initially contains 50g. How long will it be until it contains 45g?

Group 2
1. The rate at which the population hears about the product is assumed to be the number of people who are not
yet aware of the product. By the end of one year, half of the population has heard of the product .How many
will have heard of it by the end of 2 years?

2. A tank contains 40 gallon of solution composed of 90% H2O and alcohol. A second solution containing half water
and half alcohol. Added to the tank at the rate of 4 gallon per minute. At same time the tank is being drained at
the rate of 4 gallon per minute. Assuming at the solution is stirred constantly. How much will be tank after 10
minutes?

3. A population of 20 wolves has been introduced into a national park. The forest service estimates that the
maximum population, the park can sustain is 200 wolves. After 3 years, the population is estimated to be 40. If
the population follows a complete growth model. How many wolves will be there be 10 years after their
introduction?

Group 3
1. A tank contains 300L of fluid which 20 gram of salt is dissolved. Brine solution 1 gram of salt per liter is then
pumped into the tank at the rate of 4L/min. The well mixed solution is pumped out at the same rate. Find
the number N (t) gram of the salt in tank at time t

2. An Object of mass 3 Kg is released from rest 500m above the ground and allowed to fall under the influence
of gravity. The force due to air resistance is proportional to the velocity of the object with proportional
constant R=3N/sec m.

3. The population of a community is known to increase at a rate proportional to number present at time t. If
the population has doubled in 6 years, how long it will take to triple?

Group 4
1. Radium decomposes at a rate proportional to the quantity of radium present. Suppose that it is found in 25
years approximately 1.1% of a certain quantity of radium has decomposed. Determine approximately how long
it will take for one half the original amount of radium to decompose.

2. The population of a community is known to increase at a rate proportional to number present at time t. If the
population has doubled in 6 years, how long it will take to triple?

3. When a Chicken is removed from the oven, its temperature is meaty rod at 300 F. 3 minutes later its

1. A thermometer which has been at the reading of 70 F inside a house is place outside where the air temperature
is 10 F. Find that the thermometer reading is 25 F. Find the reading after 6 minute.

2. A certain radioactive substance has a half-life of 33 hours. Find how long it takes for 90% of the substance to be
dissipated.

3. Thermometer readings 75% is taken outside where temperature is 30 F 4 minutes later .Find the temperature
reading 2 minutes after the thermometer is brought outside.

continuous compounded interest .What is the annual interest rate?

2. A pot of liquid is put on the stove to boil. The temperature of the liquid reaches 170 F and then the pot is taken
of the burner and placed on the counter in the kitchen ,the temperature of air in the kitchen is 76 F. After two
minutes the temperature of the liquid in the pot is 123 F. How long before the temp of the liquid in the pot will
be 84 F?
