court to complained about his butter supplier. The baker claims your pieces of butter do
not have the required weight the judge said to the farmer, this piece of butter should weigh three
pounds, but it weighs much less.
That's impossible, Mr. Judge the the farmer said, I check the weight every time. The judge than
said: Maybe your weights are incorrect!. The farmer replied in dumb amazement: My weights? I
do not have any weights, I never use weights.
The judge replied: So if you do not have weights, how do you check the weight of the butter?. The
farmer said: Quite simply, I get my bread from the baker and he gets butter from me. A loaf of

bread weighs three pounds so put my butter on the left scale and a bread on the right side!
A guru advised his students to meditate three times a day. Most of his students watched him with
some burdened ands most of their comments were almost identical: "I will try." The guru nodded
wisely and while he walked back to his seat, he dropped the book he had
under his arm and it fell to the floor. He turned around, bent over, reached for the book, but
could not get it. Time after time
he grabbed but could not get the book. His students looked at him in amazement. "You try to pick
it up," he said to one of the students.
The student walked to the book, bent over, picked up the book and handed it to his guru. The
guru hit the book out of his hands, back
to the ground and said: "I did not ask you to pick the book up, I only asked you to try.
Follow your dream
Once upon a time, there was a large mountainside, where an eagles nest rested. The eagles nest
contained four large eagle eggs. One day an earthquake rocked the mountain causing one of the
eggs to roll down the mountain, to a chicken farm, located in the valley below. The chickens knew
that they must protect and care for the eagles egg, so an old hen volunteered to nurture and
raise the large egg.
One day, the egg hatched and a beautiful eagle was born. Sadly, however, the eagle was raised to
be a chicken. Soon, the eagle believed he was nothing more than a chicken. The eagle loved his
home and family, but his spirit cried out for more. While playing a game on the farm one day, the
eagle looked to the skies above and noticed a group of mighty eagles soaring in the skies. Oh,
the eagle cried, I wish I could soar like those birds. The chickens roared with laughter, You
cannot soar with those birds. You are a chicken and chickens do not soar.
The eagle continued staring, at his real family up above, dreaming that he could be with them.
Each time the eagle would let his dreams be known, he was told it couldnt be done. That is what
the eagle learned to believe. The eagle, after time, stopped dreaming and continued to live his life
like a chicken. Finally, after a long life as a chicken, the eagle passed away.
Moral: You become what you believe you are. If you ever dream to become an eagle, follow your
dreams, not the words of the other chickens.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across
the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. he
noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also
noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. Lord, you said that once I decided
to follow you, youd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that at the worst times in my
life, there is only one set of footprints. How could you leave me when I needed you the most?
The Lord replied, My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your
times of suffering and when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.
A giant ship engine failed. The ships owners tried one expert after another, but none of them
could figure but how to fix the engine.
Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a young. He carried a
large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the
engine very carefully, top to bottom.
Two of the ships owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After
looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently
tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The
engine was fixed!
A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.
What?! the owners exclaimed. He hardly did anything!
So they wrote the old man a note saying, Please send us an itemized bill.
The man sent a bill that read:
Tapping with a hammer .. $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap .. .. $ 9, 998.00
Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference!

A gentleman once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of
Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby. Surprised, he asked the sculptor, Do you need
two statues of the same idol?
No, said the sculptor without looking up, We need only one, but the first one got damaged at
the last stage.
The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. Where is the damage? he
There is a scratch on the nose of the idol. said the sculptor, still busy with his work.
Where are you going to install the idol?
The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high.
If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose? the gentleman
The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said,
I know it and God knows it!
Moral The desire to excel should be exclusive of the fact whether someone appreciates it or
not. Excellence is a drive from inside, not outside. Excel at a task today not necessarily for
someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction.
Pain killer
Once an unhappy young man came to an old master and told he was very sad and asked for a
The old Master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and
then to drink it. How does it taste? the Master asked. Awful, spat the apprentice. The Master
chuckled and then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake. The
two walked in silence to the nearby lake and when the apprentice swirled his handful of salt into
the lake, the old man said, Now drink from the lake.
As the water dripped down the young mans chin, the Master asked, How does it taste?
Good! remarked the apprentice. Do you taste the salt? asked the Master. No, said the
young man. The Master sat beside this troubled young man, took his hands, and said,
The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains the same,
exactly the same. But the amount we taste the pain depends on the container we put it into. So
when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things .. Stop being a
glass. Become a lake.

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi.

There was a King who had 1 Eye and 1 leg..
He asked all the painters to draw a beautiful portrait of him. But none of them could -- how could
they paint him beautifully with the defects in one eye and one leg.
Eventually one of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the King.
It was a fantastic picture and surprised everyone..
He painted the King AIMING for a HUNT. Targeting with ONE Eye Closed and One Leg Bent ...

Battle between Two

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes
on inside people. He said, My son, the battle is between two wolves
inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth,
compassion and faith. The grandson thought about it for a minute and
then asked his grandfather: Which wolf wins? The old Cherokee simply
replied, The one you feed.
